Dine on fresh sustainably-sourced seafood, wild game meats and more at Big Fish & Open Range, located in Calgary. Its casual setting and inviting atmosphere is ideal for grabbing a bite to eat with friends or family.

Big Fish offers food such as a seafood chowder, smoked oyster sliders or chili-glazed frog legs that make for flavorful appetizers. Guests can feast on an entrée of pan-roasted walleye with wilted spinach, fish tacos topped with tomato-mango salsa or a lamb and lobster burger. An oyster bar as well as delicious house-made desserts are also available.

Open Range embodies the essence of our city; cutting edge, but comfortable and unpretentious. Open Range mixes modern with tradition, serving every cut you would expect but preparing them with interesting variations of flavours. I love the space, decor and vibe of this place. It felt very comfortable. The service was not good by the waitress in any respect. She was not fit for work and should have been sent home for her own well being as well as the service standard (order wasn’t put in after taken, she had to come back to verify order 2x’s, we were given 3 separate orders that did not belong to us, coffee spilled when cups being filled, there were only 4 tables occupied etc) The manager or owner did apologize for the rough service so that was good The food once received was absolutely delicious. Fish and chips was crispy with a thin batter and the fries were amazing. I had the salmon hash with poached eggs and it was delicious with the fish cooked perfectly. The homemade peach jam and homemade ketchup were a great touch.

This was our first time at Big Fish & Open Range-Renfrew, and we were very impressed with the experience, the food was delicious, and the service was great. I cannot wait to go back and try more of the menu.

Food was really good, service was a bit too slow but friendly. Fruit flies were annoying only one toilet in a very small closet. Could be a lotcleaner restaurant.

Food always excellent here. I almost always get the mussels with green curry. My wife tries different things all the time. Always good. And we love the oyster night on Monday. We usually go Mondays 😉 Only thing I had to complain about were the fruit flys / gnats all over the restaurant. Gotta fix that. I had some at home earlier this summer. But got rid of them with some home remedies

Started with a warm anniversary welcome and great seating. The service is the best in the city (Glen) right from the initial drinks to ordering your meal. Great attention to detail, friendly professional service, perfect plate presentation, and great portions. The meal was amazing! Everything was excellent. Great value for the price. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend for all occasions!!
