Bhang is a unique warehouse cocktail bar serving contemporary Indian fare off Sydney Rd in Brunswick exploring the many different flavours of India through food and drink. We have a cocktail for every occasion and taste, and dishes from all corners of India such as the Mangalorean inspired 'Kori Gassi', 'Kashmiri Trout' and Rajasthani 'Junglee Maas'. Come and try our Thali only available mid week (tues-thurs $25)

    Great buzzy vibe (but noisy), lovely staff. Some food was really tasty, some was bland and under seasoned. The lamb shank Rogan Josh was a disappointment, expected a rich tasty curry and it was watery and lacked any depth of flavour. Chicken tikka two ways was delicious! Cocktail took ages to come but was great when it arrived. Would like to return and have more of the smaller street food dishes.

    Used to be great, food and quality. Fifth visit, cost does not align with the portion size nor the time it took to get food to table. Staff did they best, ran off their feet. Cocktails were good. However, this will be my last ever.

    Amazing food, great friendly wait staff and awesome atmosphere. The only teeny tiny negative would be that we all ordered cocktails and didn’t get them until almost halfway through our meal or, for one of my friends, pretty much at the end of her meal. Other than that everything was perfect. Thank you!

    Food and ambience was nice but super overpriced for what it is. You can get the same quality/ outstanding Indian food at heaps of Brunswick restaurants for half the price. Feel like you just pay extra for the decor.

    You know when you put something in your mouth and have to stop, take stock and just bask in the experience because it’s all just a little too overwhelming and you know it deserves all your attention. Everything I’ve ever tried at Bhang in the last few years is like that. Simply the best Indian food you’ll find in Melbourne. Add to that, the wonderful Justin, the ever-bubbly Sangeeta, cocktail maestro, Ricky “The Maestro” and Co., and it’s a stellar night out. Also, the momos and chicken two ways will have you redefining perfection.

    We checked out Thursday Biryani & Bhaji Night as well as ordered some extra goodies. It was almost packed so best to make a booking! All the food was great and tasted fresh, the highlights were definitely the Eggplant Curry (Coconut based) and the Biryani was good, but FYI only 2 options (Veg and Goat)- would have been better if they had more regular meat options + you only get one Bhaji and they are the bomb so hopefully they give more in the future!! (Or add it to the menu fulltime)

    I really love this place. I asked for the music to be lowered as I have a hearing loss and find it hard to hear my friends talking when music is too loud. They obliged. Wait staff are superb. Delicious food. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend this place.

    We enjoy Bhang and it's food for a few years. Friendly service and good ambiance. A bit disappointing with GF options that have been decreasing over the years and GF folks need to beware if they're sensitive to cross-contamination; while advising that I'm coeliac and sensitive to cross-contamination, I queried a fried 'GF' item. When confirming that it was contaminated, they kept repeating 'but it is gluten free', which is a dangerous insistence to make and objectively untrue. Food is not gluten free if you add gluten to it, especially when you know you have done so.

    It’s a scam at best and I will be making official complaints to relevant authorities in addition to leaving a review so that others are not in the same situation as us and ruining their Friday night by being mislead into believing that their are supposedly going to an Indian restaurant and paying exorbitant prices. This business is unethical on so many levels - there is nothing Indian about the food. They serve momos and what they call nans which is stuff straight out of a packet (worse than home brand from Woolies!) heated in the microwave.

    Had a great meal here in this little secret spot. Went early and mid week and the place still had a good vibe. Good service and really tasty food, only complaint was a bit dark to seethe menu but that’s my bad eyes!
