Benvenuti Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
I was sad when Salvatore Ristorante closed at this location, however Benvenuti Ristorante is everything that Salvatore was and more. I was happy to see some familiar faces when greeted by the hostess, and I was not disappointed in the quality of the food, drinks and service! This restaurant is on my "A" list of places to eat in Walnut Creek.
My husband and I have been to Benvenuti many times and decided to end the year eating delicious authentic Italian cuisine! We started the night at the bar with Vincenzo who in our opinion makes the best cocktails. We have had the opportunity to have different servers in the past and all are exceptional. Pamela helped us NY Eve and made our dining experience great...Thank you Pamela! We have tried many entrees on the menu and usually end up getting one of the specials and have never been disappointed. Benvenuti gets my vote for Best Italian food and customer service friendly restaurant in the East bay!
Updated decor was very stark and clean, our server Giovanni, son of the owner, was very energetic and engaging making the experience worth the trip.
The food was good old style Italian with a few new world twists - the carpaccio was fresh and tasty, the chicken with Marsala was OK, I expected a full chicken breast instead it was more a few tenderloin strips, the side vegetables were more like placeholders, needed garlic and seasoning.
It was a family get together and we were made to feel comfortable , we will try again.
We were headed to Cheesecake but it ended up being a 2.5 hour wait for our party of 8. I went on Open Table to find another Italian restaurant in WC and I'm so glad we found this little gem and were able to get last minute reservations. The owner was delightful and accommodating, and the food was authentic and delicious. Would definitely go back.
We weren't in a rush but the waiter service seemed so slow. The Perron who provided bread and water was very attentive and mindful. The food was good but not something that would pull me back again. The hostess was very friendly. The bread served with their signature sauce was amazing. Best part of the meal!
We went on a Saturday night and it was slammed. We were seated about 10 minutes after our reservation but that was ok. Our waiter was charming and apologized for our drinks taking a long time to be served. At the end of the delicious meals he brought us a free dessert due to the slower service.
This was our first visit to this restaurant. When we arrived, the place was packed with a pre-theater crowd, so if you'd like a little more peaceful meal on a Saturday evening, wait until 7:30. My husband loved his lasagne and my salmon dish was good, too. Both menu items seemed a bit overpriced. The waitress was cheerful and attentive, definitely a plus.
