Every time I go to Versailles I’m never disappointed. The food , service and atmosphere is excellent.
Very charming and well spaced table. Good for conversation.
Steak was cooked to perfection and my wife loved her Onion Soup. The mussels however were a little dry. There was a banging noise coming from the kitchen which was a little annoying. Easy fix. Overall we enjoyed the experience and will go again.
Nice change compared to what else is offered on the local strip. Menu is inviting and make sure you get dessert.
We were there for New Year’s Eve and their heater was broken and it was 7 degrees outside. They didn’t tell us until halfway through the meal when we asked to have the heat turned up. No warning and no compensation for the meal. Extremely disappointed and feel they should’ve offered us some compensation for the major inconvenience!
Horrible food, and so overpriced. Will not be returning.
Everything was perfect. The food and service was excellent.
Excellent service, ambiance and delicious food. Thank you.
I've eaten at Versailles many times and last week was by far the worst (Nov 2017). I had the Steak Frites and it was worse than dog food and cooked exactly how I asked them not to. Extremely fatty I was spitting most of it out as it was inedible. I requested very little butter and it arrived on my plate with a hockey puck sized platter of garlic butter. I believe good service means when you order a salad they should offer ground pepper rather than being forced to request it and when ordering coffee they should offer cream, milk and sugar and again I had to request them. To be fair my friends were not displeased accept 1 other person had "soggy mushrooms" in their dish. Yuck.
Sorry but so bad I don't think I'll return.
The food was good and the service was fine. While I wasn't wowed, it was all in all, a nice experience.
I have been going to Versaille for years for breakfast or to pick up pastries but we had never tried it for dinner and wanted to give it a shot. The dinner wasn't a disaster, I just found it to be very average French food at a very high price and there are several alternatives in Greenwich that are better. I don't think I will go back for dinner again.
I enjoyed our meal. It is a consistent performer. Dishes are presented well and the combination of Flavors is well thought out. I have no real negatives to report as I believe the chef to wait staff display competence and skill. Special kudo to the bartender who made the cosmo for my significant other extraordinarily good
Good Food and Good service. Neighborhood jem for lunch & dinner.
Excellent food and environment to have special occasions and get-togethet.
Charming, casual French-Bistro atmosphere. Lovely prix fixe menu. Excellent, friendly, non-imposing service. Always a good dining experience. Great for lunch whether with friends or for business.
Another delicious meal at Bistro Versailles! Casual French food (I love the short rib), a solid wine list and great cocktails (try the 337 Avenue), plus summer sidewalk seating. And, unlike Le Penguin, it isn't deafening. Surprised it isn't more popular, but we plan to return often.
Good food, given it was a business lunch it would have been better if service was more prompt. Had the classic croque monsieur and it was quite good. My lunch companions enjoyed their quiche and salads. I would recommend but save room for dessert.
Dollar oysters at happy hour! We also had the beef tartare, escargot and mussels. All amazing!
The pastry was wonderful. The salad very good. The omelette was so salty that it
was impossible to eat, and this was after a request for no salt!Perhaps the waiter did not
listen or understand my English.
This place is my absolute new favorite. The food is excellent and I'm always very well treated by the staff. The manager, Chantelle, is a gem. This last time I was there, she personally checked on me a few times throughout my meal and not in a way that felt forced or like she haddd to. She's very personable and professional - the whole staff is, really. Love them!
I'm not a fan of "French" cuisine but my friend and I thought we would try someplace different. Staff was friendly, simple decor, decent wine list, pricey menu, with small portion on the salad we shared. There were very few patrons. Overall, I wasn't impressed.
This restaurant is great for lunch
Quaint, lively ambiance. Food took f o r e v e r...
Enjoyed Mother's Day brunch. Oysters were perfect, very clean. The avocado toast with eggs was filling and very tasty. Nice cocktail menu. Very classic bistro ambiance and authentic bustling atmosphere. Very quick service and they are careful to maneuver in very tight seating without jostling the dining guests. Casual. Slightly pricey but on Greenwich Ave that's to be expected. Only suggestion is to change up the music.
Too expensive and noisy. Plates were too big for the size of the table
Such a great place! Our waiter was amazing, the food was incredible & my dessert was TO DIE FOR!
The food was very good! An omelet and pancakes + OJ & coffee is not worth $50 before tip. Honestly, this was a decent bakery with extraordinarily high pricing.
Despite our excitement at dining at Bistro Versailles, we had a very disappointing meal. Everything was just OK, but for the price point, it should be so much more. My crab cakes were almost tasteless, they were so bland and the promised rouille turned out to be 3 minuscule drops on the plate. And I ordered a rare steak au poivre. The steak was not rare but more on the medium side of medium rare, and the au poivre turned out to be a little sauceboat on the side with what turned out to be some really bland brown sauce with a couple of peppercorns floating around in it. They were very nice about switching to the Bernaise, which was fine. But the steak came on a plate with nothing else on it -- not a vegetable or even a garnish; just a steak oozing its juices. Frites were on the side, and they were ok. Decent and hot, but nothing to write home about. My husband also had the steak and felt similarly. Our dining companions were silent, and I felt bad because I had switched our reservations to this place since my husband loves bistro food. Notably, the place was almost empty.
Three of us decided to stop in for brunch -- and then we had a two-year old with us. The staff were incredibly patient and accommodating. The food is always good, sometimes great and you will not be rushed to finish. A good time was had by all --
Excellent food and service in a relaxed European atmosphere.
Have been here several times over the year - for lunch, dinner, dessert and each time it's consistently enjoyable. Has authentic bistro feel with tile floors, large art posters and even a wine bottle chandelier. Menu offers something for everyone - meat, fish, veggies. Most recently went for lunch where my friend and I shared our respective smoked salmon and grilled chicken sandwiches. The salmon came with delicious and perfectly cooked french fries served in the traditional cone. Favorite dessert is the pont neuf which is a cross between a creme brulee and an apple tart. Service is attentive and helpful. Highly recommend.
Great dinner....excellent wait staff. The food was seasoned perfectly. Only praise for the food and our kitties got a little bit of my steak.
Music way too loud!! And it was bad modern rock type of music which does not go with the style of a French bistro. Where's the French music???!
Many good restaurants are great the first time . The second time is often not quite as good. THIS restaurant was GREAT the first time and was even better the second time. I very highly recommend this restaurant. They're consistently EXCELLENT.
The onion soup was bland, watery, and mushy. The salad was skimpy
It was am unusually quiet Saturday night. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful. We reach liked our dishes, ranging from lamb chops, coq au vin, mussles and branzino to raspberry tart for dessert.
Food was excellent and much better than the vast majority of French bistros. I had the foie gras for appetizer and the Coq au Vin for entrée. Outstanding. I thought it was one of the best I've ever had. I highly recommend it.
Great place for good food and conversation. It is one of the few restaurants in Greenwich where you can actually talk to and hear your companions.
My husband and I had a tough week and I didn't want to cook, so we decided to do an impromptu date night and went to Bistro V upon the recommendation of a friend. Our meal ended up being the highlight of my week - it was so delicious and we had such a good time talking and joking with the staff. I like wine, but I'm not much of a connoisseur when it comes to all the names and different types.... our waiter was super knowledgeable and patient with me in helping to pick the perfect wine to go with my amazing steak frites. My husband had the mussels, and they looked bomb... and this is coming from someone who doesn't even like mussels, TBH. We actually ended the evening up at the bar and I had 2 amazing cocktails, I honestly forgot what they were called, but the manager was telling me that they develop many of the drinks themselves, which I thought was super cool! Anyway, in conclusion, this place is awesome, we're going back this weekend to try their brunch!
One of the best food experiences I may have ever had...from the ambience to the service to the food to the wine pairings to the cocktails. Friendly waiting staff, magnificent management, Chantelle took great care of us. We are looking forward in going back soon!
