spicy 'nduja. scallions. fennel pollen. grilled bread.
Slow Roasted Lamb Neck
smoked anchovy creme fraiche. gem lettuce.herbs.
Good food. Just don’t take last reservations as items run out. Like all of them.
As always, every detail was captured and delivered effortlessly. The whole team works together as a wondrous machine which enhances the special dining experience.
I cannot believe this is defined one of the best Italian restaurant in LA...a real rip off
The food was expensive and they served us a small plate of pasta with total irrelevant generic flavor.. a mix between a decent ragu with some truffle flavor ... even my 13 years old daughter makes it better
For the saffron gnocchi.... we are still looking for the saffron they were decently made home made gnocchi with some sort of stew ... maybe a decent version of a ‘spezzatino’... with some gnocchi around
I went to so many other Italian restaurants in USA including gusto in NY even Terroni in LA ... wayyyy much better
The music was way too loud
Anyway never again ...
one good thing very interesting crowd of people
Bestia is undeniably delicious. I could of done without the 45 minute wait to get seated, reservations were for 930pm and we got seated at 10:15/10:20 but the food was amazing as always.
Amazing as always.
The experience with the stuff and the food was amazing. We loved our selection and everyone was super nice. Unfortunately, the tables were located almost in the street due to Covid, but will be back to enjoy the wonderful place and food.
The food is delicious, the portions are small that make it pricy because you have to order a few dishes in order to have a full meal
Such original dishes - all chock full of flavor. Outdoor seating works very well.
Absolutely the best restaurant in downtown Los Ángeles. Had a fantastic birthday dinner with my GF.
It was very noisy. But we were outside, and that’s not unusual.
The service was amazing. Food portion was very small for the price but had good flavor.
Good was amazing! Just a totally wonderful night out!
Best food in LA! Took my girlfriend here for the first time and she loved it as well.
I'm a transplant from NYC and I was told I'll never find NY quality food in LA. Whoever told me that was 100% wrong. Consistent quality every time I go there.
The food was incredible as always! We started with scallops - a melt in your mouth explosion of taste. Then we had the squid ink pasta - sooooo mouth watering good! For our third course we had the Lamb Neck - we were digging out what ever remaining morsels we could find! And lastly we ended with the Mango Cake - to die for!
My boyfriend and I went on a date to Bestia on our anniversary. They were accommodating on the time at the last moment. we appreciated it since this is a busy place. the service was outstanding, so was the food. The meals were creative and one of the kind. It's not for the people with a child's palate. If you wish to experience an extraordinary meal, then this is a great LA option. Bestia provides a great experience on all levels.
Based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews of Bestia it was an obvious choice for the first night of our "we're fully covid vaccinated" vacation in LA. The evening started out promising. We were seated at a table in the tented area outside, which was lively and energetic, even at 6:30 pm on a Wednesday. We ordered the homemade ricotta which was heavenly, along with a cocktail.
I ordered the Saffron Gnocchi and my sister chose the Chestnut and Mushroom Agnolotti. My dish was served in a timely manner but it was 15-plus minutes before the Agnolotti appeared. When asked why there was such a delay, the waitress, who was training another waiter (in tow), said that they have a process that requires they serve the food only when completely and properly prepared. Because I didn't want to eat while my sister had no food, my pasta got cold.
We asked to speak with a manager. He said basically the same thing- the process dictates that dishes not go out until they're precisely prepared, even if that means the dishes don't arrive together. He added that we evidently weren't aware of their process (it felt like we were being blamed for not "getting it"). He also offered as an excuse that they were extremely busy that night.
I have dined in chef-driven, high-end restaurants for decades and have NEVER been on the receiving end of such lame excuses for a poor dining experience. I politely but firmly said so. He offered to remove the charge for my sister's pasta from the bill even though both of our dishes go cold during the course of the discussion. I should also note that the pasta, while acceptable, wasn't noteworthy.
Mainly because we were just kicking off our trip, we accepted the offer and let it go. The good news is, we dined out several times subsequently and thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful, varied cuisine that epitomizes the LA dining experience.
We concluded that Bestia, which only recently reopened to on-site dining, wasn't yet up to the task.
Service was great. COVID 19 preparation was excellent. Food amazing as always
was really excited to try out Bestia as the reviews are generally fantastic - was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, everything we wanted to try was already unavailable / sold out, like the bone marrow, the crab pasta and a few others.
i'm sure the food would have been delicious - what we tried was pretty good but definitely not exceptional.
service was amazing and i loved the music.
the chocolate dessert was unbelievable!!
would suggest booking an early table to make sure you get the option to eat everything on the menu!
Awesome from start to finish. One of my top restaurant experiences. Strongly suggest bestia!
The food was absolutely amazing. The service was so great. This was our 4th time at Bestia and we have never left disappointed. Can’t wait to go back.
Celebrated my graduation dinner here. The food was AMAZING!!! The staff were very friendly and I loved the atmosphere:)
We love the food here!
Food was every bit as good pre-COVID. Still worth a special trip to LA as we exit the Pandemic. Service and layout followed all protocols, ensuring a safe environment. Pasta and branzino were ethereal. Exceptional cocktails.
The food was ok but definitely worth the $210 I paid. Ordered an appetizer (bone marrow) which was the best tasting, a pizza which was mediocre at best, pretty soggy & I ordered 3 pastas including the crab chitarra which wasn’t too bad. I will say that their drinks did impress. Ordered 2 alcoholic drinks and it all amounted to $210 which I don’t mind paying as long as the food is pretty damn good. I’ve had better while in the wall italian food. I’m not usually one to complain but I’m also not one to return if the food isn’t what it was made to be. In all honesty, seems like an average joint that is trendy and that is why people say it’s so amazing. It’s definitely a one and done for me.
Covid sucks, Bestia is wonderful, but eating in a parking lot is not great. Service—WONDERFUL! Food—AS ADVERTISED! Ambiance—temporarily not ideal, but not forever!
Servers were super pushy to get us out ASAP but food was delicious and perfectly prepared
Not your cheapest meal, but the quality is worth every buck
Food was delicious!
The place was buzzing, our server was excellent. Ha made the experience better. Some of the food are just ok. I always expect my crostini to be crispy and ours was soggy. I couldn’t taste the lobster on the dish. Same apply to their squid ink pasta. I love their mussels, enough to get me back there. The marrows were too little to be spread on the pasta for flavor. Their pizzas are better than other Italian resto that I’ve been to except for mozza. The ribeye was way overpriced but delicious. Their desserts were too limited for my liking but taste superb. Overall, it’s a good way to celebrate my birthday but was it truly worth the long wait for a reservation, it think it was way too hype for that long wait. Otherwise, I’ll see what they have to offer for summer and might head back there.
Had a good time, dishes were great but the food didn't stand out to me as much. Bavel is far superior.
EXTREMELY mediocre food, discriminatory server, horrible music and screaming children. disgusting ANTI-ASIAN service from jonathan who treated us like CORONAVIRUS. parking lot setup looked like a COVID testing site.
gnocchi was overcooked and gross. jonathan did not greet us, no smile (fine). he asked us if we had dined at bestia before and we smiled and said no. he then said “WELL I am not going to explain the menu to you” and walked away. ive received bad service at my places but this was the worst ever in my life. he obviously went out of his way to mock us and get a power trip. he rushed us to order and made faces and wiggled his hips and pressured us to order more (we ordered a full course with drinks. he refused to explain the menu.) he never once checked on us (fine), showed despise and disgust, made us feel disgusted in our own skin we lost our appetite immediately. he purposely avoided our table- we saw him serve all the tables around us better. also, we saw no other asian people except for another asian couple and they didn’t seem happy but they had a different waiter. i was so upset i was shaking during dinner. he also purposely cleared the plates carelessly and loudly in our faces. he then tossed the check at us while we still had a lot of food left. no goodbye or thank you or anything. not a single word, he refused to look at us. just tossed the check and turned away.
management condones this discrimination and abuse,we still paid incl OPTIONAL service charge and 15% tip bc we were scared.unacceptable
i have no idea what everyone is talking about. they have so many yelp reviews and the most filtered reviews i have ever seen, which means that they filter out bad reviews and pay for good reviews. appalling and classless
WORST-ia experience all around. people really need to know. got one canned email from theodore who is no longer responding. obviously they don’t care. will be telling everyone i can NOT to patronize discriminatory ANTI-ASIAN businesses
Great food. Very cool vibe. Music was a bit loud. Overall setting was amazing and very hip. Everything was just delicious and server was friendly. Great experience.
Uggghhhhhhh. The pasta. I am a fast eater and I had to force myself to slow down at Bestia and enjoy each bite because it is just. That. Good. I was told they were a “must try” while visiting the east side of LA and they did not disappoint.
We had a wonderful family dinner at Bestia for Easter!
phenomenal & helpful staff, delicious food, the best playlist! definitely coming back!
Beautiful ambience and food. Love this place and want to come back.
Everything is perfect
