What Insiders Are Saying
For Italian in Los Angeles, it doesn't get any better than the Arts District's Bestia, This isn't dinner, it's an experience.
The food was really good and delicious. Service was great!! The cocktails are awesome! Definitely coming back!!
overall we enjoyed our time at Bestia, however, some things could have been improved. We had a reservation for 9:30 pm, keep in mind, we made it over 2 months ago. Upon checking in, the host informed us our table was not ready. Ok, understandable with such a busy and popular restaurant. We waited at the bar and had some drinks. After 15 min, I checked with the host again and our table was still not ready. At this point, we started to get a bit anxious. I was entertaining guests from out of the country and it wasn't the best impression. The manager was very nice and she communicated to us and apologized while we waited, which I think is highly important in these situations. Finally half an hour later we were seated at probably one of the less coveted tables at the restaurant, first one, outside, by the entrance to the restaurant. I have to be fair and acknowledge that I did not ask for a different table or to be moved, but at this point, we just wanted to start our dinner since everyone had an early and busy day the next morning. They did bring out a complimentary cured meat tray and bread. very nice touch.
Our server was ok, nothing special. Food was great as always. I highly recommend the bone marrow and the branzino was amazing. Grilled to perfection, tender and flavorful. My only comment on the food is that gluten-free pasta would have been appreciated. The server seemed annoyed when we asked him about such an option. I am sure he gets the same question over and over again, but hey, we are in LA, you guys are very popular, why not cater to your guests? I am positive Ori can come up with an amazing GF substitution and I have no doubt, guests will be willing to pay extra for such.
The company made up for the hiccups, our time was enjoyable, just need a bit more dialing in next time Bestia. Try their sister restaurant Bavel, which we enjoyed better.
Fun Hip restaurant and perfect for a date night as we’re visit here from SF
Awesome place, food was on point
It’s always a good time in Bestia. This restaurant became one of my favorite places for foods and drinks! So I had to share the experience with our friends and it was worth it!
Love the vibe!
The best Italian food I’ve ever had, no question.
Service was excellent and food was great too. Loved the ambience and the open kitchen.
Was very excited to try this place after hearing such rave reviews. At first impression the hostess was rude and not very welcoming. From there on our service was better but not what I would expect at a five star restaurant. The food was okay. Nothing that left a lasting impression. Best part about it was the music.
The outdoor setting is exquisite, inside so loud it’s horrible. Food is fine not exceptional. A little overpriced and way over hipied .
The service is excellent, very friendly and attentive! However, the food is definitely not the best I have ever had and definitely does not match the price tag. It was good but I would not come back again, there are better places. We ordered the broccoli, margarita pizza, branzino, chicken gizzards, liver patte and oxtail pasta. No dish to really rave about but that is because I have had better. Broccoli was crispy and fresh, margarita pizza was very salty and soggy, chicken gizzards were delicious (the beets added a very nice touch), liver patte was not very flavorful but it was decent, branzino was not spectacular (I make it better when I buy the whole fish from Whole Foods) and the oxtail pasta was excellent with lots of flavor. It is a fun spot to go with a group of friends and share a bunch of food but I would only go once for the experience.
Bestia is.... interesting. The atmosphere is "hipster", to say the least. Chairs are extremely uncomfortable - but that's pretty typical of restaurants like this. I could barely hear the person sitting across from me. The restaurant is over-rated, and over-priced. At these prices, I expect foie gras and truffles. Instead, you get Meyer lemons and chicken gizzards. The best part of dinner was the drink that I ordered. I expected to have at least one dish blow me away - but nothing did that here.
I imagined Patrick Bateman eating here and enjoying it.
The food is interesting, but not interesting enough for the price. The food tasted good, but not good enough for the price.
Water Tasted Great
Value for the price
Amazing in all aspects!
Awesome food, original dishes, great service and drinks overall
I have no words because this meal was incredible. Normally I'd give specifics but this meal was a mic drop. Every course from start to finish was epic. If you're eating elsewhere and haven't tried Bestia yet... You're wasting your time. The food was to die for, the wait staff was attentive and lovely, and even the music was a soundtrack I could get behind. Love this place 💙💙💙
All the food was delicious, but every interaction I had with the Bestia staff made me feel unwelcome, and like they just wanted me out of there as quickly as possible. The service wasn’t bad, but the attitudes of the staff were.
While the food was very good, there are many other restaurants in LA that have staff that treat me with respect and are professionally polite, and I would much rather give my time and money to those places.
Food was delicious. Everything we got tasted so good! Service was great!
Overhyped. Nothing wowed me. Food was ok. Service was ok. Found a great wine and desert that’s it.
Delicious, authentic Italian meal with bold and creative flavor pairings
Great food, nice ambiance, and good service. A little pricey for some of the items but overall must try.
Dinner date for two, first time at Bestia. The food was amazing, the tomahawk pork chops was very juicy and the bone marrow was really good.
So delicious. Everything. The most tasty sauce ever; freshest seafood. Scrumptious desserts. Don’t miss this place. Worth the wait for reservations. And very hip place to boot.
A gorgeous atmosphere with unreal cocktails and THE BEST FOOD. A special experience that is always worth the wait for a reservation. Come hungry.
It's still rock'n after all these years. Top notch service, good fun and a fun place to for a bite for two or an evening with friends...My only issue is I'd like to see some new items on the menu. I've probably been there about 15 times in the last few years and the menu has basically been the same.
Otherwise, still a thumbs up and I'll be back.
The best food I’ve ever had!
Lobster roll , bone marrow with gnocchini and broccoli with tonnato sauce are the best!!
Thank you for a wonderful experience!
The food was amazing. The server was very knowledgeable and helped us chose our meal. I’ll definitely be back.
Their food is always good but a little pricey. Very hard to make reservation.
It’s crowded, loud, and food is alright. Burnt Breadcrumbs for a plate? Lol you guys are too much. More of a status restaurant than an actual restaurant. But yet again how much can you do with tomato sauce right?
Awesome time! From the food to the wine recommendations, the entire experience was great.
Excellent wine list and sommelier was awesome
Amazing, innovate and most importantly, delicious.
I would recommend Bestia to a friend who loves loves excellent Italian food. Does not mind that you have to yell at your table mates because of the unreasonably loud music and others yelling to be heard. We had a reservation at 7:00 pm and given a nice table but felt unnecessarily rushed by the waiter. He did not need to come by every 10 minutes to see how we are doing..and the food came up much to quickly. Very cool interior and exterior.
Loved the entire meal. Lives up to its reputation. Must try.
The best plate was the gnocchi with bone marrow, was delicious!!!
The noise level is high so it is hard to hear people at your table, but I don't know how to get around that given the build of the restaurant space. The service and food were fantastic.
Each tapas we ordered was fantastic. Special Cocktail offerings were a bit tequila/mezcal heavy but nonetheless excellent.
Poor service, too many people coming and going
terrible coursing of the food.
Food was alright. The best thing was probably the bone marrow. The pizza was really nothing special. And the pasta was good, but not exceptional. Service was great.
