Enjoyed Sunday Jazz Brunch on 3/8/2020. Service was a little sketchy. Had to ask about drink specials, ask for coffee/water refills, cream and jelly. BUT the food was delicious and the entertainment great. We had a great time, the perfect way to spend our last morning in New Orleans.

Our dinner could have been great, but too many little things went wrong. The server was great but unfortunately he was the only one serving the entire restaurant. Our issues were only with the food, not the service. He told us that other 2 people called out, if I had to make a guess one of them was the chef! Items came out incorrect, stale or burned - we sent them back and were not charged. The food that was correct was just ok. I was disappointed in our overall experience because there are so many great restaurants in New Orleans. I would not return to this one.

We got a reservation at Bistreaux on New Year's Eve. We are locals who wanted to go down to the Quarter for the fireworks on the riverfront. Bistreaux was the best located restaurant for that, and had good reviews. Upon our arrival, we were about 10 minutes early and sat at the bar until our table was ready. There was a jazz band playing in one corner, which was nice but made it very hard to hear even on the opposite side of the room where we were eventually seated. We ordered Spinach Dip, and I got an Old Fashioned. I, admittedly, look young, but my waiter made a point of interrogating me about my age before finally asking for an ID and verifying what I was telling him. After I got my drink, we did not hear from or see our waiter for an hour. At 9:30, after ordering at 8:30, our appetizer arrived. The food was good, and we were both excited for our entrees. Another hour passed. We have been at the restaurant for just over 2 hours, and have spoken with our waiter 3 times. At this point, our friends who ate at a restaurant far away downtown had finished their food and walked to where we were supposed to meet them at 10:30. I asked a different waitress if she could check on our food, a club sandwich and a steak (ordered from a smaller than normal menu that did not contain the dishes we had planned to order when we researched the restaurant online). After about 15 minutes without hearing back from her, we got up and told the hostess/manager that we were leaving without eating because we were going to be late for meeting our friends. We ended up eating a pretzel from a street vendor. What was intended to be a nice New Years date almost ruined our night, and if not for the relentless positivity of my girlfriend I would have been miserable for the rest of it. If you are staying in the hotel that it is attached to, I might be able to understand eating at Bistreaux, but there are so many better places to eat at this price point in the area. I will not be going back.

We walked past Bistreaux on one of our walks through the French Quarter during our week in New Orleans and decided to try it for brunch on our last day. It was an excellent and thoroughly enjoyable choice. Why this place wasn't packed to the gills is a mystery, but that was lucky for us. Great seating, great service, really great food and even a Dixieland quartet. Go there. You'll love it!

Drove 2 hours and arrived at 2:00pm as a surprise lunch date with fiancé - there is complimentary valet parking which is amazing in the Quarter - the restaurant is beautiful - the hand painted murals are breathtaking - the food was incredible - I had the étouffée and my fiancé had the burger - both were absolutely delicious, probably the best étouffée I’ve had in my life!! However, the service was terrible - our server kept disappearing, at one point he was standing at the end of the bar or close by rolling silverware, I ran out of water twice, my fiancé three times, had to go to the bar to ask for the server to tell him we needed the check, waited another 10 minutes for him to bring it - it was really bad! Overall, the food was wonderful, would gladly eat there again, but would definitely want a different server!

Atrocious service, some of the worst I've seen. We were expecting the regular menu, but were met with a holiday menu that hadn't been advertised on the website. We could choose from an alternate menu, which we did. The fish was very over cooked and the chicken as well. We believe it was microwaved. Vegetables were undercooked. Appetizer never came and change back from the bill took fifteen minutes.
