Chef Arie, inspired by his Cypriot heritage, formal training at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and his years working under Two Star Michelin Chef Philippe Da Silva in Provence, presents cuisine reflective of this coastal style. Longtime customers can still indulge in his classic dishes such as escargot, striped bass with champagne truffle sauce and his own dry aged steaks. The food was amazing, the atmosphere perfect. Highly recommend if you are in the Hampton’s you have to make this restaurant a must
Delicious food and a wonderful setting. We will be back!
This restaurant is so wonderful. The food is always delicious and carefully crafted. I love this place
Bistro Ete has done a wonderful job continuing to provide excellent meals during the pandemic. The outdoor seating area is very comfortable. One of my favorite restaurants in the Hamptons!
We love Bistro Ete, for the warm atmosphere of the husband and wife owners, and their excellent French cuisine.
The food was absolutely delicious!
The owners were the nicest people
The staff was accommodating!
The food is really good here. Portions are small though. And service definitely needs some polish.
After months of trying to get a reservation, we finally were able to have a wonderful dinner on a cold rainy night. The food was amazing, Chef Ari made us a special meal to accommodate an allergy then he suggested the perfect scotch to accompany our dessert! We were thrilled with our entire meal and cannot wait to return in the very near future! Thank you Liz and Ari for making us feel so welcome.
Wonderful food from start to finish, nice to have a memorable dining experience in spite of the challenges of the pandemic
Delicious food & great service. Cute outdoor dining set up with plenty of room. Highly recommend!
We always have a wonderful time at Bistro Ete with great food!
Enjoyed our dinner for the most part. Pleasant hostess and attentive wait staff. Dining room was clean and had a nice easy aesthetic. Started with the clams and spaetzle. Clams were very delicious and broth was out of this world yummy. There was a tiny bit of sand but nothing too crazy. Spaetzle was over-cooked and kind of bland. Next we shared the veal ossobucco, veggie paella and fried artichokes. Veal was excellent. Veggie paella was just ok and a pretty small portion for $30. Fried artichokes were crisp but not sure I would order again. Finished up w/ fruit tart and almond cake. Both were very good.
Great dinner this past Sunday at our favorite restaurant. So excited that the special was Butternut Squash soup(vegan and gluten free)to start. It was delicious and perfect on a chilly night. My husband ordered the pork chop special that came with an Oyster mushroom cream sauce. The next day he told me he was still thinking about how good it was.
We had booked outdoor seating but opted for inside. They were very accommodating and nice considering it was last minute and they were busy that night. Thank you!!!
We usually don’t order dessert but after trying their homemade chocolate mint ice cream last time we ordered it again and even tried the chocolate cookie ice cream....yummy!!
One of the best meals in the Hamptons. Worth the visit! Also very generous with the truffles!
Outdoor ambience were very nice. Great service and excellent food.
Excellent Service. Amazing food. We absolutely loved the experience!!!!
Looking forward to our dinner reservation tomorrow night!! Last week I started with the vegetarian eggplant soup that I honestly was not sure I would like but I LOVED it! I just noticed (yes,I am one of those that looks at the menu online in anticipation for another great dinner)that the special I had last week is on the menu. It’s the Cod with clams and chickpeas served over a delicious broth that was perfect on a chilly night. So torn between that or the Tahini crusted Cod dish I would like to try. So many great choices as well as wonderful service every time. That is why we keep going back!!
The owners of Bistro Ete offer a fabulous menu and delicious meals with excellent service. I rarely take the time to write reviews but Bistro Ete made the effort this past Sunday to provide a wonderful meal to my friends and I so I wanted to let the world know they’re great!
Excellent food, nicely presented, good outdoor dining setup. Would really look forward to going there again if ever back in the area.
My boyfriend and I are not from the area, so choosing a restaurant based on reviews was key for planning our night. The atmosphere on the patio was great, food smelled good, lively chatter. Our night took a turn when we got to the hostess stand. Our reservation was for 9pm, and arrived on time. We were waiting for someone to greet and seat us, but we’re left standing there as waiters rushed past. The hostess finally greets us, after also rushing past us. I get it, it’s obviously a busy night, I’m not holding that against them. What I will hold against them is the fact that despite making a reservation for outdoor dining, we are informed they do not have a table for us. We could either wait or eat inside. At this point 20 minutes have past, so we decided to eat inside. Our waiter was very nice, but would come over sparingly. We ordered the truffle spazel to share, the scallops, and the steak. The spazel was delicious, as were the scallops. We were unimpressed by the steak. It was slightly overcooked, thrown on top of a bed of greens, with a side of the “potato poppers” that honestly looked like “home fries” that I could get at any highway diner, not what I expect from a $$$$ French restaurant. The portions were also off. My plate had 3 scallops placed on top of small beds of spinach, with a small scoop of rice in the center of the dish. It was a fine serving, but it looked like an appetizer compared to the overfilled steak dish. Though the food was good, we were put off by the amount of time it took to finally get our meals. To the point where I had asked our waiter for an ETA. We were told it’s a little busy, but they will be right out. “Right out” was 20 minutes later. Judging by the conversation with the waiter at other tables, we were not alone in wondering where our meals were. What also was off putting was the yelling and cursing coming from the kitchen. I work in the industry, I’m used to angry chefs, but NEVER have any of those chefs, been heard by guests.
good food, I had cod. very good. specialty drinks very good too
tables outside and socially distanced
will definitely go back
Outstanding and creative dishes with flavors that never cease to impress. Feels like the old Lutece has arrived in Water Mill !
Lovely outdoor dining option in Watermill. The food was NYC pricing without that level of flavor - a few dishes were one note and under salted. The duck was over-smoked and inedible to me (and I love duck). The onion soup needed salt, and the cod dinner was one note. The best thing we had was the burrata app.
Food was innovative and well prepared. Great use of seasonal ingredients and flavors were beautiful. The wooden bowls for the pasta dishes was my only turn off...clunky and too big.
Another great date night with the hubby at Bistro Ete. This time we both had the ceviche for appetizers (no sharing we love ceviche). I had the(always perfectly cooked)scallops in a pomegranate sauce and my husband had the Veal Osso Buco. We were pleasantly surprised by Liz with her favorite dish before our entrees came out, the Truffleize with Fresh Shaved Summer Truffles. What a treat!! It was delicious. Thank you very much Liz!
We sat outside on a fairly cold night but planned ahead and bundled up. It was perfect.
Unfortunately we were so into our food I only took a picture of the ceviche when it came out, also midway through our entree and as you can see from the pictures we pretty much cleaned our plates. In addition, kudos for always have WARM rosemary buns with butter(optional). Not every restaurant warms their bread/buns. Until the next date night....thank you Bistro Ete!
Foie gras was delicious, but served without crackers or bread. Osso buco and the pasta ragu were delicious. The staff are really friendly and accommodating. The wine is overpriced. We ate outside and it was a bit chilly. We'll definitely try again once indoor dining is open.
Everything was terrific. Great service, food, wine and ice cream!
One of the top 3 restaurants on the East End of Long Island
Very nice place. Cute outdoor seating. Very French. The drinks were fantastic. Food was delicious albeit a little too salty fir my taste.
Had a long overdue date night with the hubby at our favorite restaurant in the Hamptons. As always the food was phenomenal...great flavors. We had the tomatoe Asiago(yummy)and ceviche appetizers. Main dishes we had the tuna with fattouche dressing(delicious)and steak frites. Already made our reservation for next Sunday. The outdoor seating was very romantic and followed social distancing rules. Highly recommended.
Consistently delicious food and cocktails. Conscientious staff. Plenty of space outdoors.
We had an amazing meal and service was excellent. A great spot to celebrate our anniversary. Would definitely go back.
I was disappointed. The small table and seating was quite uncomfortable. The service delivery was quite slow and the food was not hot. Seemed they didn’t have sufficient staff for the numbers of diners. It was hard to get the attention of the waiter. The steak I ordered was not high quality. Very fatty and grizzly. I don’t mind paying high prices for a quality dining experience. Sadly this was not a great experience.
Overall an outstanding experience. The food most delectable and the service was gracious and attentive
Love Bistro Ete
Since we can't eat inside, I was expecting either a tent or umbrellas at the well-spaced tables but no sign of either. It was getting chilly sitting outside at 8pm.. Luckily we were placed at a table near the building...
Terrible rude owner who yells at her customers. Nice servers who seemed stressed. Great food. Hope they improve.
amazing fresh from the garden food. great options for vegans too!!
Excellent food and the owners Liz and Ari makes you feel you are part of the family ( a nice family, of course)
I’m a New Yorker and use to very good food for these prices. But that was the least of the problems. The only main course that was excellent was the Duck. The Tuna was way over cooked and the Steak Frites was dry and flavorless. The pasta dish was overly dressed with cream. I’m not sure how they received so many good reviews perhaps we went on an off night. It was lovely sitting in the outside dining.
