This was our 3rd visit to Bernie's and each and every time the service has been outstanding. The two Hostess', Michele & Renee are so gracious they make you feel so special.
Again, a great meal! Delightful service, wonderful food, and great ambiance! We will miss you, but enjoy your well deserved vacation, and see you when you reopen !
THE place to dine in the greater Palm Springs area. Great Service!! We felt truly welcomed from the moment we walked in. The hostess was exceptionally friendly. We heard the activity in the LIVELY bar upon entry, with LIVEL music, but it is separated from the restaurant. The restaurant has the 50's-60's feel with a lot of booths so you can have your own cozy feel for reasonable conversations without fighting other noises. Wonderful menu including a special 3 course summer menu which I enjoyed. There was flexibility in the menu adapting sides and dressings. Hubby had the generous (ordered the smaller) portion of prime rib with all the trimmings. Cooked perfectly med rare and flavorful. HIGHLY recommend Bernie's. Plenty of parking in addition to VALET. Easy to get to. Home run for special occasions or just dinner out. Oh yes, while exploring, they have a "sports bar" next to the regular bar!
Prime rib sliders were cold as was the a ju. Coconut shrimp were very good as was the dipping sauce. We really appreciated the courtesy of the phone call to inform us only the lounge was open that night and the menu was limited (Sunday night).
First time here. Old school vibe. Very friendly staff from hostess to bartender to waiter and wait assistant. Great Titos Martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. Husband had Old Fashioned. Enjoyed crab cakes appetizer and split striped sea-bass special with side os asparagus. Pleased with all. We had dinner in dining room but certainly can dine at bar or at table in bar. Liked this place. Will go back.
A little pricey but we don't go there very often. Martinis were great!!
Our server was outstanding! The crab cakes were delicious. Booths are nice and high so private and you feel like you are alone which is cool. The bar seemed lively and the music sounded great. Next time will pop in for a martini (which are off the charts perfection) and try the bar menu.
Service, entertainment and drinks were very good. Food was good, but mostly over cooked. Worth another try because the other elements of dining out were positive. The lounge area was busy and had a good vibe about it for summer.
Bernie’s is GREAT! Impeccable service & food. I would recommend them
Excellent service from everyone. Quiet ambiance in the dining room in contrast to the lively bar. Great cocktails and good food.
This has become our favorite local hangout. Sometimes we just sit in the bar and have a light bite and listen to the music, and sometimes we have a full meal in the restaurant. We brought some out of town friends in for dinner and it couldn't have been better! Had my awesome Cosmo made by the amazing bartender, Jared, and we all enjoyed a great meal with great service by our server, Martin. The evening was delightful, and we will be back soon. Everyone there is so friendly and welcoming from the minute you walk in the door...See you soon!
Bernie's is ALWAYS a "go to" place for fabulous service and terrific food. None better in the Valley! GO THERE!
Very enjoyable experience. The staff treated me really well and the music was great. Thanks, Phil
The food and service were outstanding. The servers were accommodating, efficient and kind.
Great service ..
This was my third time dining at Bernie’s! I love Bernie’s. Our server, Christine, was amazing as always. The food was incredible and cooked to perfection! We love the ambiance too. All around wonderful dining experience.
Our waitress Christine was wonderful, but the kitchen was slow to prepare the food and the assistants who refill your water, clear the plates, bring the bread, etc., were very slow (almost invisible). I wonder if this was because they weren't busy on the Wednesday evening. Usually when we go things are very busy and the service is excellent. This evening the food was delicious, Christine did an excellent job, but we were disappointed in the other aspects. Still enjoyed eating there, though, and we will be back!
We had an awesome time at Bernie's and got to see Patrice perform in the bar. Jared was our bartender/waiter/do everything guy and he provided outstanding service. The bar food was spot on and can't wait to come back and try the main dining room. This must be a good place to work because everyone of the staff had smiles on their faces.
Very nice price fix was good deal last time i thought was too expensive
I really enjoyed the music and the food. I am a wheelchair user and the staff were very accommodating. I recommend Bernie's highly.
The service was very good, but the food was not. 2 of the 3 of us had to send the prime rib back because you could not cut it. It was very tough.
Great music got to dance, enjoyable evening with friends
Loved it! Will definitely go back again. The food and the ambiance was amazing
I'm not sure why it took so long for us to check this place out, but we are glad that we did. Our server was extremely personable and gave great recommendations. I started with a tequila based drink (forgot the name but it was red and delicious).. Calamari for the starter was light and delicious. It came with 3 sauces so your bound to love at least 2 of them.
Next Baby Back Ribs was perfect. Just the right amount of seasoning and the meat was cooked to perfection. My partner had prime rid and it also was very good. Checking out the bar area, it was packed and the place was jumping. (Great that the restaurant was much quieter so you can choose your scene.) Will return to try happy hour..
Food was very disappointing. All sounded great on the menu but the execution was poor. Waitress said the meatloaf was one of the customers favorites so I ordered it. Flavor was just ok, but very bland. Pasta with bolognese was a true disappointment. Fish special was overcooked and dry. Escargot was like rubber. Duck breast was acceptable. Only dish that got good reviews was the short ribs. This was our first time dining there and we will not return. Extremely expensive for such poor food.
Staff were great. Caesar salar was one small stalk of romaine. The dressing was bland. Their "famous" prime rib was fatty and not worth the price. The baked potato was warm at best. Not where to go for prime rib in Rancho Mirage.
Great service and very friendly. We had a great evening. Wish we could have stayed for the entertainment!
This restaurant has captured the essence of the 1960s restaurant but with modern improvements. The service was truly outstanding. I can’t say enough about the wait staff. The martinis are very very good. Salads are fresh. The calamari appetizer was crisp on the outside and well seasoned. Two in our party had the prime rib which was excellent and perfectly cooked as ordered. The only weaknesses were the hanger steak with beans which was too salty and the crab cake appetizer which was bland. The server handled this perfectly and without hesitation. The deserts were delicious. The portions were generous. We all agreed we look forward to returning soon.
Never been before but after dinner the other night, would definitely go again. Quiet piano lounge and intimate dining. Food was excellent, service was great. Surpassed my expectations. A definite recommend!
Sat in the back dining room away from the music so we could have a quiet conversation.
Christopher, our server, was outstanding.
We were there for restaurant week and very good value.
My medium rare steak was almost medium well. The return was still clser to medium, bot flavorful. other diners had the seabass and the ribs. All were satisfied.
The warm berry cobbler was by far the best desert.
Have a great happy hour, but very loud for us seniors, unless you can grab a spot in the back away from the bar.
Very courteous staff.
Very disappointing food wise. We went for the restaurant week special menu. Since this restaurant is among the higher priced restaurants in PAL Desert, it was a surprise that the restaurant week menu was $29.
One of the starters was baked goat cheese with Basil and olive tapenade. However it was really just warm goat cheese with two different toppings and baguettes.
The main course and dessert were the problems. We ordered Baby Back ribs. The barbecue sauce was very tasty and the portion was quite generous. But the ribs were very dry and extremely tough and chewy. The server said that the kitchen told her that perhaps the dryness was due to the later hour (8:30). But that doesn’t account for the really rough meat. And there is no excuse to serve dried out food at any hour.
The restaurant was nice about the problem and offered another choice. By that time we were no longer interested in starting over with a new entrée. Our server was very polite and efficient and apologized throughout.
Dessert was a mixed bag. Flourless chocolate cake was excellent. But the white chocolate mousse had no chocolate flavor.
Would I return and give it another try? Probably not at the regular menu prices. I expect better quality for the higher prices usually charged.
Bernie's restaurant was a beautifully elegant place. The atmosphere was extremely nice, and our waiter Eliott was very nice. The food was just delicious. I had the Bbq ribs and they just fell off the bone. My husband had the steak and it was equally ad good.
We have always stopped in the lounge and have loved it. With Restaurant week we decided to try
the dining room and we were not sorry. Everything from the great waiter and fine food. Now we
will have to choose where to stop first. But we still dropped into the lounge. Great staff
The restaurant is old school Palm Springs elegance...dark, cozy seating in comfortable booths. The server was attentive and friendly, too. We dined with friends during Restaurant Week, always trying new places. Bernie's is not new, but this is the first time we tried it after reading the good reviews for years. We were not disappointed with the RW menu. Wonderful appetizers to try, a nice selection of entrees from fish to steak to pasta, and tasty desserts. We will be sure to include Bernie's on our go-to list in the future. BTW, I am told that the lounge has excellent entertainment and great happy hour fare.
Was not seated for 45 minutes past reservation, and took too long for server to take order. No one checked if things were OK, and steak was delivered cold - plate was hot but all the food was cold. Told server and all they did was put food back on grill and then meat was tough. All around bad experience- Valet was the best service of the night!
Very pleasant setting... nice booth table. Very Nice three course Restaurant Week Menu with nice portions, nice presentation, and tasty food. Good service and a nice greeting by the manager.
Had heard good things about Bernies’s but very disappointed. Ceasar salad good, steak entree poorly cooked and fatty.
I have enjoyed your restaurant before and took my friend there for his first time. We enjoyed Restaurant Week special!
We were seated but apparently the waiter was swamped and it took 35 minutes to take our order and had to ask for bread at that time. Someone did come by and take an initial drink order saying our waiter was swamped and then no one reappeared for 35 minutes. No apology, visit by the manager, or anything to make us feel we were valued as a customer
Horrible horrible service. Mediocre food.
