Our waiter was very attentive, polite, and respectful. Wonderful experience for my mother's first time dining here. The food was exquisite.😊
Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful, and the service was spot on. The Christmas lights on the river added to the festive ambiance. We always enjoy eating here.
went for thanksgiving dinner, there set menu was fantastic and the atmosphere was great!
The entire experience was delightful…food, ambiance and service! It’s our 3rd experience and they have been top notch every time! We request the same server every time who is outstanding…Gabriel! Thank you Gabriel!!! Can’t wait until next time! Highly recommend!
Came here for Thanksgiving. Thought we’d give it a try as we are new to San Antonio.
Food was OK. Seemed very assembly line. Tasted fine but nothing special.
Service was extremely inattentive. Cocktail was brought well af5er the first course. No bread was offered. We requested it, and were promised an assortment. None ever came and we couldn’t even ask our waiter about it during the course of the 4 course meal as he was never anywhere to be seen.
He never checked back in before dessert to see if we wanted any coffee or drinks with dessert. We managed to flag him down right before dessert was brought (mostly busboys bringing the food to the table) to request espressos and to tell him we didn’t need the bread any more. There was a mishap 10 min after the request where the espressos were spilled before they were brought to the table. He tried to put this container of creamer and sugar with espresso all over the side on the table. My husband pointed out it was still dirty, he wiped off the side and plunked it on the puddle of espresso still on the table. Finally brought out the espressos.
Not everyone had such miserable service. The drink menus were left on our table the whole time until we got sick of it and stashed it somewhere else. The table of 4 behind us was very well attended to - they had bread, their waitress checked in with them before dessert to see if they wanted any beverages. Another table of 4 close by also had bread.
The waiter was only interested in engaging with us when it was time to pay, just to tell us he was working two jobs.
A poor experience and we won’t be back. For special occasion dining, restaurants such as Bliss and Signature provide far better experiences.
Everything was wonderful
Fantastic! Wonderful and great service. Nice decor and ambiance.
Nice dinner out, trying to feel almost normal again. One us tried a couple traveling menu items. They were good. The other went with the tried & true lamb. Sat outside, which we’ve never done here before. Weather was perfect, so it was lovely.
The waitress was very responsive and detailed about our ordering. She was patient with our children and made it fun for them, yet she was able to mAke the adults feel like they were well taken care of too. Great job Allison!
Many restaurants have declined significantly since the pandemic began, but Biga on the Banks has not. It is still a delight and a "must" place to dine when visiting San Antonio.
Great!! Service. Really good food. But parking was absurd. Walk or take an Uber
Delicious food, friendly and attentive service and a casual yet sophisticated atmosphere. Couldn’t ask for more. Our favorite restaurant in San Antonio.
Excellent restaurant for a business dinner with clients
Well, that was a disappointment. The Campachana was good but not great as it featured very small chunks of shrimp and crab and was presented in a little bowl swimming in a very dark sauce. We were accustomed to large pieces of seafood in clear glass- it was visually unappetizing to start with this. The grilled beets were described as being served with goat cheese but in fact was served (and no, I am not exaggerating) with 1/4 teaspoon of goat cheese smeared on the plate. The waiter did bring out at our request a more appropriate serving of the cheese but couldn't resist pushing back with the disapproving comment, "well this is how we serve it". Any attempt to get guidance from the waiter was met with the retort that "everything is great", which is no help whatsoever. When someone inquires at a restaurant they have not been to about which salad he would recommend, that customer is asking for help and it was stonily withheld every time. The split pea soup was awful but they did take it off the bill. It wasn't split pea, it was a puree. It did not have ham as was promised. It lacked both flavor or an appetizing texture. The vegetarian entree, bok choy, fried squash was okay but not noteworthy except for the delicious rice. The shrimp and scallop served in broth was good and it was generous for the half portioned ordered. The almond butter cake with an undercooked poached pear is best forgotten- another selection we asked for guidance on that was withheld from us by the waiter. The corn bread had to be ordered a la carte for an extra $6.00 and was totally generic and forgettable. The wine we selected off the daily printed wine by the glass menu was unavailable at opening time.
The food was delicious! I had the antelope and quail, which was amazing. I had never had antelope before, but will definitely have it again. Everyone else in our party loved their dishes also.
Food and Service was amazing!! Thanks to Tucker for making the evening wonderful!!
Went to Biga on the Banks for a special occasion and it was good , but not spectacular.
Visiting the Riverwalk and found Biga on the Banks on Yelp and it had good reviews. We had a table outside and it was a lovely evening watching the boats on the river go by and enjoyed all the beautiful lighting. Our server was excellent and we enjoyed our evening.
Drinks were great, food was sub par, steak desperately needed salt, veg was practically raw. Desert was disappointing
The food and service was great. We got to sit outside and the weather was very nice.
The food and service were exceptional. It was also a bonus to see the Christmas lights while enjoying their lovely patio dining!
Really disappointing for a highly rated restaurant. Service was very poor. The server was rushing around but not really delivering. Items were missing on the table - napkins, silverware. He didn’t notice. Too much of a hurry and not listening to us.
And then The fish we ordered was cold in the middle. We were offered replacements - but they were much smaller!
Would not go back.
We were seated by the window overlooking the Riverwalk waterway as requested. Service was awesome by Royal and food was amazing! A wonderful dining experience.
The service was fantastic and the food was so great.
Food was amazing.
The ambiance and service were exceptional. My husband had the lamb and I had the salmon and we both loved the flavors. Will definitely be back.
Host staff so kind when I thought my party would be late for our reservation even though he ended up on time. They were sweet and accommodating. Beautiful ambience , creative and tasty food and great server.
Exceptional quality food with fantastic service from Alison. We truly enjoyed our meal.
The service was prompt but the food was average and both the appetizers and main course came out luke warm like it had been sitting for a while.
Amazing food, presentation and execution was perfected. Great service as well!
The game packets are a must. We started with those. I had my favorite: Antelope and quail. Excellent presentation, preparation, and flavor. We had the all time best waiter: Gabriel. I have been dining at Biga since it opened and have always had great service but Gabriel is over the top the best. I will definitely ask for him on my next visit.
Excellent savory entrees. My wife had lamb (excellent). I had special japanese travel taste item that had a delightful mix of flavors.
Outstanding - 5 stars across the board
Wonderful location, great service and the food was truly excellent. Our waiter Gabriel could not have been more attentive or energetic in keeping us happy.
Tandoori Halibut, Lamb chops and sticky toffee pudding were standouts, but in truth, everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. Bread basket and cheese plate had amazing alternatives, cocktails and wine were amazing too and everyone in our party was thrilled with the evening we spent!
Good food but not what I remembered. Maybe seasonal? A bit under seasoned. Great staff though. Miss the duck…
This place was amazing along with the food & service. Celebrated 30th wedding annv and hubby bday. I'm from DC so I had to do a lot of research before choosing a place. I'm so glad this my was choice for dinner.
We chose Biga to celebrate my mothers 60th birthday due to its reputation and the elegant atmosphere, professional staff, and quality food made the experience a night to remember.
Great atmosphere, would recommend the habanero jerk scallops and big chicken fried oysters. Loved the fact they offer two portion sizes for most of the entrees.
Great service and food!
