   We always have a great time at Binnekill whether it’s for lunch or dinner. We love the atmosphere and the food is delicious. The staff are so kind and we have some great conversation. I love that they change the menu up but still have those staple dishes we love.

    Ordered lamb shank which was good but came out Luke warm as did the butternut squash soup…have eaten here numerous times and first time I have been disappointed…..thus will give another chance

    Nicole was awesome as usual. The food however, was not what it used to be. The risotto ($36!!!!) was one of the worst I’ve had in a restaurant. Undercooked and clearly rushed- Milly on the outside, hard on the inside. Dish came out lukewarm at best. Just order the basics like burgers if you do go there and make sure you tell them you want your food HOT. It was not the first or second or third time we received lukewarm food (soup, fries, etc.).

    Disappointed overall. Has great potential but missed a few points. Poor service (waited more than 15 min before being asked if I wanted a drink), wine must have been from an old vintage bc it didn’t taste the way it shld have, had to ask for bread with my meal and it isn’t an inexpensive place. However, whatever I ordered was good. Small portions but good. Went there, seen it, won’t go back.

    Always good food at a price you’d expect to pay; not cheap but we’ll worth the price. The specials are always really well prepared - there’s a terrific chef. No dogs were inside during this visit - thankfully. (When did this become ok?). That’s been a real turn-off in the past. Our wait staff person was very friendly without being creepily familiar as we’d experienced there before. Reservations are a good thing - even if it’s almost empty as you enter, the dining room fills up quickly.

    $12.00 for 1/3 of a glass of wine was ridiculous. Smoked trout was good as were the crab cakes. Best item on the menu is the hamburger. Must eat outside as noise level inside is deafening.

    Great menu. We had the shrimp and grits and the special of scallops over puréed parsnips. Topped off with carrot cake - which were delicious and Irish coffees that were made perfectly. Simple, rustic but nice decor. Fireplace. Nice bar area.

    Your prices seem to high. Excluding liquor, wine…. $60/ head is too much. Liquor . It is the first time in 60 years of dinning that there was a up charge for making a cocktail. Where did that come from? To make an$18 Martinni $ 22 is nuts. Sorry folks but I guess if I come One back to you I will be sitting in the bar area and ordering off the bar menu. Too rich for my blood

    I liked the food preparation. Noise level was unpleasant inside the dining room. If the weather were warmer I would prefer eating outside on the terrace overlooking the water.

    The shrimp cocktail was incredible. I never saw shrimp this big. Delicious. Main meal was the schnitzel. Large portions and delicious. My only criticism of the schnitzel is the pork was much too thick. More like pork chops. The meat should have been pounded thinner to be like I know schnitzel should be. I mentioned this to the server and told her to pass in on to the kitchen. She said she would. We even laughed of the fact that if he pounded the meat thinner, he could get twice the portions from a pound of meat.

    We made reservations and when we got there the menu items we had looked forward to ordering they announced several entrees they were out of. The food was decent and seafood very good but the portions were small. It was overpriced for the portions and average.

    The only complaint my husband made was he missed having a potato with his meal….a real meat and potato man. I had no complaints, my salmon was delicious.

    Everything here is great! Staff is welcoming, food is great and I love the craft cocktails. The space is perfect for semi-large gatherings and I recommend making a reservation on weekends.

    The food here was surprisingly good. Since it was not a fancy looking place, my expectations were low, but I was pleasantly surprised. We were on an upstate weekend visit and had a delicious lunch, so we returned for dinner. Nicky was a great server and all of the staff were very nice and accommodating. Overall I would highly recommend this place for a very casual meal with high quality food.
