My girlfriend and I celebrated our engagement at Mister A's (we were from out of town). An amazing place with an amazing view of the city and bay, plus the staff was very welcoming to us and even surprised us with a few complimentary items to help us celebrate. We absolutely had a great time. Highly recommended for special occasions, or just spending time with someone special. A true gem in San Diego.

When I checked my bank account mister A tab has been paid however due to the way your company bill it is still pending. Therefore it actually blocks funding in my account that should not be blocked. the food was ok, however I did feel rush and did not enjoy myself with my guess. It seem to me that your company have an in and out policy especially for my table. Me and my guess was talking and the waiter kept asking are we ready to order, at that point we were not, and a few minutes later he walked up with a pad and said what are you have ( forced to order we did) This is a few minuets after we told him we was still looking at the menu. My guess were uncomfortable and so was I. I would suggest if you have a 1 hour for guess to sit down and eat and get out you should advertise that. I did not see this action being take with any other table. We were a Africa American couple and I hate to assume the worst!! My number is 949-705-8996. If you care!!

Mr. A’s never disappoints and is always a wonderful meal and experience. Our wait staff, lead by Jerry, was the absolute most attentive. It was an absolutely beautiful day out and Mr. A’s has the best view of the city. Thank you!

Food has gotten worse. I had been to this place 6 years ago and it was much better before. We ordered mussels and lobster strudel for appetizers today. Mussels were extremely salty. In the strudel, I couldn’t even taste the lobster. My entree was Yellowtail which was was ok - again salty.

For desert, we got peach pie with ice cream, it wasn’t outstanding.

However, 6 years ago I had a steak here which was extremely delicious - whole experience was different.

I got dissapointed about the food this time.

I took my parents to Mr. A's to celebrate their 50th anniversary. The food was excellent as was the service. The weather was perfect, sunny and breezy with a wonderful view of downtown, but I should have asked about the outdoor seating. I had assumed there would be umbrellas shading the outdoor seating and two of the three of us were pretty sunburned by the end of the meal.

My only complaint is that I had specified on the Open Table booking both that my mother was using a wheelchair and that the meal was to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. I don't know if it was because we were one of the first bookings of the day or if the information didn't make it to the restaurant, but no one acknowledged the special day (a change from the last time I had reservations for a special occasion, where every member of the staff congratulated them unprompted) and they did not seem prepared for the wheelchair (although they were quick to work out how to navigate the chair outside).

We spent our 15th wedding anniversary at Mister A’s. It was also the 4th of July. Would be hard pressed to find a better location for the fireworks. Service was meticulous. No detail left unattended or unnoticed. Food, fantastic.

Beautiful view and ambience, had some dietary restrictions in our group, but because of the 4th of July prefix menu, they had a difficult time figuring out how to let one of our guests order “off menu”. As a result, service was affected and you could feel the tension from our server.

If you come here, sit on the patio and get reservations in advance.

The food was a little fancier than I like, you know the kind of place that serves duck and $50 Halibut. The view is good over San Diego's aging but still attractive skyline. Great spot to watch the planes land.

Wear a blazer, I under dressed in a party shirt and felt kinda out of place. Staff is good, not over friendly, maybe it was my shirt and DC sneakers.

And expect to pay $200+ for 2.

Our party of two dined outside on the patio and was seated promptly at 6:00 pm. The view of downtown, the harbor, and the steady stream of jets arriving at Lindbergh was as advertised. Don’t go if you suffer from acrophobia since you’re at the same height as the jets on approach, fortunately without much of the noise. Our entrees were salmon and Chateaubriand, both very good. What stood out in the end were the view and the service. Wine, two appetizers, entrees, and dessert exceeded two Franklins.

The main waiter was not very attentive to us. We sat awhile before he took our order and then didn't ask
us what we wanted to drink. We flagged down one of the bus boys and he related our order to the waiter.

We celebrated my wife’s 50th birthday on Tuesday- as always the experience from start to finish was exceptional! One of San Diego’s outstanding restaurants plus a view to die for over downtown and the bay!😍. One other nice element is that all the team members are great at taking pictures of your special occasion!

Excellent as always! Mr. A's is my favorite place to take out of town guests. We had a great table, great food, great server, and wonderful company! The atmosphere is very relaxing and the variety of items on the menu is exceptional. The Chateaubriand was amazing and was cooked to perfection - Blue Rare - which is hard to accomplish. The beef tartar was prepared in a very unique fashion and was awesome. Can't wait to return.

We haven’t had a meal here in quite awhile. We are local residents and it used to be one of our fav restaurants. We don’t know if the restaurant is under new ownership but we were extremely disappointed. The lobster roll special lunch was horrible. There was less than an ounce of tasteless lobster on over cooked toast. Two lobster rolls and a glass of wine was $73. Their was service was marginal and when a wooden plaque fell on my zygoma the reception staff implied that it was intentional as it had never happened before. I’m doctoring it as I write this review with a cold compress to lessen the swelling.
The view however, is a five star rating as you get a spectator view in any seat at the restaurant. But if you are going for great food, this is not the restaurant!

We enjoyed our time at Mr. A's. My wife loved the duck. I thought the Chateaubriand was underwhelming. It was good but not great and for $52 it should be better. The lobster strudel was very good. The view is amazing. They could offer some better deserts. On the whole a good time.

Spectacular view, very good service.
Too bad food was not to the standard expected. We had to return main meal because was cold, they exchange for a poorer piece of meat. Although they compensated with removing cocktails, I wouldn’t come back for a gourmet diner. Too bad. Place is perfect for a high end restaurant

We love Mister A's and come here for most of our important family celebrations but Father's Day Brunch was a shock.

The table was leaning dramatically and had an unsteady extender (to the point that glasses could fall of the edge). The waiter worked on it a bit but then said he couldn't do any better. Seriously?

We asked for egg whites for our omelette and waiter said we don't have egg whites. We chose not to be sarcastic and ask what was in their eggs.

We asked for fruit on the side instead of potatoes and the waiter told us they don't have fruit.

We ordered the regular omelette with no mushrooms. But it came with mushrooms piled on top. The waiter took it away but then another server came by twice to take away someone else's dish even though we kept protesting that the dish was fine and the wrong dish had already been removed.

Hope for better next time.
