Biscuits & Buns on Banks
Everything was mediocre at best - we left feeling we could have made our own breakfast better. Eggs over cooked. Sausage felt microwaves. Grits seemed an odd color and biscuit wasn’t cooked through.
We won't be back. I went to Biscuits & Buns with a party of 10 for my birthday. When we arrived, our table(s) were not ready, so we sat awkwardly until other customers left so we could use their tables and chairs. The appetizers were the best part of the meal. When our entrees were served all the eggs were really dry. My son ordered an omelet, but the egg was so dry he ate it like a taco. I had the wafflewich with ham & brie. It sounds great but had little brie on it, with no "sauce" to melt it all together. I guess I expect things with cheese and eggs to melt together and be nice and gooey. This food was not.
I loved the food it was my first time there and I was full to the core. It was pretty busy and the space is more small yet intimate like a family dining experience. Fresh, hot food, it did take awhile but the love was shown in the taste of the food. I'm looking forward to visiting my next trip back to New Orleans!
The restaurant only had a few occupied tables when we entered. We were sat immediately but it took 10 minutes to get menus. 1/2 if our parties order came out then 8 minutes later the other half got their food. The food was excellent.
We went as a group of 6 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. There were specialty items on the menu for those adventurous diners in our group and basic egg and biscuit meals for those that weren’t. The omelets were excellent and their sweet honey nut butter for the biscuits was so good we asked for some to go. The waffles were also delicious. Staff was excellent. Would highly recommend them to others.
The service and atmosphere is great! Cute place, cute name but all 6 of us were disappointed with the food. The biscuits are too dense with no flavor, and with Biscuits in their name of the place we were expecting great biscuits. Many items we had were just soso. The chorizo appetizer tasted like canned hotdog chili. I'm sorry, I'm not one to usually complain but all 6 of us will never return.
This is not a good restaurant for large parties or busy days of the year. My family and I went for Mother’s Day and it took over an hour for our food to come and when the food did come it came one plate at a time. Needless to say some people were finished eating while some didn’t have their food just yet.
The food was to die for!!
Small and quaint with a lively atmosphere! Love that you can bring your own champagne 😎 and they’ll put it on ice for you! Crab cakes were perfection!
Great place. Our reservation was ready and we had a great waiter. He gave excellent service. The place is small but quaint. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. No alcohol served but you could byob. If you have a large group I would make a reservation since limited seating. I would highly recommend!
Perfect! We had so much fun learning a new restaurant spot in the city!
The staff was so accommodating and kind, and we loved sitting outside with our pup! They even let us BYOB for mimosas. Outstanding service.
Excellent!!!!! Crab cakes are tremendous!!!
Not the greatest food or service
The appetizer biscuits and gravy were very different from expected. The gravy was very good, just wish they had more with the biscuits. They made sure everything came out good and gave extra service. I had three eggs with bacon, toast, and potatoes - excellent breakfast.
Biscuits and Buns was delicious! I recommend making a reservation well in advance (especially if you have a larger party) because it is a small restaurant. The food was delicious, it just took awhile to come to our table due to a very busy Sunday morning brunch service. I'd certainly go back if I ever travel to New Orleans again!
Our waitress was amazing, super nice and always smiling. The art on the wall was cool but that was about as far as the good went. We ordered the mini biscuits which were sitting in a crock pot. They were super dry and the chorizo gravy was a watery flavorless soup. Our meals were both average at best. Kids waffles were the only decent thing. It's hard to mess up breakfast and this place has found a way to do it. Food seemed lazy and bland. Didn't taste fresh
Everything was great - service was phenomenal and food arrived amazingly fast!
We were a group of 6 with reservations. We were seated right away and the food was delicious!! A small restaurant with a family feel.
When I received the food, it was wrong. My omelette had toppings I didn’t order. Also, I didn’t appreciate my server rushing me away from the table once I was finished. He advised me and my guest to take the conversation outside because there was others waiting. I found that to be very rude and unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend this place again.
Excellent brunch. Don’t miss the waffles with Brie and berry compote!
The Gravy over Chicken and Biscut is a must have! Moist chicken and flavorful gravy is a great start to any respectable persons morning.
Great food. Great service.
Great place for brunch. Food and service was really good. The waffles are great and the biscuits are even better! It was a great place with a fun atmosphere. I highly recommend this place for great food!
Great atmosphere and creative menu! We were looking for a breakfast spot that felt like New Orleans and this place was perfect.
