Mother’s Day dinner!
As always, the food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the ambience was delightful.
Our favorite spot to visit whenever in Yountville. Authentic, high quality. A little gem.
Beautiful building, great restaurant layout and ambiance.
Tomato soup in puff pastry is fantastic
Crab Souffle was just OK. Very cheesy, maybe too cheesy.
Sole Meuniere was amazing. Fish on a bed of buttery mashed potatoes with capers and some lemon juice.
Filet au Poivre was exceptional. Peppery crust, rich sauce.
Service was fantastic and extremely attentive.
What i appreciate most is how it felt like a true French Bistro. Portions were large, ambiance was very welcoming, and there’s a nice neighborhood feel to it despite being in a touristy town. Highly recommend
The rabbit was the best we ever had! I had the mussels and it was enough for 2
Delicious deviled eggs and sumptuous steak tartare!
Fabulous food. Attentive service.
We have frequented Bistro Jeanty for the last 25 years and looked forward to another great meal. Unfortunately the restaurant failed in so many ways on this visit. The service was quite slow even though it was not that busy, I had to ask twice for water. Further we had to stop a server to request our finished plates be removed . The most disappointing was the food. The ribeye steak, that was always fabulous, was very fatty -clearly a poor cut of meat. The same with my wife’s filet. This was either a very off night for the staff or the restaurant has lost their premium touch for both food and service. I am hopeful this was just an off night. Our experience here was the low point of an otherwise fabulous trip.
My daughter, a mother of four, lives a couple of hours away from me. The first Thursday of every month we meet somewhere for the afternoon, not only to visit but for her to get some R she was always smiling, always welcoming, and very informative. We shared 4 appetizers and one dessert and three glasses of wine, over a two hour period. Everything was more than delicious, it was truly outstanding, and we loved being in such a lovely environment.
One of the best restaurants in Napa. Outstanding food and ambience.
Like a visit to France! Delicious and comfortable!
The food was delicious though could have used a bit of salt in some spots. Little mixup on the reservation was quickly resolved. Seating outside was comfortable and perfect for bringing our dog. Crispy pigs feet were amazing. You have to try the Urban Bourbon cocktail. The cassoulet is a lot of food and all fantastic.
Service at the bar was very good. Food was outstanding and served timely.
Incredible all around! Will definitely be back. Best night ever on the patio!
Fantastic authentic and creative French cuisine - nuff said!
Fine counrty french food to warm your heart. Spetacluar service. You don't go home hungry.
Food delicious, fun atmosphere. Our waiter was a shade less than attentive. Others picked up the slack as it were so overall service was great
Everything was top notch
We go every time we visit Napa - always great food and service!
Classic French techniques and quality ingredients set this bistro apart. Would strongly recommend the French Onion Soup!
Despite being required to wait outside for 20-minutes to be seated for our reservation this is not so much a restaurant failure, however, still annoying. Food & wait staff were excellent with a nice selection of classic French Bistro style fare. As most people in the Yountville area we are avid collectors and drinkers of wine. For our party of (4) we brought (2) classic French burgundies to share over dinner. Our wines were not on the modest house wine list in any vintage or producer, yet BJ thinks their corkage policy is somehow justified to employ a progressive ever increasing charge for each bottle brought to the table. There is zero justification for this except to take advantage of their customers. We spent a good sum of money at dinner and the wine charge was small by comparison but the principal speaks of contempt for their guests.
Overall a solid meal. Service was fine and helpful with suggestions but not very attentive. My cassoulet was particularly good, however we waited outside for 20 minutes for our table to be ready. No one else was waiting. Due to Covid, table seating inside was somewhat limited and they have a card on the tables explaining the length of time you have for your meal depending on party size (plenty of time, btw). When we inquired as to the holdup for a table the hostess said the group at our table was taking longer than expected- so my wife suggested that they simply explain to that party that we were waiting for it and the hostess said, “Well, we don’t do that.” So then why bother with the table cards at all. We asked if we could get a drink while we waited (they didn’t suggest it) and they said two of our party of 4 could go to the bar while the other two remained outside (totally understand due to Covid) - the thing is, due to the inconveniences we felt they should have comped the drinks - they didn’t offer and I didn’t ask. Also, they weren’t very apologetic about us having to wait. A better hostess probably could have smoothed the situation, but instead we had a bad taste in our mouths right from the start. The impression was that Bistro Jeanty was doing us a favor by letting us eat at their restaurant.
Hallelujah the Quiche is back! And it was delicious. We ate at the bar last night and John the server was super nice and attentive. So this is still my favorite restaurant in Yountville. And we have reservations for 4 more dinners there.
Great service. Good food
As always, the food at Bistro Jeanty was amazing however the service this visit was quite poor. The host, busser, and runners did a great job but we were largely ignored by our server - items were forgotten off our order, 2nd drink orders were ignored, and we were left to eat $43 steak on our bread plates with butter knives. Very frustrating to say the least.
I will return for the food, but I'll make sure to sit at the bar where I know the service is good.
C'est comme la France ! (It feels like France) Great food, great wines and cocktails too !
It's our best meal in Napa Valley. Everything is so delicious and beautifully presented. Crispy pigs feet w/ mustard sauce and Dungeness crab soufflé w/ whiskey sauce were just amazing. Beef cheek just melt in your mouth. Don't forget to save room for bread pudding! Service was excellent. We sat in the outdoor seating for our Sunday brunch. Even so the restaurant took very good covid precautions by skipping tables.
We had the best dining experience in Napa. Reservation is definitely recommended
As usual, this place has amazing food and service. They literally do not miss a beat. This is one of my favorite places in the Bay Area, and possibly in all of the US. Perfection.
Great food great service great location. One of our favorites in the Napa valley. A can’t miss for authentic French cuisine.
It was a little disappointing. Two of My favorite things, the quiche and raw oysters are no longer on the menu. The escargot didn't have the same flavor (,not enough garlic maybe) and definitely wasn't as buttery. I had a special if fish soup and was expecting something with solid fish in it but it was pureed. The server offered to take it back and get me something else but It was tasty. Then I had the Vegan dish of portobello mushrooms which was good. Bistro Jeanty has always been my favorite restaurant in Yountville. I have at least 5 more reservations there while I am in town so I will have a chance to sample some of the other favorites of mine that are still on the menu.
Our favorite server retired so we will try a few others to see which one we like best.
Truly one of the best places to dine in the Napa Valley. The traditional French fare is outstanding and the daily specials are varied and interesting. Excellent wine list and finally, the service is second to none. Highly recommended!
Bistro Jeanty is one of our favored restaurants in California. Everything we tried over the years is very good to excellent.
New chef. Food is good but not great as it was before
Arturo was an outstanding waiter. Knowledgeable, polite, efficient and helpful. The wine was fabulous, the food exquisite the only downfall was the outdoor seating was a bit chilly, the breeze blowing through and the heaters not on for a while made it a bit cool. Overall outstanding!
We dined outside, which was appropriately heated and had enough room so that we could sit comfortably while following distancing guidelines. Service was prompt but unobtrusive throughout. Perfect.
Our smoked trout salad was simple and perfectly prepared. Our entrees--the portobello and the joue do boeuf--were French country bistro plentiful, richly sauced, and accompanied by perfectly cooked peas, carrots, and pearly onions. Our two desserts, the epoisses fromage in poached pear and the chocolat creme brulee, were also plentiful and the epoisses memorable. All in all, a marvelous meal in a French country atmosphere.
This is a very French bistro. Sit there long enough and you might grow a beret. If you like the fare you usually find in such places you know what to expect. If you don't, best to search elsewhere.
One of my local favorites. Indoor seating is great for a romantic night out.
We had a wonderful time. The service was excellent and the food was exquisite! all in all a fantastic experience! A gastronomical delight!!!
