Bisou
Restaurant was packed zero consideration for social distance past 8pm the opened tables next to us (literally next to us) were filled as the night went on (our reservation was at 6:30)
So I've been here quite a few times over the past couple of years, mostly because I live in the apartments above and its convenient along with the other restaurants in the District, however i have not been inside since COVID. The food is usually great and the drinks good (when everything doesn't take forever) but the service is usually terrible. But that is not what this review is about. I've tried to go and sit on the patio a few times since the reopening and unless its a Tuesday evening or you're going to be done before 6:30/7 do not even try unless you want Covid, even the patio is jam packed.
Today it was announced on the news that the owners "The Cle Group" has had their liquor licence suspended at two of their other properties. 90 days for Spire (2 previous suspensions) and 60 days for Cle (only one previous suspension. In addition Bisou once had their license suspended for 30 days, I found this out when my roommate and i wandered down for cocktails on the patio and we were told without any explanation that they were "not serving alcohol tonight", we then walked across the street to ouzo bay for drinks and a quick google search led me to the TABC website and the status of their liquor license. Imagine my surprise when less than a week later they were back up and running with crowds so packed you couldn't move inside and a line out the door! Wonder who they paid off for that to happen!
Long story short don't spend your money here, the owners are that special type that thinks they're better than everyone else and the rules don't apply to them.
awesome place
Outstanding food. The brunch was a great value as well.
The decour is trying to do too much, but can appreciate the marble tables.
Probably need a better drink menu. It’s sunday morning not everyone is trying to buy a $600 bottle after a night out.
Social distancing was non existent. The food was okay! It wasn’t worth it
Thursday was awesome, not too much crowd. But Friday was too packed and the sitting arrangement was too close for my liking, Covid et-all.
The shrimp and grits is very bland and has absolutely no flavor. I took one bite added the bbq sauce and took another bite. I didn’t ask for my money back because I hate doing that. But I did return my full plate. My cousin ate the hangover which was absolutely amazing!!! The waiter was awful! The hostess was really nice! The saxophonist was exceptional!
Great ambiance and delicious food. The saxophonist was a really nice touch. Went for brunch and most definitely will to return to try dinner.
Our waiter Trevor was AMAZING!! Very accommodating and friendly and because of that reason and the quality of food we’ll def be visiting again :)
I really enjoyed myself here. I am new to Houston and my first experience at this restaurant was amazing. I will definitely come back!
Food was great. It’s such a chic place. I love the Sax player he’s always great. My only thing was they started to seat people too close to my table: right next to each other. So I was just a little Covid-anxious
Service was not so fast. We had to search where the waiter was inside the restaurant to order. We had outdoor seating and there was none when we entered the restaurant. Food was very good. Nice location and beautiful decor inside
Sat us 2 feet apart from next table ignoring any idea of covid protocols. Charged 20% gratuity on set menu with a waiter who only showed her face twice.
The food was great! The waiter was awesome! We had a great time in New Year Eve.
Service was very slow. Food was mediocre.
Oysters and shishito peppers are AMAZING! Not very COVID-19 compliant so it makes you feel a little uncomfortable being seating so close to other tables. VERY small tables
Great atmosphere, mediocre food , drunk guest. Would not recommend for a quite date night
Overall a nice experience, however my interaction with the manager regarding settling our bill could have been better.
Excelent place, drink and food
love love love this place!!!!
All around pretty pathetic. Service was awful and unprofessional. They had us spaced apart about 2’ at first and finally put us in a booth after some discussion.
Food was okay but not great. Won’t go back.
When my Waiter came to Our table with their mask under their nose, I wish I would’ve turned around and left.
We were visiting from out of town and this restaurant was recommended to us. The staff was professional and friendly. The food was great and the ambiance was really fun.
It was okay.
Really did not enjoy experience. Terrible service from the moment I walked in. Way overpriced. Not coming back.
Very crowded. It was like eating bar food in a night club. They took my wife’s drink while it was still half way. When I brought to their attention they just smiled and walked off. Awesome DJ, knew how to read the room and provided a great party atmosphere 👍🏽. Highlight of the evening.
Super crowded especially with Covid-19. No social distancing or masks worn. The tables were super close together and when leaving it was standing room only like a club. The food was either over seasoned or lacked flavor.
Had a great time for my birthday dinner! Can’t wait to go back for a Sunday funday!
Love this place. Great food great drinks and amazing atmosphere.
Very nice place, nothing can go wrong at this place, if something goes wrong, is probably a good thing, great location, really good food and excellent service.
My wife loved it! And if she loves it, we all love it and we're all happy!
In all seriousness, service was perfect, our Thanksgiving meal was delicious and we had a wonderful time. Thank you.
Very nice and enjoyable place to eat outside. The food was delicious.
An email was sent about a ladies night special on Thanksgiving Eve from 7 pm to midnight. When we arrived for our 7pm reservation the waiter did not know anything about it - he said happy hour ended at 7 pm and the special started at 8 pm. I asked for manager and showed him email. He agreed to give us the drinks for half price. If you send out emails about specials please inform your staff so that they are aware of the details. Not a nice situation for both of us.
Ambiance was loud because of the night experience it’s turns into a club. Food was not as good as the restaurant
This place is terrible, the service, food, a bad experience, I thought that just because it was in the Riveroaks district...., a mistake
Food was very disappointing. No social distancing
First time and the service was perfect.
The food and management were great. We had a 730 reservation, however someone was placed next to us less than 1 foot apart. The manager quickly accommodated us being that we wanted to be socially distant. Trevor our 1st waiter was great, as well. I would recommend Bisou even though seating was over booked during a pandemic.
It was extremely packed, I was inches away from the party next to me on both sides. It felt more like a night club. Wouldn’t recommend going overall like a 2.5/10
Went for drinks with a friend. Bartenders are rude!
