   This is a very small and cosy restaurant with 10-12 tables, which we visited few years back and it was very good, that's why we came back, This time also the food was very good,, but service unfortunetelly was very dispointed, rude and we felt like we were treated in a discriminatory way. From the moment we walked in, we weren't welcomly greeted it was more..."oh ok..." the gentelman turn around and showed us a first table in the middle, I asked for different table, we were seated by the wall, the table was fine (unfortunatelly by the bathroom, which i later found out, but oh well my fault here, I picked it), table was clean, and set nicely, but the seat was full of bread crumbs, which i cleaned with my napkin before I sat down because I was wearing a white dress, and than I asked about clean napkin, the gentelman(which was our server as I found out later) gave me a look and took the napkin from the next table and gave it to me. From the moment we sat down we were ignored by our server for the next 15 minutes or more, we were aprochead by our busser, he brought us water, bread, olive oil, but not a server, no one asked us for drinks or told us special, untill we literly had do wave the server over and he said, "oh I was busy"....really (I was working in a restaurant business for over 15 years, you do not treat costumers or anyone like that, very rude), he had only three other tables, one he droped dessert and a check,the second he served food and the third, next to us he took an order...., (He was nice to all of them, but us) than finally he took our drink order, my husband asked about specialsl (the table next ours was talking about, so that's why we knew there are some), but he said "not now"....wow!!After he brought drinks, mu husband asked about specials again, the server rolled his eyes and finally told them to us. After dropping the food he didn't check on us, I had to call him to order bottle of wine... very disapointed. Tip should go to buser not a server!!!

   My husband’s drink was wrong, he mentioned it but our waitress did nothing. Their fryer’s oil needs to be changed & cleaned more often. Husband had the Shrimp dish and I had the filet. I asked for medium but received an  inconsistent cook - half Medium Rare and other side was slightly better. The cut was not their price.

   I have enjoyed my previous visits to this restaurant, but this weekend’s was the worst. I brought a friend from out of town, and after praising the restaurant to him, our server proceeded to ignore him. Twice, she asked if I wanted something, but didn’t ask him. In both cases, she went ahead and gave the same to him, which he didn’t want. The final insult was overcharging my credit card, which Citibank thankfully took care of for me.

   My wife, sister-in-law, and I decided to have dinner at Bellissimo Restaurant in downtown Fairfax, VA, to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The appetizers and food were delicious. The wait staff was attentive without being overbearing. It is not an inexpensive restaurant, but not outrageous for the quality of food either. I definitely recommend Bellissimo for special occasions and quality time together.

   The menu is outstanding, as is presentation of food. Service a little slow. No recognition of birthday celebration which I requested. Noise level was very high, to the point that even leaning in to the table was not a guarantee of being able to hear my guest.

    I can’t say enough good things about this dining experience. The service was spot on and attentive. The food was delicious, as was expected because this was our second experience at Bellissimo. And if that wasn’t enough, because it was my birthday, we received a slice of scrumptious cheese cake to share as a gift. If there is a negative, it’s that we and another couple were the only ones in the restaurant. More people need to know about this fabulous restaurant.

    This was our first visit, and while we appreciated being at a table in an alcove (since it made conversation easy), the space was awkward to get in to and made service equally awkward: we had to pass plates and water glasses to one another and it felt as thought the servers were right on top of us. The evening special was veal stuffed ravioli with a quail as well as a linguini with clams and red sauce. The ravioli was good, the sauce spectacular, but the quail was so tough I could not eat it. The linguini was fine. Desserts were OK. It was not the hospitable or dining experience we had been led to believe would be the case. Not a bad experience, just so-so. Very expensive so-so.

    The food and service were even par with the price. We tried the Burrata, which was an off the menu special for the evening. The table shared the Insalata Bellissimo and I had the Veal Al Porcini as my meal. The rest of the table having had Penne Juliana, and Linguine Frutti Mare, I tasted them all and was pleasantly pleased with each. For dessert we each indulged with our own treat; the birthday boy chose the Strawberry Cheesecake, I had the chocolate mousse but we all agreed the Cannoli was The Best! The delicious bottle of Crianza paired each sip very nicely with each bite. Parking was fairly easy on the street. We had reservations and were addressed quickly. Food order was taken promptly and meals were delivered timely.

    Fairfax City’s extended Restaurant Week was basis for our inclination to dine at Bellissimo which is one of our favorites. Prix fixe menu was another draw. Wine list is yet another reason, and the service is always stellar.

    We dined here to take advantage of Restaurant Week. The food was delicious & the service outstanding. We enjoyed the house Merlot wine & the atmosphere. We especially loved the Caesar salad & sausage fagioli, the crab stuffed ravioli & the tiramisu.

    Tired atmosphere, the food is good but overpriced for the experience. We spent $100 for the restaurant pre fixe and a glass of wine each- in at 4:45 and out by 5:25. I think they need to remodel the place, no ambiance whatsoever. Really need these fairfax city restaurants to step it up, many seem stuck in the 1990s.

    We went during restaurant week an unlike other area restaurants they pretty much held to the special menu; no substitutions or 'ordering ' from the regular menu...very frustrating Many of the pasta specials were not available. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The dinner portion size was not on par with Vienna/Oakton and other Fairfax resturants.

    This is a cozy little restaurant located in downtown Fairfax City. The restaurant is small and intimate. The minute we walked in the door we were transported to Tuscany. The attentive staff were part of the family. The food was served quickly and was delicious. I had the tomato caprese tower and the chicken marsala, which was served with lightly whipped potatoes and green beans - a pleasant change from the traditional heavy pasta side. My husband had the house salad and the veal ragu pasta. We finished the meal with cannoli and coffee. This is by far the best Italian restaurant this side of Florence.

    We went for the three course restaurant week. Food was very good. The only reason it was not rated excellent was my chicken marinara. The chicken was cooked to long and was tough instead of tender.

    We do not live close to Bellissimo, but try to go there a couple of times a year. We always find the food to be perfectly prepared and the service to be quite good. We do miss the waiter we met there many years ago. He was from Italy and we found it interesting to chat with him about the places we had been when we toured Italy.

    Had a wonderful leisurely lunch at Bellissimo with two friends who had never been there. We started with a bottle of wine and delicious bread with olive oil. I had a wonderful Caesar salad, perfectly cooked salmon and a side of pasta with Alfredo sauce and their incredible tiramisu with cappuccino for dessert. My friends were very happy with their choices and plan to put this restaurant on their “favorites” list as I have for years….. highly recommend if you want authentic Italian cuisine.

    Always worth the drive from DC! She had the veal special with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I had ravioli studded with crabmeat in a light red-cream sauce. The salads were fresh and crisp, martinis made to order and a great wine, Montepulciano, that did not break the budget. Cannoli and espresso for dessert. Fantastic!!

    A delightful dinner for date night last night. The veal was tender as always, and the calamari delicately fried. The cannoli was delicious, and the bottle of Amarone was one of our favorites! All with attentive and thoughtful service. Can't wait to go back. We've stayed away too long!

    My husband and I dined here for the 1st time for a cozy Valentine’s lunch. We are locals here in Fairfax and had never dined here before. Our table looked out on the street, which was very charming on a nice sunny day. The food was very authentic northern Italian. The fresh Italian white bread with sesame seeds and olive oil dip were very good. We also drank a delicious dry white wine from the Umbrian region of Italy(where we were married 10 years ago). We enjoyed our Pan-seared Halibut and Veal Napoli as well as our Cheesecake with fresh strawberries. Everything was fresh and delicious with a nice presentation. The waitstaff were polite and kind.     A small family run restaurant. Family run with authentic Italian food. No pizza or sub sandwiches on the menu. I go for the vitelllo Ala portichino. Veal in a creamy porticini mushroom sauce. Being from South Carolina, this my first dinner stop when I come to the area.

    I took my mother-in-law for lunch and we were happy to know that restaurant week has been extended. I ordered the Caesar salad, which was way over dressed and the chicken marsala as my entrée and asked to replace the mashed potatoes with a side of pasta. The original meal came with broccoli. When I got my dish, there was no broccoli and the chicken was very very tough. Over the top with mushrooms and sauce, but it did not help and I didn’t get my broccoli . I have been going there for 20 years. I’m not really sure what happened but it was not a good experience.
