My wife's birthday and in fact, the group that sat next to us had a birthday too. The other party received a nice dessert in celebration. We received nothing. Slow service, one needs to ask for bread. It came and was 3 or 4 very thin slivers of bread. We were still sitting with a half decanter of wine and the service person dropped our bill on the table. Very uncool. Very close quarters and no place to sit and wait until one's table is available. Would not return or recommend the restaurant.

Belotti quickly became our favorite restaurant after moving to Oakland. Staff is awesome and food is amazing. You’ll need to make a reservation in advance.

Best pasta in town. Salads and other extras are also great. Our only (minor) complaint is that they're heavy on pasta dishes that contain red meat. A few more vegetarian options would be great. Still, you can recommend to anyone with confidence.

Belotti is one of my favorite restaurants. The Agnolotti di Lidia is my favorite pasta and it is hard for me to try something else. But, you can't go wrong with the pastas. Pappardelle is a standout , as is Casoncelli. I have tried all of the appetizers-the simple salad and the antipasto are both excellent. I have never tried any of the main courses, because the pasta is so wonderful. You must try this restaurant. It may be short on decor but service is warm and thoughtful and the food is outstanding.
