Best food and best service, courtesy of Oliver, our server. We had tried to go elsewhere for dinner but the front desk at our hotel wouldn’t help us make a reservation. In a stroke of luck, I did a search for “similar” on Open Table and found Konhya. The food, service, and vibe are amazing. I hope that everyone tries this place and enjoys a wonderful evening out!

We wanted a traditional Hungarian meal and found just the thing at this lovely restaurant. Sat outside in the warm air with the lovely ambulance of the shopping area around us. Highly recommend recommended.

Our best dining experience in Budapest! Our group of 4 had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. Our server (Andrea) was a real pro. Just the right amount of conversation (banter) and service. No hovering, but never out of earshot. The food was well-prepared, beautifully presented and of ample size. Add a nice Pinot Noir and you have the perfect evening! Considering the location, this venue offers a very good "bang for ther buck"! I'd gladly return and highly recommend.

Very much enjoyed our dining experience after completing a Danube cruise and spent a few extra days in this marvelous city. Our server Szandi was attentive and helped with our wine and menu selections. Wanting Hungarian cuisine we both had the Stuffed Cabbage. It was delicious and filling and we particularly liked the shredded cabbage and paprika sauce accompanying the stuffed cabbage. We shared their Steak Tartare appetizer which was very good with the chips they served. We accompanied the meal with a bottle of Heimann Barbar a nice Hungarian red blend. Dessert was a shared and yummy Somloi Galuska which was three different tastings of cake with a pudding. Very good. Our dinner was topped off with an aperitif called Unicum Narancs, unique and perfect. While located in an obvious tourist destination we found this restaurant a step above many of the other options in Budapest.

Konya is the quintessential Magyar restaurant in the bustling tourist/downtown area on a pedestrian street (big plus!). It has all the Hungarian classics, moderately priced. We were there just after seven on Sunday evening in mid May. It was not full, so it was relatively quiet. The service was great, the bread (the BREAD!) classic Hungarian sourdough. I would definitely go there again. : )

Great food and great service. Szandy helped us navigate the menu and we loved our picks. My only knock was the drinks, pours for wine and liqueur were so small as to be comical. In Konyha's defense, this was true of EVERY place we went to in Budapest

Good for Budapest where food is overpriced in mid range restaurants. The waiter was charming and smiling (a fairly rare occurence). The Hungarian sponge dessert is good. When asked they lowered the background music with good grace which we appreciated. Overall, we liked it and that was our second time there as a decent place is hard to find, as already mentioned.

The location is great, the service is polite and rather quick. The food is ok, but nothing special, although tasty. The prices are very high for that food. Won't be going there again, sorry.
