   As close as you can get to a small French restaurant in Houston. Very casual French and good fun with an engaging staff. Great wine.

   Great foie gras and bread service. Wine only no cocktails, kind of a bummer. Service friendly but hard to obtain, even though not all tables full. Server forgot the appetizer for one of our party, disrupting the timing of the meal. Entrees all arrived together - the fish had been warmed so long it didn’t cool down in the time everyone else ate, and mushy. Recommend skipping the desserts- super sweet but not tasty . It was fine, fair value but nothing special. Also for special occasion, noted in reservation, nothing done to acknowledge the birthday by the restaurant.

   04/25. Upon arriving we were greeted promptly by the hostess and taken to the table. There we were offered a choice of water. Our wait staff were very attentive the entire evening, and the courses were delivered with minimal waiting. The menu has excellent choices for all courses, and the salads were very fresh and delicious. 2 of us were craving for beef bourguinion, which was outstanding and plentiful. The wines are top notch and reasonably priced- we enjoyed 2 bottles of Bandol red.2 of us enjoyed cool sorbet and a pistachio ice cream for dessert, after which we were totally satisfied. This is an excellent spot for adults who enjoy great food and wine in a refined but casual atmosphere.We have been here about 5 times. Conversation is easy here with minimal noise. I love the menu choices, the service, and the wines. Going back next month for the lobster pot pie!

   Delicious food in a casual, rustic restaurant. Our server was attentive and, with the exception of forgetting a glass of wine, was efficient. We started with the frisée lyonnaise salad and the beet salad. I had the roasted red snapper and my husband had the bavette steak with bordelaise sauce and pommes frites. Everything was delectable and piping hot.

   The food was amazing & the service was perfect. I have allergies & the waitress was so nice & made sure my food was safe for me to eat.

   The escargot was outstanding as well as the L'entrecote Frites. My husband and I shared a bottle of the light and silky Pinot Noir. The surprise birthday dessert for my husband was a nice touch. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and service oriented. We enjoyed this small, quaint restaurant and atmosphere. This was our first but certainly not our last visit to Bistro 555!

    We really enjoyed our dining experience at this cozy restaurant. The food was outstanding. Try the butternut squash soup. Also, the servers were very attentive throughout the evening. I highly recommend the Bistro 555!
