Lovely ambiance. Great food. Quaint river views.
The only person that treated us like a valued customer was Cesar. His personality and customer service was the best. The rest of the staff that sat us in the least desirable table in the restaurant were nothing but rude and condescending. We asked for one of the many empty more desirable tables but were told they were reserved. Against my desire to leave my wife said she wanted to stay due to our chances of finding a nice place now was unlikely. We ordered, our food was fine but that’s all I can say but maybe overpriced as well. While leaving I was even more disappointed to se empty view tabes we were denied.
I orginally reserved a table for 7pm but after a short walk on the river walk my wife and i were hungry, so we figured we would stop by and see if we could seated earlier, not only were we greated early but with a smile and table waiting. They set us in a corner at a small round table. The waiter was outsiding, by far the best customer service we have experenced in a very long time. His recomenations and knowledge of the food was on point. After getting our food they asked if we would like the curtain closed for a private dining experiance, which was awesome because we were there on our honeymoon. My wife turned and asked me if planned this and as much as wanted to i couldnt take the credit and said this is all Gods work sweetie. We will deffently be visiting again next time we are at the riverwalk. Thank you everyone for making our honeymoon special.
The ambiance was too close and much too loud. I could barely hear the people at my table and my server had to scream while I cupped my ears several times. Every other customer seemed to be at a night club, with no music being played- or maybe there was I just couldn’t hear. Absolutely awful and I will never return.
Food was delicious with all farm-fresh ingredients. Service was also excellent. This was an anniversary dinner and it did NOT disappoint. Definitely our best River Walk food experience yet.
The food and service was great!
Took my fiancee there to propose si I asked for a secluded table. They obliged and made it a perfect night! The food was fine dining at it's finest. Loved everything - service, food and ambiance! Great place to go if you want to impress!
Our waiter was quite rude with comments like “you obviously can’t read well”.
Great food and service. We wanted a night away and got exactly what we were looking for.
The food was absolutely impeccable. Service was outstanding. Don’t hesitate to go - you won’t regret it!
Go to spot for excellent service and food.
Great food, nice setting and excellent service. Good wine list.
Second visit while visiting San Antonio and never dissatisfied. All great. Well done guys!
Excellent service. Our waiter treated us like a mix of royalty and an old friend. The food was superb. I would suggest ordering the full order if there is an option as the half order was a bit on the small side. However, the taste was 5 star.
Fantastic experience at Biga on the Banks! They had an outstanding special menu for NYE and the service was spectacular!
Biga is our favorite restaurant in San Antonio. Consistently good food and excellent service in a great venue on the San Antonio River.
We had New Year’s Eve dinner, beautiful restaurant with beautiful river views, it was a fixed menu we ordered 4 courses as instructed by the server 10mins later he came telling us we need to order just 3 courses, I had rack of lamb, my friend had the duck, duck was to rare for her taste, server seemed put off when she brought it to his attention and told us that’s how the duck is cooked, a bit surprising that a fine dining restaurant doesn’t ask u how you want your meat cooked, when her duck came back about 15mins there were 3 pieces instead of the 5 she had earlier, no big deal we just went with it and lamb was very tasty despite being completely cold. Highlight was the kind host I believe her name was Haley, she was friendly and accommodating from the start and kept checking on us, she did sense we weren’t very pleased with our waiter and champagne was delivered to our table which was extremely nice.
Restaurant came highly recommended and we were a bit disappointed but maybe I should give it another try when I’m back in town and it’s not a busy holiday.
Great service and love the chef’s ability to be flexible and creative with food allergies! Did not feel like any sacrifices were made with the flavors or authenticity of dishes. Great staff and very attentive. Absolutely loved the duck!
We had dinner at Big on December 30th 2019. Overall we were disappointed with the food despite the great ambiance and service they provided. We ordered child's pasta with chicken and marinara sauce for our daughter. The chicken came in cubes and they were very dry with previously frozen not fresh taste. For an appetizer we ordered Octopus - this was not up to expectations. Two small pieces of octopus in a ceviche sauce. Main courses were overall fine. Overall nice restaurant but not as good as Ostra or other high end restaurants in SA River Walk.....
The meal and the service was simply amazing! Especially loved the salmon nachos!
The atmosphere was amazing. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. Food was spectacular.
Always the best - period!!
Excellent in every way!
Our table outside on the balcony overlooking the Riverwalk. Ambiance was first rate, food was excellent, and the service was professional.
The food and service are always excellent. Our favorite place to dine for special occasions!
The food was very good (the lamb was excellent and so was the red snapper) but the deserts were very mediocre. We were surprised given that it was a holiday season. Molten cake should have warm chocolate ....
Love the food! But no valley! It’s a problem.
Too expensive for what we ordered, food was good, but I thought it was overpriced
Everything at Biga is very good. The food and service don't quite rise to outstanding. Exception is the toffee pudding which is outstanding and has been for the many years I've been going to Biga. Biga is reliable and I'll keep taking clients and family when I get the chance.
Over priced for quality of the food. Our food took almost an hour to be served.
It was a special birthday and Biga did everything to make it special! Excellent table, wonderful ambience, splendid food and dessert. Our waiter Chris was super!!!
Will definitely be back next visit!
Biga on the Banks never fails to disappoint. We were greeted and wished a “Happy Anniversary” by the hostess, manager, and our server. Our server, Gabriel, was one of the best we’ve ever had. He was kind, friendly, funny, and attentive. The food and drinks were AMAZING as always. Our evening came to a close with a beautiful dessert that was personalized with an anniversary greeting along with two complimentary glasses of champagne.
Biga’s on the Banks is a great restaurant. I have been going here for years and the quality of food, drinks, presentation and service are always fantastic. The soup was beautifully prepared and delicious. The beef tips were flavorful and tender. It was my birthday celebration and they prepared my dessert with a birthday message. A new highlight was to meet and talk with Chef Bruce Auden when he came to our table! Our server, Ray, was friendly and professional. We always enjoy ourselves at Biga’s on the Banks.
I had heard a lot about Biga on the Banks but had never eaten there. We gave it a try for our anniversary. It was perfect! The ambience, service and food were wonderful. Our waiter was Jose who was personable and attentive. We had the fried oysters, cheese board, duck, and scallops. All was delicious and memorable. Thanks Biga for a great 36th anniversary dinner.
Thanks to Ben, our waiter, for a great experience. We originally requested table 1 but the restaurant contacted me in advance and offered table 10 since table 1 would not be available until 30 minutes later than our reservation time. We were also offered to slip our time so we could have table 1, but table 10 tuned out to be fantastic. FYI, both tables are enclosed on 3 sides for seclusion with a curtain to draw for more privacy; table 1 is on a window looking out toward the Riverwalk one floor below, table 10 does not. They both are excellent for a special romantic dinner, which we indeed enjoyed thanks to Ben and the rest of the team Biga. The cuisine was imaginative, flavorful, and ample yet not overfilling; leaving room to enjoy the dessert sampler with smaller versions of the sticky toffee pudding, creme brulee, and Kahlua mousse.
Fantastic ambiance and service. Food was outstanding.
