People in the Lone Star State know their Tex-Mex, but San Antonio gets to experience a fun, eclectic, and healthy take on their favorite dishes. We call it alt-Mex (Alternative Mexican food), and it’s our blend of Mexican street food, Latin soul, and a whole lotta love. Beto’s has been serving up this unique tradition since 1997, and we’ve been doing so with quality ingredients, from-scratch, and healthier recipes. Our fish tacos were voted #1 in San Antonio, our tacos al pastor have been featured by Texas Monthly, and Guy Fieri even became a fan of our signature Chalupa-Cabra. It’s not just our food that turns heads, the atmosphere is the kind that people want to be a part of: bright as a bell pepper, as fun as a pinata, and inviting as a hug from your Tia. Food was excellent! We got the last bowl of pozole and it was amazing. Anthony/Antonio was our waiter and he was awesome. Super friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu.

There’s an increased rate for credit/debit transactions vs. cash. That said, when change was requested there were no singles given in the change. I don’t know if this was an attempt to earn a 25% tip but it seemed that way.

Hostess greeted us with a warm smile and made sure we were happy with our table. Server was also very attentive. The only problem we had was with the brunch menu. My wife and I attempted to order two different plates off the brunch menu. Even though these dishes were still on the menu, unfortunately they were no longer available. My wife’s plate was also too spicy for her. Restaurant could add warnings regarding this as in 1-4 jalapeños showing its spice level.Please update your menu. This will not stop us from going back, but it was a bit disappointing
