   My son and I celebrated my recent birthday this afternoon. The food and service were excellent. Joseph was our server/waiter and he was consistently efficient and responsive to our requests. He was professional and polite throughout the time we were there. Alexis was our chef. We came to find out that this was his first day on the job. You would have thought he was with Benihana for 10 years at least. The food he prepared for us was outstanding. He was also quite entertaining. Great job everyone!

   The service was terrible. We had to ask for the birthday picture that’s complementary and we have to constantly keep asking for water and different things that we need.

   I will begin with the chef’s negligence and inability to take gluten intolerance & celiac disease seriously! Firstly, My partner and I made a very concentrated effort to secure a restaurant that promised to not present issues w/ cross contamination of non-gluten free food & Gluten free food. At the restaurant, we verified that they would be able to accommodate the need, only to get to a communal table & watch the chef cook and cross-contaminate the food w/ his utensils and still serve up onions on the plate. The server made it seem as though there would be an order the chef would in fact follow to ensure everything would be ok. That was not followed and it just seemed to be no real care about the needs. We, too, made suggestions about what order made sense to have the food cooked as there were others we did not know at the table who didn’t understand the severity of our needs. It made it just that more frustrating and tense-filled. We had to continuously make the waiter aware and finally ended up suggesting to be removed from the communal table and be seated in the main dining area. After that, we were accommodated nicely by a waiter and the manager expressed his concern. He understood, and ultimately we did not have to pay. However, the entire experience stressed us out, and it wasn’t for a lack of wanting to be there. We had high hopes and got let down. Thankfully, management did the right thing by taking the hit and just allowing us to leave. We had spent about 2+hrs just trying to eat and we were not Chicago residents. We were in town visiting. Won’t do it again! The food was sub-par and not seasoned as much as we would like.

Accommodating dietary needs—especially celiac disease—is something we take seriously, and it's clear we failed to meet that standard during your visit. We understand how upsetting it was to feel unheard and unsafe, and we’re taking immediate steps to retrain our staff on strict gluten-free protocols. While we’re glad our manager was able to offer some resolution, we know that doesn’t undo the experience. We sincerely appreciate your input and the opportunity to improve.

   First time here love the experience, Abby put server guided us on reading the menu. I personally had the chicken and the rest of my party NY strips and the fried rice was phenomenal. Our cook Sedar gave an amazing show with really tasty food. Will definitely come back

   We loved this place for years but the pricing has gotten out of control. 30 bucks to feed a small child….fried rice is extra and not part of your basic meal….dropped over 350 bucks for a family of four with two adults and two small kids without alcohol…quality has gone down tremendously and portion sizes are less than half of what they used to be….Sad

   I frequent this place quite often and the food is always good but this las t time the food was bland. I will give it another try just not with that cook. I want say his name because he was so nice.
