Bella's Restaurant is the place to go for authentic Italian cuisine in Charlottesville, Virginia. Owner Valeria Bisenti wanted to share all the great food from her native Rome when she opened Bella's Restaurant in 2012. The warm, relaxed dining room along with the friendly and attentive staff will make you feel right at home. Add in an array of delicious menu options and that explains the eatery's popularity. The menu at Bella's Restaurant features traditional Italian classics like sausage and peppers, porchetta and zuppa di pesce. The make-your-own-pasta option offers classic pastas choices with a variety of sauce and meat combinations, including veal. No meal at Bella's is complete without the signature Coliseum dessert: vanilla ice cream with pecan praline, chocolate, raspberry and caramel.

A friend came in from your Erie Pa and that was the first place to visit. Very good service and especially great food!!

We had a wonderful evening with Bella. Our group of 9 sampled several items on the menu and enjoyed each one. Although our group came in late the staff was happy to have us and the owners stopped by our table on several occasions to check on us. We will go again when we return to the area.

My wife and I were guests Saturday. As always, Bella, Doug and their staff (especially Andre) were very helpful and courteous. My wife is disabled in a wheelchair and they're always very, very accommodating. The food, wine, service= THE BEST!!!!!!!!

This was our first visit to Bella's and it will certainly not be our last. There are many very fine restaurants in Cville. Bella's is right up there at the top our our list for a wonderful evening with excellent service and great food.

Bella's is a cozy little restaurant that feels like fine dining but doesn't have to clean out your wallet. Good for groups, because all the dishes are made for 2 or 4. It's not too expensive if you split a meal! Great food! It was delicious!

Very welcoming place. Helpful, patient, efficient service. Big platter, family style dining. Share everything with friends and family. Actually would recommend that you order several antipasti or starters. We ordered three (calamari, mussels and antipasto platters) and they were all excellent. The mussels were plump, juicy and cooked perfectly. The cooking broth for the mussels and for dipping the crusty bread was the hit of the evening for our group of six.

We loved our experience on Friday, but unfortunately the owners were on vacation - always love seeing them and chatting. Bella's is a great place.

I don't like to write a poor review but the restauranteur deserves some feedback. The service was friendly and prompt. The appetizer, a sort of hot sandwich with capers, mozeralla, and a sauce was excellent. My husband's dish which contained a variety of seafood over pasta looked good but the fillet of fish on top did not taste very fresh. My primavera pasta dish had lots of vegtables that were tasty, but the dish was not quite hot enough when it arrived. Also, the sauce seemed a bit oily and thin.

This was my 5th visit since opening (did not live in area the entire time). I love the family style menu and enjoy going with groups and ordering several dishes for "2". This way you get to experience a good variety of the dishes. The food is consistentlly good/great and the Osso Buco special was exceptional. My only criticism about this visit is that the service was not as good as other visits. It took much too long to get both water and drinks made from the bar. Also, the only hot dish that was served "hot" was the Osso Buco, the other entrees were warm, but not hot. We had hungry children with us and did not send anything back. Had I been with a different group, I would have. Hot food should always be hot. :) With that said, this will not stop me from returning. I will simply speak up the next time, if it happens again.
