Our waiter was very informal and didn’t show much care or respect. We were a group of young adults but we were in formal attire, yet we didn’t feel appreciated. Some of my friends enjoyed their meals but I didn’t enjoy mine. The prices and menu were different from everything else I had seen elsewhere, driving it up to an official overpriced burger rating (in my opinion). Will not be returning.
Everything and everyone was just the way we like them to be.
Great place for drinks and pizza, tried the Alfredo pizza, excellent crust and flavor!!!! Nice place to hang out prior to go to the theater!!!
The booth we requested was available of food was delicious our server was fabulous wonderful experience
We always dine at Birraporetti's when we're downtown for a show. Sometimes before, sometimes after, sometimes both. Just seems like the cool place to go.
My wife an I went to the restaurant at 6:00 pm with a reservation. We were seated an then we ordered a glass of wine an water while looking at the menu. Ten minutes later we order, we received are wine and a salad. Fifty minutes later after a lot of waving we finally got our dinner. Both of them were Luke warm at best, but we only had 35 minutes left to eat an walk to the show. Had I had more time I would have sent it back. We have dined here for the last fifteen years without any issues. This visit was embarrassing. It looked like they only had two waiters an probably not much more in the kitchen. If your limited on staff I get it, but don’t fill your restaurant thinking we all are there for sub par service and food quality.
We had a marvelous dinner. Our server was exceptional. Will be back again and again.
Food always good, atmosphere as well. My family always enjoys going before or after plays, symphony, etc. Service was a little slow, but not bad. Highly recommend.
I go there for the Sunday Buffet. The highlight are their vegetables, which were excellent. Usually they have fish but not this time. They had chicken which was pretty dry and beef that was pretty hard to eat. Hopefully they will have fish next time. The deserts were great.
Food was bland. Service was good and we were seated right in the walking path out of the kitchen.
Always a great spot for pre theatre dining for us! Service is so timely and we have never been late to our show because of late service! Food is consistently good and it’s a 2 min walk to HGo or Alley!
Great place to eat before the theatre.
The lunch menu had good options. Plenty of availability during lunch. Service was slow but it appeared to be a small staff. Would return.
Seated immediately and acknowledged by waiter almost as fast. Food was outstanding! They also held our leftovers until after the performance at Jones Hall.
Food was very good and was delivered to our table in reasonable time. It was wise to have a reservation, because the restaurant was busy. The atmosphere was beautiful. Calm & peaceful, lending itself to table conversation. All in all a very good value. We will go back again.
We had excellent service with Blair as our waiter and food was excellent. We had a party of six, having dinner before going to Jones Hall. Blair guided us on our food selections and made sure in came out in a timely matter. All six dinners were excellent. No question about where to go when dinning in the theater district, we will return.
Always an enjoyable experience
We have the prix fix menu and it was very good. The waiter was patient and willing to accommodate a slight modification and I look forward to going back.
Wonderful New Year Eve. Restaurant beautifully decorated for the holidays. Excellent food and service. Thoroughly enjoyed the live music
Enjoyed a nice dinner prior to show performance next door. Service was attentive and understood our timing. The food was delicious, hot and fresh. Will go again!
Good value, pizzas are the best and service is efficient and friendly
Downtown for A Christmas Carol at Alley Theatre with my parents and family. The actual meal was good. The service was some of the worst I have ever experienced. 5:30 dinner reservations. Restaurant was not busy at all. Our server had only one table other than us. It took our server Antonio 25 minutes to greet the table. No apologies, no formal greeting, no name introduction. Just walked up and says “You know what you want to drink?” 45 minutes from when we sat to get our glass of wine for my parents. Again no apologies, no urgency, no real interest in our waiter to serve us. 75 minutes before we even got our dinner order in and only because now we went and cook d him for a second time to get the process going. I had to go to the bar to get a glass of wine for my wife and I as well. No water refills. No refills of my daughters tea. Again we had to find someone to get us more water as we all had empty glasses. Dinner was very good, food was wonderful. Our waiter was very attentive when it came time to get me the check and then hovered near by to pick up a signed copy of the bill when I was done. Other waiters seemed to be very attentive and eager to give good service. Antonio seemed to be more interested in hanging out in the back. I’m sending this privately because I never saw a manager to discuss with and one didn’t come by our table to check on us during our two hour meal either.
We were ignored. My wine never arrived and bartender told me the order had never been placed. Salad plates were not removed. Missing silverware on table. Long wait for Check. Waiter was visible in small room off dining room, playing with his phone. Get him another job!
Food was delicious
From all the rave reviews we were very excited. That ended when the food arrived. Zero seasoning, it was obvious our food sat in the pass (window) for at least 10 minutes. Our pasta was dried out and sauce had a thick skin on it from sitting and the steak used for my pasta dish literally looked chewed and cooked..wonder what meat scrapes they REALLY were. Only saving Grace was our awesome server!
Only way I can guess this place is still open is being so close to the theater….then again…Olive Garden would be a vast improvement over this trap.
Great place to eat if you are going to a theater performance.
The food was fine and is reasonably priced. And, the service is typically friendly and timely. This time around, though, we had two challenges. The waiter placed the wrong appetizer order (at least the one he did place was cheaper) and he needed to be reminded twice to get our wine order. For the latter issue, we were done eating before the wine arrived and it didn't even occur to him to offer to comp it.
Had a great experience, we were seated promptly. Food was excellent. Location conveniently located. Would definitely recommend
The cheese ravioli and club sandwich was less than expected, appetizer, dessert, and service was excellence.
It was perfect. Food was great, service was stellar and the ambiance was spot on.
Wonderful experience! Perfecr place to dine before ballet.
Service was very slow, took over 30 minutes to get our check after asking for it. Food was not as good as past times.
This was the best dinner and the best service we have ever had at Birraporetti‘s prior to going to the nutcracker. It was absolutely wonderful thank you
Houston Pops “VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS” concert. Could not have been a better dining experience.
Excellent food quality and portion size. The entire staff was professional and attentive.
Can't wait to return.
The food was exceptional. Our reservation was right on time. The staff was friendly and very attentive.
Great for a pre-theater meal, not much else, but that’s what it is and that’s ok
We had a lovely experience before we attended the ballet. Our server, Victor, was excellent and the food was amazing! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
The restaurant was packed for the holiday shows, but we were seated 15 minutes earlier than our reservations. Service was excellent in that there was no long wait despite how busy it was. This is a well managed restaurant!
I should have heeded the warnings about bad service. The wait staff and the manager lack the skills and professionalism that's needed to give a delightful experience. My experience wasn't bad, per se, but it wasn't what I expect from a restaurant that advertises what they advertise. We had 2 servers and both of them were incompetent and I've had better servers at Applebee's. Even though I don't eat at Applebee's but you get my point. If you want top notch service then this place is NOT the place to go. I would never recommend and I'm not going back.
