What a gem! This was simply a fantastic dining experience all around. Seriously, this was a great date night for us. The food was excellent, the ambiance outside at dusk was lovely, and the service made you feel truly welcomed. Pro-tip: Get Branden as your server. I'm sure everyone is great, but I'd have a hard time seeing how anyone could be better!
Great Meal. The Braised Ribs are awesome! Highly recommended
I took my husband here to celebrate his birthday and wow, this place did not disappoint. We had the most wonderful server, Brandon, who really elevated our entire dining experience. We decided to order all of the appetizers as our meal and eat "tapas-style", which I recommend (I'm sure their entrees are delicious as well, though). I honestly could not pick a favorite dish; they were all fantastic. Brandon did an excellent job explaining dishes, answering questions, and catering to our needs. Thank you Brandon and Benne on Eagle for a great evening!
This place is special. Every dish was fantastic and the service was terrific. Highly recommend for any occasion!
We loved Benne. The chicken wings and jerk cauliflower had so many great spices. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and accommodating as we avoid gluten and dairy. All around it was a great experience!
Our second time here and everything was wonderful! Best short ribs I have ever had. Tender and falling apart. Wine list is small but covers all the bases with excellent options. We will be back!
Awesome food and service
Our server was outstanding and very attentive but the food was so mediocre and not worth all the money; the tab was just shy of $100. Benne did not live up to all the hype...
Great food and great service
Wonder spacing between tables, FABULOUS meal, and personable staff made for a wonderful meal
Server forgot to place out order, we had to wait a while for our breakfast. But she was very pleasant and apologetic.
Neat little find in the Foundry Hotel complex. Stopped in for breakfast on our way out of town. Service was a bit slow. The breakfast menu was a bit limited, but the food was decent and the value seemed ok. Overall, not a disappointment, but also not a place I would be rushing to go to again - at least not for breakfast / brunch.
The service and atmosphere were great. The food was delicious! Overall it was a wonderful dining experience.
The chicken wings and the accompanying sauce were delicious! 4 of our party of 6 ordered the short-ribs and couldn’t have been happier. The kimchi lived up to an authentic taste. I felt the tasting board could have used a small amount of fruit fresh or dried.
The hostess who greeted us from the pouring rain couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. We all noticed one waiter who seemed to almost gracefully glide thru the room with hands full.
Food overly salted; extreme flavors; unfriendly hostess; cheap pours of wine. The list goes on. This place is awful.
Lovely history in this homage to southern Appalachian cuisine.
We ate here because we stayed at the hotel. For sure stick with breakfast. That was at least decent. Dinner was not good, and there aren’t many options. Service was good. If only they could figure out a decent menu...the bone in pork chop was more like a thin cut, very dry, version of a dish I could cook at home, were I not a good cook. The sides are limited. No real options. It seems it’s broccoli rabe, or nothing. Another dish I saw on the menu had collard greens as a side. I asked if I could sub the broccoli rabe for collards, the answer was no, which I’ve never experienced before at any establishment. Is the chef so into himself that he thinks he created such a masterpiece that a side dish can’t be subbed out?
We had a lovely meal on the back patio. The berbere chicken was insanely good, as was the three tomato salad! The spices were a lovely balance of warming, spicy, and flavorful. Very ingeneous cocktails--- we loved the elderflower passionfruit one! Perfect for springtime. Thank you for a lovely meal.
We are locals who before the pandemic ate at Benne at least once a month. Since then they have changed chefs and the menu is different and much smaller, the dishes are smaller but the prices are the same and we did not enjoy the food nearly as much as before. I am sad to write this as Benne was one of our Asheville favs.
This is a s truly some of the best food in Asheville. Definitely a nice , different spin on some traditional fare.
Benne is one of our favorite places in town. The food always wows us and the service is impeccable. Highly recommend cocktails on their patio on beautiful evenings.
Great food.. Excellent service. Our table was ready when we arrived. The food is innovative and interesting .
Excellent venue; Menu was excellent, food qulality very good; Service attentive and respectful; A most enjoyable experience. It was a wonderful experience in all aspects of dining. Highly recommend this restaurant
Catie was very nice. Cauliflower dish was yummy. Hummingbird cake was just so-so.
Food was flavorless
It was great as always!
It was absolutely wonderful. My chop was tender and super juicy. The salad I had was fresh and delicious. Mac and cheese had a little kick to it. I wasn’t all that jazzed about the broccolini that came with my chop...prob needed to be a smaller portion....but it didn’t keep me from enjoying my dinner overall. I’d come back!!!
Great food and service ! One of our favorites as locals
great, fresh local sourcing ingredients. service was attentive. one of the best restaurants in Asheville.
The Nduja Gnocchi was one of the best dishes i have ever had! Our server was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain details of the menu. Highly recommended.
Wonderful atmosphere - spacious yet comfy, good rhythmic music but not too loud. We loved seeing the cooks cooking! The food was original, fresh and flavorful (seared trout was fabulous)! Delicious drinks!!!
Great food that is very unique, excellent wines, and terrific service.
Outdoor area unattractive- cold night and we were not told in advance the heater was not working nor offered indoor table instead. Waiter unbelievably inattentive- got several orders wrong and never brought some items but charged us anyway even after we told him we had not yet received and to just forget as we were moving to next course. Several dishes poorly seasoned. With so many terrific options in Asheville I would not recommend this place nor would I return.
We went out for date night while on vacation and Benne on Eagle did not disappoint. Cool vibe, great cocktails and beer list. We had the curried wings with coconut cilantro sauce for an appetizer. Then I had the gnocchi and my boyfriend had the curried pork. All absolutely incredible - would recommend to anyone in the area! Plus, it’s awesome that they have a strong commitment to empowering the local neighborhood!
Outstanding! The food was inventive and so delicious. Everything was made with care and love. The service was fun, friendly and professional. Looking forward to coming back soon!
Short ribs were delicious. Service was excellent. Looking forward to our next visit!
Their food was outrageous, this will definitely be out good to brunch spot.
Triple Celebration weekend: We are on our honeymoon and it is my sister in law and her friends birthday time!
We had a great experience! Not only were the food and cocktails beyond amazing, our server/bartender was so kind and helpful!
This was my first Covid-era outing, and got to spend it with people I love. Server was courteous and gave us plenty of time to linger over drinks and take our time ordering. The food was really good, imaginative and well-prepared. We ate on the covered porch and were totally comfortable despite the cool night. We felt very safe with the physical distancing and conscientious mask-wearing by staff and other customers. We all felt very good about this meal and will return!
