Betts - Cleveland
"Betts" is a tribute to Elizabeth Schofield, wife of Captain Levi Schofield and our namesake. The space is cozy yet airy and feels like a mix between a restaurant and a very cool home that you’d happily want to reside in all day. Betts is inspired by American dishes we all know and love but reinvented with a thoughtful approach. The menu focuses on freshness, quality and whole foods put out from a predominantly scratch kitchen. It's easy to eat healthy here and it's just as easy to indulge- the menu has something for everyone.

Brunch with family. Noisy overpriced and nothing special. Good for drinks and hanging out at the bar but not worth eating there
I knew most of the service industry is struggling right now, but the service was subpar. Took over an hour to get food, drink were inconsistent and had to ask multiple times for new ones. Kind of expected more.
The service was EXTREMELY slow. It took forever to just get drinks. Which made us decide to not get food and go somewhere else.
I love Betts! Great food and location. I always get the Tokyo bowl and it’s so delicious.
We were looking for a good lunch spot downtown. Sadly, this won't be it.
The food was truly delish, unless it wasn't. Of the 3 of us, one had the Grilled Cheese and Soup - perfection. One had the Market Plate with Chicken, fries and roasted broccoli. The Chicken & fries: excellent. The Broccoli: charred on the outside, hard in the middle. I had the Market Plate with Salmon, Mac&Chs & Bacon&Blue Brussels. The Salmon: SUPERB. The mac&chs: good. I'd have it again. The Brussels: no blue in sight, hard in the middle and covered in too much vinegar.
The atmosphere: the website does a good job of making it look larger and more comfy than it really is. Expect a multi-purpose diner. Not uncomfortable, but not someplace you want to really spend time, either. And surprisingly loud. Very echo-y.
The service: The Hostess was awesome. Cheerful, on it. The server was less so. Not rude, just not *there* either. Rarely saw her throughout the meal. But what really got to us was something that happened at another table. The two guests accidentally knocked over one of their beers. It spilled all over their table and the floor by them. Not one server came to help. Multiple servers - including ours - walked by, looked at it and kept going. No one offered to wipe down their now sticky table, or the floor. They had to go fetch linen napkins from another table to handle it themselves. Even more: their server and a runner form the kitchen brought out their meals, were told about the incident, served their food over the mess on the floor and never came back to clean it up. Having served and cooked in a number of restaurants over the years, I was offended for the couple at this display of just not giving a d*mn.
The food was good. If we ever stay in the hotel for any reason, I'd eat there. But living in CLE, this wont be the place we go for lunch downtown.
Outstanding food and service. Parking was a challenge, but everything else was amazing.
Good spot overall. Very good food. Solid drink and wine list
Hailey our waitress was great. The live music was wonderful. Food was outstanding!
We had looked at the menu in advance and were excited about a few of the choices. My daughter ordered the Ranchero Benny and my husband tried to order the pumpkin pancakes. My husband was told that even though pumpkin pancakes were on the menu, he was told that they had blueberry or plain. He ordered plain. The server then came back and told my daughter that they were out of the Rancheros Benny because they had run out of the sauce. She disappointedly ordered something else which turned out to be bland and tasteless. We asked to talk to the manager who was rude and did nothing to remedy the situation. When my husband’s pancakes came, they were blueberry which was not what he had ordered. His food came last and he didn’t want to wait another 15-20 minutes to get the plain pancakes so he ate them. We talked again with the manager who was again rude and when I said that a good manager would comp the pancakes, he told us that they don’t give away food for free. Our brunch went from a celebration to a disappointing and frustrating experience. We will never go back!
The food was absolutely terrible. We got the POLENTA-QUINOA FRIES as an appetizer and they were horrible, no seasoning and very bland. My fiancé got the 12oz strip steak, it was really over cooked and was mostly fat, the sides were not seasoned at all. I got the Duck & Cover and has to be the worst food I have ordered. The duck was shredded rubber- very very over cooked and the ravioli that is under it was so sweet it was disgusting. We never go out for dates and we decided to go out and it was a horrible experience we both didn’t eat our meals and paid for that garbage. Would definitely NOT recommend.
Group of 7 and a baby went for brunch. Food was very good but slow to be served. Server was very attentive. Would definitely go back again.
Smallest omelet ever! Must have been two eggs. Only $10, but I could see why..... It was good, just not very much of it.
Came early and they were able to get us in right away. I good was good- no complains but nothing to rave about. Good prices and excellent coffee that never went empty. The decor was trendy and cute but still casual.
Brunch is usually a nice relaxing meal but this was just like any breakfast at a diner. My waffle was nothing special and I has asked for warm syrup but that didn’t happen. No one offered a cocktail and a nice bread basket would have added to the feeling.
Wasn’t impressed - we had 2 tall guys and they sat us in a booth even though tables were available.
We come here periodically due to their GF options, which are very good..
We had a 6:00pm reservation, attending event at Playhouse Square at 7:30pm. We were seated promptly, had one drink, appetizers served at 7:00pm, dinner entree finally came at 7:15pm. Waitress apologized several times, Manager showed up at the end, said they were short staffed. Would have liked to know that upfront. Very disappointing experience
The servers were exceptionally friendly, but it took pretty long (over 45 minutes from ordering) for our food to come out. And we had one cocktail ordered (a simple rum and coke) and that also took over 20 minutes to get to us.
Food-wise, the vegan Cesar salad was absolutely worth returning for! I will be dreaming about it - Delicious!
Delicious and creative menu!
Nothing special. Food was competent.
Service was slow. Took about 10 minutes after seated to have a waitress approach us with water and to take our drink order. Multiple times I would have liked to order other drinks but we were disregarded. My meal was the duck and excellent and filling but my wife’s meal was a fillet with two sides but the fillet had not been seasoned. She had to ask for steak sauce which was odd for a restaurant like this. With so many options downtown I will prob take my business elsewhere in the future.
I was there for a business meeting and we were excited to try. The food and prices were great but it took nearly 45 minutes to get our food AFTER placing our order. That's my only complaint. I was fortunate to not have been in a hurry.
We are outside so it was ridiculously loud. Table was uneven and that was also ridiculous because my drink fell over. Food was ok but for the price, I
I was not aware that the Lunch menú was not served on Sundays. Just the brunch menú.
Service was great and menu had a lot of (what sounded like) tasty options!
We ate in one of the greenhouses, it was warm, cozy, and clean!
It was simply an amazing place to celebrate our 13 anniversary!
Wish there were more openings to come back. Love everything. The salmon was AMAZING!
It was so great! The Mac and cheese is a must try! The greenhouses are so cute!! And the drinks are really the hit of the night!
Food and service were excellent. Can't say I'm a fan of the new decor, but it was okay. Will go again.
Awesome food, very large portions. Will definitely be back!
First visit to this venue, post COVID. They have done a good job of respecting guidelines. Overall dining experience was fair. Server very pleasant and enthusiastic. Menu looked interesting with categories for vegan and keto. Two many issues were quality of food and space. This restaurant does not feel like dedicated dining space, rather feels like it is tacked on to a hotel bar eg, TV on and obvious. second, food served was lukewarm at best, main course served even before appetizer completed, cold bottle of rose plunked onto table unopened and not in wine cooler. this will need to get better before we return
Very satisfying brunch! Especially the super smooth nitro coffee cocktail.
I thought the restaurant had good vibes, nice ambience. This type of modern new American place is much needed in Cleveland… Since they are still a bit behind the times. It’s a great addition to the area, fresh and seasonal menu, and adequate customer service. I would go back and recommend especially for brunch.
Wonderful food and even better service! Top notch!
Hands down my new favorite spot in Cleveland. Exceptional service, delicious foods, and great cocktails.
They are still trying to work out the kinks of being a new restaurant. Our server appeared to not understand how to input an order into the system, which caused service to be every slow as well as the order in correct. I also chose this restaurant from good reports of COVID guidelines adherence. However during my time here and with a table facing the bar I saw many employees pulling their masks down touching there faces and pulling it back up all without sanitizing hands. I would try this place again, but likely give them a few months to figure things out.
Awesome service and great food! Felt safe while dining!
Stopped down to try out the new Betts and it did not disappoint. The new decor is cool but relaxed. The service was great and servers are very knowledgeable about the new menu. Cold brew on tap was perfect for Sunday brunch and the Breakfast Blunt was amazing! Definitely coming back soon!
Our server was friendly and very informative.
The dinner was delicious and full of flavor. We were not rushed thru the courses.
Love the atmosphere.
Will be back!!!
