   I had a large group (15) and made the reservation probably a month in advance. I was happily surpirsed upon arrival that they put us in a private back room. The table was set upon arrival and they told us we had all night. The room opened onto a private patio which was perfect for a group picture before dinner. Service itself was fantatic. It took about 2 hours total, but most ordered drinks, appetizers, entrees and desert. The food came out promptly and mostly at the same time so there was no awkward waiting. The food itself was quite delicious. I can only attest to my meal (crab salad, cauliflower steak) but it was excellent. The one down side is that they would only do a single check or 4 checks split equally. I chose one check so have to have everyone pay me back now, which is just a pain. But they let us order from the menu and did a great job, so I guess that was worth it. Overall, definitely recommend.

   Overall a nice Easter brunch although we were expecting a full dinner menu. The club sandwich was ok…not outstanding. Service was good but wasn’t quite the special occasion vibe we hoped it would be.

   The server was polite and helpful. The food was yummy. Unfortunately, many of the items on the menu were no longer available. There were no dessert options.

   Had been wanting to come here since was opened, and had heard mixed reviews from friends. We did have excellent service! Table was about 30 feet from bar, and large crowd was present waiting for a ballroom to open, and the noise level was intense. The food was just fair. They have gone over the top trying to be unique and eclectic, but I found this approach took too much away from the classic taste. Over the top pricing, left us disappointed.

   Clearly a UVA event at a UVA owned facility. takes priority over regular dinner guests. We arrived for our 6:00pm dinner reservation to be greeted by the deafening sound of 200 people at a cocktail party in the adjoining lobby. We were assured they would leave in 30 minutes. It was over 60 minutes. Same thing had happened to us at the UVA owned Boarshead Inn in the Mill Room which now has a bar at one side. Fifty people milling around a bar also make a lot of noise.. That was why we chose Birch and Bloom instead. Never again at either.

   Service was great but the overall noise level was way too loud. There was a reception in the lobby and all the noise carried into the dining area. Given the price of the meal, I would have expected more intimate dining experience. They were out of some food items which was very disappointing as it was one of main reasons for coming. Both my chicken and my wife’s steak was overcooked. Overall very disappointing experience but will say the service and staff were great.

   Love love Birch!!! Their steak frites is the best in Charlottesville! Such a hidden treasure! Ambiance, food, service - all top tier! Once a month must!

    One of the better experiences we’ve had dining there in a while. Our server Dante was super friendly, knowledgeable, perfectly attentive, and overall contributed to the stellar experience. Food was perfectly portioned and delicious.
