The property is beautiful and the staff is lovely. It’s possible I got the wrong thing by ordering the crispy red snapper. It needed a different sauce or some type of rice or something to make it into a well balanced dish. The fried rice was good and the crispy bao buns but for $100 the fish wasn’t worth it. Thank you to the staff though!!!

Bincho tan used to be defined as one of the most unique and fun dining experiences in the island but unfortunately those days are over. With a complete overhaul of the menu things have really changed and not for the better. Gone are the unique yaki tori style dishes and the white coals (where the restaurant gets its name) and welcome the generic upscale fare. While the food itself is not bad in the slightest it isn’t unique nor justifiable in its price. Furthermore, while the food has been completely redone the cocktails are the same which are lackluster at best. They did retain their phenomenal staff which is always a plus but between the needless change of the food for the worst and the not so stellar drinks I cannot in good conscience recommend the former hidden gem.

We ordered the $100 ribeye steak and it was tough. My husband ordered coffee and he had to flag down a waiter to bring cream and suger. That dhould have come with the coffee.

Nice people. Gimmicky (food is cooked in kitchen and brought out on a display hibachi , at the last minute they squirt oil on the charcoal to make it Smokey). All the protein was overcooked and dried out. Service "A" Food "C". The tables could use a good cleaning too.

The food was just ok. The rice in our pork belly bowls did not seem fresh. As others have said, the service was slow but we went late as our reservation was for 9pm.

We are never disappointed in this restaurant, always great food and selection with exceptional service! The honey nut shrimp is the best we have found on the island, and the pork belly rice is really, really delicious! One of the best meal values on Hawaii!
