Food and service were great! Nothing was under/ over seasoned, flavors were awesome and our server was great ( not too intrusive) Would definitely recommend and come back.
Yummy!! This restaurant has stood the test of time. Go now!
The salmon was the best we have had at any restaurant. This recipe was a little different than the one six months ago and I believe an improvement. Think about chopping up the romance lettuce in the salad. Your wine list is still tops. We have recommended Biga for a long time.
Great atmosphere, knowledgeable wait staff, great food and whiskey selection out of this world.
Excellent meal
Very good food. Service is attentive if not impersonal. Price is approximately $$$ out of $$$$. Ambiance is swanky and trendy. Nice couples night out place.
First time to Biga, great time to experience the restaurant during Cullinaria, Three course menu was just ok, nothing to bring me back to taste the full menu.
Biga on the Banks has spectacular food, a nice atmosphere, a wonderful wine list, and impeccable service.
Has been a few years to visit Biga, but it was well worth the return. Did not disappoint. Food remains spot on, but what makes Biga so special is a wait staff that is unrivaled, an Owner Chef on site, a multi year history to depend on, great history which is dependable when you have so many more choices in San Antonio for Fine dining. Cannot say enough about how special they made us feel for my Wife's birthday. Chef Bruce came out to say hello, our server Chris could not have been more attentive, and the unnecessary but most welcomed mid course free palate cleansers, the over and above dessert plate, (sticky toffee pudding of course) and the desire to get back as soon as we can was a testament to this jewel on the Riverwalk. Run don't walk to your next fine dining experience at Biga on the Banks.
Anniversary. Waiter spoke fast, very short but was nice to other guests it seemed
Very well prepared, interesting plates, complimentary sauces and sides for main plates.
The service was courteous, friendly and professional.
This eatery continues to maintain its high standards. Cheers
Out of this world!
We always have great dining experiences with the crew at Biga and this time was even more so. Took my mom with small group of immediate family for her birthday. Asked for a good space for us and presents and had a great location and even better server. Took great care of us with every course timed perfectly. The food was fabulous as always and our drinks and desserts even better. Thank you all for making a special night even more special. So appreciate it and will be back for more great food, great service and great ambiance.
This was our third time at Biga on the Banks and, just like the first and second, it was exquisite from start to finish! Our food, server (Jose), and the ambiance was exceptional!! We look forward to returning and recommending to our friends!!

Beautiful setting with extraordinary customer service. Our server went out of his way to make recommendations and make sure we were pleased with our selections.
The staff handled all covid protocols for restaurants. We felt very safe. This is our favorite restaurant in San Antonio. Great food and the best service. A true gem on the riverwalk.
Was amazing, lamb was to die for.
One of the best meals I've ever had, the food and service was incredible. Love that we gave this seven-time James Beard finalist a try, sooo worth it! Will be back!
Great experience on the river!
The food, service, and ambiance were wonderful. One of the best meals we’ve had in awhile.
Jose provided my group and I with the best dine in experience. He truly made us feel as if we were the only table in the restaurant. The food was incredible and the bartender does a great job with the cocktails. I highly highly recommend this restaurant.
An odd place with great wine, mostly good food, spectacular service and tacky ambiance that looks like it hasn't been updated since the mid 90s. I'll go through each point in detail below. Overall somewhat disappointing for the money and hype.
The wine: the wine selection is incredible and the staff very knowledgeable of its contents. Many wines only available as full bottles but not a problem if you have some friends. Many wines are more reasonably priced too.
The food: all meats were cooked to perfection. The fish was incredibly flavorful and was wonderfully paired with its sauce and vegetables. The beef was wonderful on all accounts except was far fattier than one would expect it to be at the price (as at this establishment). Side dishes were more hit and miss. The pommes frites and soup were very tasty, but the curry rice and collard greens were just ok. They felt out of place next to all the other very fancy and well cooked dishes. Dessert was good too, but very sweet. Perhaps too sweet for one person, yet there's a 4$ split charge for dessert, so you might as well get a whole one yourself that you wont finish.
The service: great on all accounts. Waiter was quick, knowledgeable about the food and drink menus and all around very thoughtful and friendly. Dropped forks were hastily replaced and completed dishes were quickly taken away. No complaints all around.
Ambiance: the inside looked like a generic hotel with mid 90s generic decorations. Very bland restaurant to be in. I'm not sure if the intent was to make one focus on the food rather than the surroundings or if the ambiance was to say "we only care about the food here" but in any case I think that one should have a decent ambiance when spending $75-$100 per person.
An odd place. Experience it for yourself if you're a big fan of European-style cooked meats in a totally forgettable environment or just go for desserts and drinks after its dark when you cant see any of it anyway.
Great food and service..wait staff was very friendly and helpful
Excellent food. I would go so far as to say some was the perfect bite.
WOW, just WOW-what a fantastic restaurant!
We were a party of 6 from out of town and I am so glad I found this restaurant online. Our waiter, Thomas was fantastic and made our dinner experience outstanding.
I ordered the $35 Prix Fixe menu and it was fantastic. I wanted to keep eating, but was so full. I took my leftovers and ate them for breakfast the next morning and they were still outstanding.
Thomas never missed a beat, you can tell he loves his job and is an outstanding waiter. Everyone in our party raved about how fantastic their food was. We closed the restaurant down, but never felt rushed like the staff was pushing us out the door.
Thank you Biga for such a fantastic dinner and experience, the next time we are in San Antonio, we will definitely be back!
Do yourself a favor and make a reservation for Biga when you are in the Riverwalk area of San Antonio; you will not be disappointed.
This restaurant is always EXCELLENT! Great service and menu. It is a must try when on the Riverwalk!
Absolutely amazing from top to bottom. Wow.
We had such an amazing evening there this weekend. The food was amazing from start to finish, and I just adored our waiter, Gabriel.
My husband had the venison and quail and it was to die for!
Not an everyday type of meal for us, but a special treat. Worth every penny.
This is a great restaurant with excellent staff. We enjoy the ambiance, the food and the view of the river. We take our friends here when they are in town. I recommended it to any one who visits.
Always a wonderful experience at Biga’s but Christmas Eve was just spectacular. Family of 5 enjoyed the evening with top-notch service and even better food. We all had a different entree — all beautiful and delicious
All excellent!
Exceptional food and service.. loved that we had a small out of the way table. Made for a very intimate night. Thank you Biga. You never disappoint
Every year this is our special anniversary dinner. Food, service and ambiance are 5 star.
Over rated and overpriced. Food was moderately good, but not what I would expect for restaurant supposedly in the top five of San Antonio. Boudro's is way better--but more cramped.
We love to have dinner at Biga on the banks every time we are in San Antonio. The food is second to none!! And their three course meal is superb!! The chef is talented, and our waiter was fabulous!
We celebrated our anniversary here and everything was great!
The evening was fantastic from the food to the service!! We will be back!!
Biga on the Banks never disappoints!
Our service, food and wine were all excellent. Our waiter let us try the two wines we were deciding between to help us make a decision. We had a table by the window and they wrote happy birthday on the desert we ordered. Very impressed with everything and excellent price point. Highly recommend.
I went here for a birthday and it definitely surprised my family in the best way. When we entered we were led to a private room that I didn’t expect; it made our dinner just a bit more intimate. The food was very delicious and had so much flavour that are family loved it but it was quite greasy.
This is clearly the best restaurant in San Antonio. Everything was outstanding. The Chef should given an award for their attention to detail and a perfectly prepared lamb chop. I highly recommend Biga On The Banks to anyone who wants a superb dining experience.
