Bida Manda Restaurant and Bar
Our parents' recipes are the inspiration for our menu. Every dish on our menu is exactly what we grew up eating. They are the kind of dishes you might find on the street corners of Luang Prabang and at a Laotian home.
Come in and go away with us on sensational culinary journey to Laos.
Whether it is a birthday dinner for 10 guests or a corporate event for 100+, we will work with you to craft your memorable dining experience. Please contact Vansana Nolintha at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Dinner: Monday to Thursday 5:00pm - 10:00pm, Friday and Saturday: 5:00pm - Midnight
Fabulous! Always delicious and excellent service. Highly recommend.
Our experience at Bida Monda was incredible - despite OpenTables discrete policy
The food was excellent and the ambience was great as well. I highly recommend.
Service was excellent and food was delicious
Awesome food and great service.
Amazing ! So refreshing for us, very authentic food.
Better than any Thai / Vietnamese food from Asia or Australia!
The best food we have had in at least 3 months, traveling all over USA, this is awesome.
Take a detour If you like Thai/Lao food.
You can’t miss this place! The soups! Get the soup. It’s like someone is hugging you inside out 🤣
Seriously, Bida Manda never disappoints. The service is superior and the staff really know the menu and wines. If you have special dining needs such as vegetarian, vegan, or GF the wait staff are superb at being able to provide options and ensure that you have a great meal. I was so impressed with Justin and his knowledge of wine. I was able to give him a range of reds that I like and out he comes with a fabulous wine that our entire table truly enjoyed! We were also celebrating a friends birthday and the trio dessert was ridiculous. I want to go back to just have this dessert and some coffee. It was out of this world. Definitely a great place to celebrate a special event or to really impress folks who are visiting you from out of town. One of Raleigh's best by far!
Bida Manda is always popular and delicious, but our most recent experience left something to be desired. Our waitress did not come to our table for ~10 minutes after we were seated and after taking our order, came back to ask again what one of our guests ordered (drink and meal) because she forgot. When the meals came out, she got another guest at our table's order wrong, which resulted in his order being delayed another 3-5 minutes. I understand and am sympathetic to the high-stress, fast-paced nature of the service industry, but Bida Manda's brand is based on high quality, high-value experience (and you pay for it with their prices). It was disappointing that our waitress did not meet this expectation.
We had a great time! The wait staff was friendly, energetic, and very accommodating of my specific allergy. I will certainly be back soon.
Wonderful Staff. We were pleasantly greeted, the service was perfectly timed and friendly. This is topped only by the food. The pork belly soup is to die for. The crispy rice lettuce rolls are equally as good.
Overall a wonderful restaurant with great food. Had the lemongrass sausage and one of the best I’ve ever had. Enjoyed the curry chicken very much as my wife had the breakfast baguette and thought it was one of the best things she has ever eaten. Great place, too bad I could only do lunch.
Wonderful in every way!
Our experience was great!
Five of us for lunch. No one had been here before. EVERYONE loved the food. Our server was great.
Birthday desert was fantastic
The food was pretty average. The appetizer was great but the main dish was strictly average!
My boyfriend and I had one of the best dining experiences we have ever had anywhere. The food was amazing, of course, but our waitress, Karley, and her wonderful personality, made the night even more memorable. She was friendly and fun, she had answers to all our questions, made fantastic suggestions about our food and about our drink pairings. We couldn't have asked for more.
Amazing anniversary experience! Thank you for the complimentary dessert!
The pork belly is a specialty and is rich with multiple flavors. I would actually use something other than pork belly to provide the protein. The papaya-like noodles were interesting. Again, I would opt for a different protein than the trout that we selected, though the fish was ample.
The drinks were disappointingly small.
It was enjoyable to try a different cultural food.
Fun vibrant place for foodies! There's something on the menu for everyone to enjoy!!
Great restaurant, I love it here. I always order the Pad Thai!
This was a mid-point meeting spot for me and my friend. I live in Durham. She lives in Angier. A friend raved about this restaurant and all the reviews were great, so I wanted to give it a try. Likely, I ordered the wrong menu item, Pad Thai, which was underwhelming. Sauce was too wet and sweet, overpowering the noodles and tofu protein. Not much tofu, either. Not enough ground peanut crunch. My friend had the summer rolls with shrimp which she claimed were delicious. It did look good and I sat across the table from her wishing I had ordered differently. My sparkling rose/prosecco came in a short, squat martini glass rather than a flute. Awkward to drink. Will I go back? Yes. Because I like the story of the owners and because I'd want to give try again just to be gracious and generous.
Great place, very good food and service. Hard to get in unless you have prior reservatins.
We made reservations a month ago and were glad we did. Great area of city and a very relaxing atmosphere for a date or with a group. Menu is not extensive but I still had a difficult time selecting because all sounded delicious. We chose pork belly soup and curry dish.Looking forward to returning.
Business or friends? We’re both! Delicious and excellent service. Truly remarkable waitstaff.
Always a wonderful experience and explosion of flavor. The sausage appetizer is divine. I look forward to my next visit.
Food was excellent, very fresh and well prepared, flavorful, spicy. Presentation was very good. Service was excellent and very friendly. Noise level was high.
Everything was wonderful. Truly enjoyed dining here!
My hubby and I dined here on a Friday afternoon. We had planned on lunch together, but weren't sure where to go. After discussing some options, I said, "What I'd REALLY like is Bida Manda", thinking on a Friday afternoon there wouldn't be any tables available. Well, after checking on Open Table, I saw they had am opening and reserved it! WOOOO! It must have been meant to be! We walked in and got our table very quickly and ordered our lunch. Crispy Rice Lettuce Wrap, Cashew Ginger Chicken & Crispy Pork Belly Soup. The lettuce wraps are so good! Crispy, spicy (not too much!), cool and hot at the same time - Incredible texture and taste! CGC is always a good bet - delicious flavor! CPB Soup - one of the most delicious foods I have EVER eaten! Soft noodles, crispy pork belly and red cabbage, nuts, bean sprouts and the most divine coconut curry broth. Flavor and texture explosion! We got some delicious macarons for dessert - Yum!! Previously we've had the sweet purple sticky rice (with coconut custard & fresh mango) and the dessert trio ( apricot-tamarind cobbler, semi-sweet chocolate creme brulee, and coconut custard crisp) - ALL excellent! Green Papaya salad is another hit - don't let "salad" throw you off - With either the steak or trout, it's amazing!! The service here is always great. It's hard to find a better meal around here! Just go and eat here!!
The Pork Belly Soup always delivers. It's too delicious.
The lettuce wraps appetizer were delicious! We enjoyed the pumpkin curry and ginger chicken & cashew nuts. Attentive & friendly wait staff. The rose prosecco was really good. An enjoyable lunch.
I was blown away by Bida Manda. From the appetizers to entrees to wine list, it was clear that an incredible amount of thought and detail had been put into every facet of their menu. The anaheim pepper appetizer and the pork belly soup were two of the best dishes I have every had. I will be recommending this place to all of my friends.
The restaurant food was just average. The service was excellent and it is a very popular restaurant. A lot of people think the food is excellent, but I found the dishes to be bland and quite expensive compared to other Thai-like restaurants.
I have been to Bida Manda many times and it is still a favorite. This recent visit was for a colleague's birthday lunch. The service (Savannah) was attentive without being overbearing. We split everything family-style and they brought extra plates and utensils. Food was served quickly and was delicious. I look forward to a return visit soon.
Fabulous staff and food that made my friend’s birthday lunch amazing!
Great food and service. A loud large party sitting behind us took a bit away from the experience, but still a great time.
Consistently yummy food. For the first time dining at Bida Manda, I did not have to chase my server down for my check. Great experience this round! It tends to be cold in the restaurant, so if you tend to get chilly, bring a jacket/sweater.
The food was very good but if the chef can make it a little less salty, it would be great. My daughter also said her food was salty. I had beef lard and my daughter had the curry.
