Exquisite! I love the atmosphere and my favorite dish, the lamb shank.
Bistronomic is outstanding in every respect - delicious food, outstanding service, and a warm and inviting ambience. A genuine French bistro in the heart of Chicago!
Great food and service.
Great food and service. High quality ingredients and preparation. Good amount of space inside or out. Noise level can get high as you go later into the evening.
The hostess was fantastic! Server was slow and wasn’t very available. The food was good, pomme frites and duck confit were excellent!
great food and service, and never rushed at all. Love their steak frites, and the frech onion soup was great with the addition of mini croque monsieurs on top (it was part of a tour de france menu). We have gone many times, never a bad meal or service.
Service was very slow. Outstanding de is nice but very load. Food was very good
We celebrated our anniversary here and had good service and good food. Had to be done by a certain time for another event and the staff was very accommodating.
The food was really good, but the service lack some finesse.
A bit salty but overall very good
We enjoyed our dinner, although the room where we sat inside was awfully dark. I think they could use more servers; our servers were very nice but we had to wait awhile for each course.
The mussels and frites were very tasty. Our friends had the Dover sole which was excellent.
Food is consistently excellent. Great neighbourhood restaurant.
I recently went here for Sunday brunch. It’s a cute French bistro. The food, service and ambiance was great. I had the mushroom omelet. I think it was the omelette I ever had.
Both food and service were excellent. Food was well prepared and of high quality. Loved their fries and the tuna special was of high grade and cooked superbly. The baked Alaska we shared for dessert was most delicious. Waiter was knowledgeable and attentive but not intrusive. We also appreciated the chef/owner? Stopping by. We definitely plan to return.
Service was great and food was amazing! Very good restaurant with a great Brunch
As my wife and I are French, we thought that we would have a French dining experience at Bistronomic. Unfortunately, this restaurant in no way resembles French dining or anything that you would find in France. My wife had a steak that had so many nerves and tendons in it that she had to “rip” it as opposed to cutting it. The french fries were horrible and resembled something more like football stadium fries two hours after having been cooked. McDonalds has better french fries…maybe the chef can subcontract the restaurant’s french fry making to McDo. I had an Amish chicken which consisted of three pieces of meat on a few vegetables. It was “ok” at best (trying to find something good to say). Clearly would not order it again.
In terms of service, the hostess who seated people was nice and polite. On the other hand, on two occasions, watching the chef walk around the restaurant and yawn while listening to him exhale was just disgusting.
We did not order dessert or have a coffee as we usually do. We just wanted to get out of the restaurant. Obviously we have no intention of ever dining there again.
I LOVE this family-owned restaurant. I'm always treated like an honored guest and the food is fantastic!
We had a fabulous meal - all dishes were delicious. Loved our waiter, too!
The drink's, and the appetizers were great.
Unfortunately the Beef Bourguignon had a golf ball sized piece of fat on it, we also got the duck breast, the fat wasn't rendered well and was pretty stiff.
As far as I know the rest of the large plates we ordered came out well.
Amazing food and service!
We enjoyed the Tuna appetizer and the beet salad, both were great.
We then split the mussel and fries entry, great also.
The service was excellent, however the food left something to be desired. Nothing was bad but everything was pretty boring and seemed to be an ingredient or two away from being worth the hefty price tag. Tuna tartare, beet salad, gnocchi, Delmonico (this was the lowlight of the meal) and frites, a bottle of wine, two glasses of white, two glasses of champagne, 3 small pieces of cheese, a creme brulee and tip was $400. The sidewalk seating was nice, but also right next to the street. Everyone that worked there was very pleasant but I would not go back.
We were a table of 5, everyone had something different down to the desserts. The whole party was delighted. We each thought our choice was the best!
Great location just two blocks off Michigan ave.
Excellent service and seating.
Food was excellent, Onion soup and Steak Frites were delicious.
I highly recommend for authentic French food.
Wonderful staff and amazing food! Charming inside and out
The charcuterie (5) was outstanding.
the rest of the food was hit or miss. The Beef Bourguignon was good. The salmon and steak nothing to write home about -- just ordinary. The Coq Au Vin was a caricature of the traditional one, nothing but a couple pieces of chicken breast. It should not to be even called Coq Au Vin because customers will order it expecting the famous traditional French dish. I understand that they probably wanted to modernize the dish, but the traditional one does not need to be modernize. It's traditional taste make make it a classic.
The dessert was the best part of the meal.
Such a great little neighborhood treasure - the food and service are always so good!
A meal at Bistronomic is always a delight.
Bistronomic is one of the best restaurants in Chicago. The food is amazing and we highly recommend it.
Lovely night. Food was great, service very good. We'll be back.
Food was outstanding, sidewalk table was quiet and intimate. Loved the food and atmosphere! Restaurant was PACKED and while waiters did there best it was extremely slow- BUT we loved everything else and were in no hurry so it was fine and we will return!
Bistronomic is a favorite of ours, always wonderful French food, excellent staff. Last night was a festive Bastille Day celebration with live music. Full to capacity, the beautiful Lulu was ever gracious at accommodating a surge of guests and was kind to place us at our favorite table. Food never missed a beat, came out hot and perfectly cooked, with Chef Martial and his entire staff working seamlessly to make every diner happy. Another wonderful night at Bistronomic!
I sat at my table at 7pm. It took the waiter 30 minutes to come take my order. I ordered onion soup and beetroot salad. Food arrived at 8pm. The onion soup was SO SWEET. I know onions are sweet but this was as sweet as a dessert. The beet salad was good.
Service is very professional. Daily Specials Menu very diverse and extensive.
Food was lovely, the prefixed menus is a seal! The owners were delightful! And it was a busy but every one made a point to check on us at one point or another, from the buss boys to servers to the Cheff himself.
Food extraordinarily delicious!!! Special menu for the Tour de France was very special. An impressive outpouring of attention and food appreciation from every person who served us. Thank you Laurence and staff!!!
Until next time…
Elegant but comfortable and welcoming classic French bistro. The service was perfectly attentive without being overbearing. We loved the country pate and the coq au vin. Good selection of wines by glass or bottle.
Always exceptional-the coq au van is the best we’ve ever had.
