We have always been happy with our dinners at Bistro 555. It is a small scale neighborhood bistro that isn't a chain nor the latest "concept" of a restaurant group (thank goodness). And as appreciators of French wine we like the wine list very much!

One of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. Wide range of menu choices. Great food. Nice wine list, but all French. (Ask for recommendations.) Wonderful, friendly staff. Always an enjoyable experience.

We had a great experience. Began with a light salad to share. Crisp! On to mussels and trout. Both were terrific! Ended with a wonderful pistachio sundae. The restaurant was crowded but the staff was brilliant. Highly recommend

It exceeded my expectations. Two of us had duck confit pate as an appetizer. The other had escargot. Both were delicious. One person had salmon with bernaise; great. Two of us had roasted trout. Absolutely delicious. It was a whole trout, not just one filet. It was easy to peal back the crisp skin an enjoy the trout which was fileted. There were some herbs inside the trout which did not over power the dish. Our server, Blanca was attentive without being over bearing. We share a bottle of Cremant (similar to Champagne) which was a great pairing to our dinner. I am looking forward to returning again soon.

Had HRW menu. Really enjoyed the pate and chicken paprika. My companion said the salmon was excellent. Great service and ambiance. Extensive French wine list at reasonable prices.

I’m a regular costumer! I ordered onion soup, definitely was not fresh, the cheese they cover the soup was not fresh, looks like a rubber! I will never order onion soup again late night! I invited a friend for the first time to try the soup, so ashamed!

The food was edible. I wasn't disgusted by it or anything. But the soup I had (a cold bisque) didn't really do it for me. And the quiche, a bit different than I had had before, okay not great. The wine was good. The seating is a little crowded and it was a bit noisy.

Mussels is too creamy. If these is light options, that will be better. As the duck confit dish, it’s not what I expected in France; the pork belly pizza is the best for what I ordered.

Felt totally unwelcome. Bright lights. No Ambiance. Indifferent staff. Odd table arrangement. Not allowed seating options despite many other clear tables. Our table was directly under a very bright light. Decided not to stay - simply got up and left and the staff appeared unconcerned. Will not go back.

Absolutely amazing experience. The food was absolutely amazing. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The creme brule is the best I’ve had and alone makes me want to return to Houston. We had three whole bottles of wine because it was so tasty and the service was top tier.

We went to Bistro 555 for the first time for Bastille Day and loved everything about it! It is a cozy, very French space -absolutely charming! We each had a different fish dish (trout and redfish) and both were perfectly prepared and delicious. But actually, the fresh bread (with some wine) would have made a perfect meal, as well. Service was friendly and on point. The wine list was all French and reasonably priced and although we were not familiar, we loved the wines we chose. We spent a good part of the dinner planning when we could come back. This is exactly the French restaurant we have been looking for!

The fish was not prepared well. The blood line not cleaned and didn’t smell good. Had to send it back. This is the third time we gave it a chance. It’s not worth the effort.

Very good dining experience. Food was great. Service may have been a little slow but that was ok. It is a charming small restaurant. A nice change of pace from the typical Houston restaurant. Had more of a feel of a restaurant in an older big city.
