We now live within walking distance. First time here. Good was excellent! The service was spectacular! Not busy butt we are early and the theater is closed. Great dining experience!
Such a lovely restaurant and heartbreaking experience with it being so empty but it was private, food was excellent and service as well
We have gone to Birraporetti’s for 40+ yrs... it is always delicious & great service! I hope Houstonians will patronize this Houston favorite.. as it serves our Theater District well and the Arts District is not opening back up until December/January!
Please support this restaurant & go there for your dining enjoyment. Our Downtown restaurants are not going to survive if we don’t go to them!! What a loss to our downtown area. It makes me very sad that we as a city don’t go downtown for dining!
Love this place. Clean, live music on Fridays. Very calm and not hectic. Food is always on point!
Great service ever!
The food and service was outstanding the only thing I have a concern on is the parking as I had people that could not make the trek to the theater district we had to park and walk about six blocks so just be aware of parking.
We eat dinner here before a show. On the positive side I will say that they are very efficient in getting you out before showtime. However, there was not a lot about the meal that was very good. The food was mediocre, and served lukewarm. The service was not good.In short, it was just alright. There are a lot of options for restaurants within walking distance of the Hobby Center, I suggest trying a different one
We were there for dinner before a Hobby Center event. Good experience as always. Been in Houston 32 yrs.
We always go to Birraporetti's before going to the Alley Theatre. It never fails to give us a good meal in a lovely atmosphere; and still we're in time for the show.
we were eating before our Alley Theather play and the waiter was very accommodating. The pizza we ordered was very good , white others had a variety of meals which there were no complaints.
We have eaten in this restaurant for 30 years probably eight times a year. We often wonder why none of the staff ever seems to be the same except for the gentleman who directs traffic. As many times as we eat there we love the pizza it would be nice to be welcomed or recognized staff is generally pleasant but no one goes out of their way. It is very disappointing to us. It is convenient to Theater and we do really enjoy the pizza so we keep going back
Love this place! Great food!
Horrible service. Waiter admitted that my drink came in a dirty glass. Residue from old drink. Food and drink orders came out wrong. Lady that bussed the table did so with us at the table balancing the dirty dish container on her hip and asked us to hand her the dirty dishes. Whole experience was disappointing. Food is better at Olive Garden. Only went here because very few things open downtown on a Sunday so it was an easy choice. But never again.
It was good and had a nice feel to the place
Service very slow. Waited a long time before a waiter showed up. Then, it took a very long time for drinks and barely got the garlic bread before the food came out.
Too slow overall
Had some service issues. Biggest one was the server refilling a glass that had rum and coke with tea. Never seen that one before.
Every time we come to the theater district we love coming to eat at birraporettis and it’s always amazing!
If - you are not too concerned with the quality of the food. Location and dining early were in our favor. Waiter was cordial but a bit pushy on drinks and appetizer suggestions. Menu prices were ok, but quality of food was B to B-
Dinner before the ballet-exceptional location, great ambiance-comfortable seating, big windows and great service. We love the caprese salad, and the Artichoke Spinach dip was amazing. 3-Course special menu was great.
It is our go-to spot for pre-ballet food! Thank you!
Birraporetti's is our go to place for dinner on our way to the ballet, opera, or theater.
My granddaughter is lactose intolerant and the waiter checked to see if the tiramisu was dairy free. It was and she was so happy!!!
Mother in law’s birthday lunch
We love Birraporetti’s! Great location in theater district.. went Sunday & tried the 3.00 Bellinis !
Delish.. we loved our dinners.. chicken piccata & chicken Parmesan. Excellent! Generous portions too!
Birraporetti’s is consistantly good & reasonably priced menu items. Loved the jazz musician!
We have been patrons for 20 yrs!
Quick, easy, perfect service, food very good. Can't ask for anything better for a theatre goer.
Well, we made a reservation for 6:30PM. We arrived at 6:20PM and were told to wait in the bar area. Around 6:45PM we had still not been seated and when we checked with the host, we were told that they had forgotten about us. Good thing we checked, but bad service for all the trouble that we took to plan ahead. After seated, we were not apologized for or provided any compensation. Both my finance and I have worked for many 4 and 5 star restaurants in Houston and Dallas and that would have been the minimum.
Believe we will take a look at the other venues around the Alley theater next time. Or at least until Birraporetti's can get heir act together. Showed bad management and bad care.
Birraporetti's is something of a tradition prior to attending a performance.
The food was great, good service. I will be returning
We made this reservation weeks ago for our special ballet performance. When we arrived we were escorted downstairs to an open room and seated at a “community “ table. The upstairs of the restaurant was full of rodeo parade people. They clearly took priority over the theater crowd. They also did not have any pizza. This was a special birthday gift for my daughter and we couldn’t even talk during lunch. How disappointing! They could have told me that before reserving and I would have choose somewhere else.
This is our go to restaurant when we visit Houston Theater District. Get there early and relax with an appetizer and drink before the crowd gets there. Gets very busy on show nights but have never had any problems making it to our show on time. Excellent service.
Pizza is nice and a great value. The Josh red blend wine is very nice. Our waiter was fast and efficient.
I have dined here many times. Tonight things were just off. Will give it another chance due to past experiences.
We had dinner prior to a play and Birraporetti's could not have been more accommodating. We arrived late due to traffic, but were in and out with plenty of time to spare. I love the convenience of their location, but the waitstaff truly make a trip downtown worth it. The food was delicious, the ambiance on-target, and I will definitely be back.
This is the best Italian food I have ever had. I wanted to take a gallon of their spaghetti sauce home. Service was excellent and the value for what we ordered was also excellent. We will be back often even though we live in Katy.
Always enjoy dining here. Great friendly service.
The grumpy old man in the rumpled shirt and jacket - think he is the owner - is very rude and ugly to the waitstaff.
We witnessed him bang into a server coming out the kitchen - he distractedly stepped into the obvious flow of traffic from the kitchen - then proceeded to berate the young man for spilling the contents of the tray.
We spoke to both the waiter and the manager and told them what we witnessed. Did not want the manager to blame the waiter for the mishap.
Made the evening somewhat unpleasant.
This owner needs to stay out of the way.
The food was good and done per order. The service was very good.
Enjoyed dinner before the play at the Alley
One meal was totally unacceptable, and cold not be eaten.
Great food late night. Loved the live guitarist. Food was delicious and service was fast.
