   Great restaurant in Bowral with very good service and excellent food, can highly recommend it.

   Not sure if it was an off night but the wait staff were disinterested and inattentive. Food was good.

   Dinner was just acceptable because entrée and main were good. However service after this point was dreadful - waiting an age for dessert to be delivered. Further the dessert quality was really below standard with stale strawberries being served in one dessert and cocoa powder being used to attempt to disguise the look of it! The remaining ingredients in the Eton Mess were also terrible. Stale meringue in a soupy disaster. Wait staff were also not available to top up drinks, neither were we offered a second round of drinks. In general, when it was obvious the kitchen were having trouble sending out desserts on time, the waiters were going out of their way to avoid diners (walking through the bar to get to the kitchen so as to avoid customers!

   Have enjoyed two very nice lunches here. Menu is always interesting and food executed very well. And very well priced. Service is casual and attentive. Decent and affordable wine list and very comfortable surroundings. A nice room with leafy aspect and views across gardens. When the doors are open and the lovely Bowral air sails through, it's a really nice space. A very Bowral place (without the mega price tag).

   We found the food either over salty or over oily. It is a lovely place to eat, but they need to think about more flavour and the cooking of the food. The steak was dry and lentils salty. The gnocchi was dripping with oil. A real shame.

   We had a lovely evening - good ambience, lovely wait staff, good menu choices and good value. Unfortunately the quality of the food wasn’t as good as it used to be under old ownership. My steak was fine, but the others felt the fish was not tender and the prawn chili pasta was too bland and creamy. I hope you can keep upgrading the quality of food as Bowral needs a restaurant like this one!

   Our evening Dinner booking was perfect. All of our tables guests enjoyed the food, wine, service and atmosphere. However, we attended the Breakfast sitting the next morning as hotel guests and were extremely confused by the terrible service and chaos that unfolded. The breakfast buffet line was slow, cluttered and annoying! The toaster was in the way and held up the line. Many hot food items were missing. The scrambled eggs were watery. The fruit was scarce. The coffee was so slow to get to the table and the orders were incorrect. We can only assume that the bistro was understaffed!

   The ambience was ok. The drinks menu excellent. Noise level absolutely ridiculous. I believe staff need to ask patrons to quieten down. Food sounded wonderful on the menu. The entrees were acceptable. Main courses a disaster. The Pork Toulouse aka pork sausages was inedible. The blame was directed at the supplier rather than the way it was cooked. The rib was so dry (was ordered well done) my partner nearly choked. Once again inexperienced cooking. My course was basically snags and mash and my partners was steak and chips. The bar staff very inexperienced. Need more staff to provide a better level of service. With the prices chaged this is affordable.

    Everything about Bistro Sociale was fantastic, not a fantastic as my date though.
