Michelin-Rated and considered “...considered one of Staten Island’s top places to eat,” by the New York Times, Bin 5 originally opened in July of 2011 as a cozy, convenient spot for North Shore restaurant-goers. Formerly the historic Aesop’s Table, Bin 5 has always had a reputation to uphold, as we continue to pursue simply, delicious food and drink. Voted Staten Islands’ Best Restaurant of 2015 and Best Fancy Cocktails of 2016 and 2017 by the Staten Island Advance Readers’ Choice Awards, there is no establishment working harder to consistently deliver local, fresh, seasonal produce, prime meats, craft spirits, and hand-selected wines. Over time, Bin 5 has recruited a series of talented, passionate team members with the same vision - to create a thoughtful dining experience. We are a close-knit family and we welcome you to our home. Thank you for being here.
With so many mediocre places on Staten Island, Bin 5 stands out for many reasons. The drink menu is small, but eclectic. They're well thought out and there's a true mixologist behind the bar. The owner is hands on, and is always aiming to please. The food is solid, and you can see a lot of care goes into the preparation. It is a bit noisy when it's busy, but other than that, I'll keep coming back.
On Friday night my boyfriend and I had went there for our anniversary, we arrived a few minutes before our reservation and we were seated and greeted immediately on arrival, the staff was very friendly, we ordered two cocktails - the Danny Blaine and the Gold Rush which were both out of this world. We then ordered the octopus as an appetizer which I have never had so soft it was quite possibly the best octopus I’ve ever had in my life. The staff was quick and attentive on checking on us. My boyfriend and I also ordered the gnocchi and the branzino and I am still raving about this meal 2 days later! Definitely recommend!! 5 stars !!
Always amazing! Service and food is extraordinary. My favorite place
Everything was delicious from drinks to apps to entrees, would definitely recommend and will be going back. The only thing that was a little disappointing is the actual menu doesn’t match the online menu so what I was planning on ordering they did not have but what they did have was pretty close and I enjoyed and would order again!!
Amazing dinner, I could come back every week and never get tired of the choices! Always top notch friendly and professional service , food is off the charts and the staff could not be nicer. One of my all time favorite places with incredible food and amazing cocktails!
My family and I frequent Bin 5 often. We are never disappointed by the service, atmosphere and especially the food/drinks.
On Our latest visit we had a party of 14 and could not be more thankful for the attentive service we received and how amazing the staff is.
Amazing restaurant. The best drinks I had in a long time! Great rice balls, seafood and salads. Highly recommend.
We were so excited to finally try Bin 5...and we now we know why! With the warm welcome and immediate seating (it was just before the rush) we were off to a great start. Every aspect of our experience was beyond expectation. Facebook posts and photos only go so far but every dish (and glass) was picture perfect. The first sip, the first bite was so delicious it was difficult to save room for the next course! Notably the cocktails weren’t just “drinks”...bold and potent but flavorful without that prevailing aftertaste of alcohol. Everything gets 2 thumbs up but my husband and I offer all 4 to the scrumptious short rib and polenta, seafood fradiavlo, Samoa pie...cheers to the “Brown Derby” and thank goodness “Baby” drove me home! Our server, Fiona, has a great sense of humor and lead us to temptation, I think those were here words!
Congrats to our host, Danny, and his fabulous team! We’ll be back for an encore soon...
I thought it was too expensive I ordered two appetizers lamchops cooked to my liking were excellent but my octopus was awful One side was beyond burnt My husband ordered shrimp scampi it was very lemony couldn’t taste the garlic. This was our second try here Probably won’t be back or recommend it!
Cocktails were out of this world! Excellent meal, lovely people, attentive service!
Being somewhat picky, I was a little skeptical after reviewing the menu online, but upon my first bite I knew I had nothing to worry about.
As soon as you open the door you are greeted warmly by one of the owners or waitstaff. You can immediately sense the owners passion for what they do as well as their desire for you to enjoy everything they have to offer. While at first the dining room may appear small; but the dark wood, crystal chandeliers, brick facade, fun decor and fresh flowers, which adorn each table, reminded me of a warm intimate gathering as opposed to busy restaurant.
Beyond the dining room, we were led to the whimsical garden. The nature lighting & beautiful garden set the stage for an amazing dinner with lifelong friends.
You will not find the typical Mozzarella and Carozza on the menus, but instead well thought out, fresh, seasonal masterpieces. Many of which I would never have thought to try, but took the leap and loved every single bite. The extensive cocktail and wine list is one most Manhattan restaurants would envy. Danny Ippolito ensures each drink is made with the freshest of ingredients, compliments your meal and will also have you try his newest, delicious addition.
Everyone on staff is extremely friendly and accommodating many times knowing what you want before you do.
I highly suggest choosing Bin 5 for your dinning experience if you are visiting the Tri-state area. Your senses will be heightened maybe even altered.
Amazing drinks and food! Very friendly staff, always a good time.
This place continues to be the favorite, special occasion restaurant for my wife and I. Their carefully selected ingredients for both their cocktails and the items on the menu are why we keep coming back.
Amazing as it always is.
Bin 5 is a must! It was our first time there and we were made to feel very welcome. The cocktails, wine, dinner and dessert were all amazing! We will be back!
Amazing food and atmosphere. Drinks were delicious. It was the best meal I’ve had at restaurant in years.
Highly recommend! Everything was delicious. The sea scallops appetizer was exceptional. We enjoyed the beet salad and duck. For me the draw has always been the cocktails-they are wonderful like a journey exploring new flavors and taste combinations, particularly the fruit. My drink had pickled strawberries, so fresh. We can’t wait to go back!
I’m a frequent customer and it never disappoints!
When I made reservation for Valentine’s Day dinner I missed the info that it would be prefix dinner only menu. It’s unexpected surprise that we couldn’t choose anything other than the pretty expensive $70 p/person menu that did not include wine.
The food we choose from that prefix menu was pretty good: seafood salad and lobster bisque for start was really good, lobster ravioli wasn’t cooked well enough; mine main course was monkfish, it’s very good, but my husband’s fillet minion wasn’t chewing well. The desert, 3 very small pieces of different cakes were delicious. I was a little disappointed at first but overall dinner was good.
I loved it
A birthday dinner for my daughter
Just perfect, so deliuand very accommodating
Friendliest staff you’ll ever meet... not easy managing a big crowd in a smaller-size restaurant. Food is always absolutely incredible. Highly recommend!
We had a great dinner celebrating my father's birthday. Good food and drinks! Excellent service. Our server Fiona was amazing!
this is a hidden secret on Staten Island!! what a fabulous restaurant and amazing staff! Danny the co-owner and bartender makes the most unique and fabulous cocktails I have ever seen! Chef Steven Lee is a culinary artist in that kitchen and Gino..well he is an excellent host and member of the team! I highly recommend this place to all!!!!
This restaurant has everything you need for a perfect beautiful night out with your spouse! Cozy, friendly staff, awesome drinks and fantastic food! I recommend this highly!
My husband and I have been to Bin 5 a number of times and were always pleased. Our recent visit was disappointing due to our main courses. I had a lamb ragu over cavatelli. the sauce was not special--no sense of it being a lamb ragu, plus the dish was only warm and over sauced. My husband had duck breast which was gamy, tough and without any special flavors.
The servers were excellent and very nice as was the manager/owner. Our only complaint was the food was a bit bland. We normally don’t add extra salt to our meals and we felt it needed it. We do feel we rather have a meal that we need to add it, than a meal too salty.
Not only the best restaurant in Staten Island, but maybe one of the best in the city. The staff is great and food is fantastic. And some of the best deserts I’ve ever had. I’ve gone twice now and I plan to go back many more times. 10/10 recommend for anyone that wants a fun night out with great food.
Bin 5 is truly a staten island gem. Their menu is incredibly well thought out and delicious, it takes forever just to pick what you want because everything sounds so good. While it is expensive for a dinner on the island, it is truly worth it. Everything is to die for, from the unique cocktails, delicious entrees and homemade desserts.
Half way meeting point for my sister and I. First time.. would recommend! Really enjoyed!
Bin 5 is an innovative and magical place that tests your palate with every bite. Their cocktails and wine list are so perfectly paired, with unique flavors every single week. The food specials are always striving for excellence and freshness. The meatballs are a classic, delicious in every way, and the tomahawk steak is perfection. Dont even get me started on the dessert! Everything is baked fresh and homemade along with delectable ice creams and espresso to match. I highly recommend for a date night, a girls night out, or a party filled with all your loved ones! And go back more than once, the menu is always growing!
Food was very bland
Excellent food and service owner Danny was very informative and made his rounds would definitely go back
Love this place. Danny Ippolito and crew do fantastic job. Try it once-you will definitely go back.
Very cute place and in a great area. The service was pretty slow for a Wednesday Night. The food was ok, but loaded with large garlic pieces. it was had to tell the garlic from the mushrooms.
What better place to have a New Year's Eve dinner than Bin 5? The place was packed and some diners were a tad slow vacating their tables, considering reservations were back-to-back-to-back; however, once we were seated everything was great, as usual. Our party ordered the lobster bisque, pan-seared salmon, short rib, seafood salad, beet salad, and another seafood over pasta dish. Thank you Stephen, Danny, Gino and staff for another wonderful dining experience in 2018 - looking forward to many more in 2019 and beyond!
Food is AMAZING. Never disappointed. Get the chocolate torte.
From start to finish a perfect meal! Service excellent!
Absolutely the best restaurant in Staten Island.
