Every dish was terrific and the service was friendly, extremely helpful and very efficient.
Such a lovely neighborhood gem. The food is very authentic with specials every day. Service is welcoming and professional.
Cozy and delightful little eatery. The food was delicious. Would definitely go back again.
Showed up exactly on time with open table reservation. Was told they did not have reservation, or they could not access it. Very rudely told us we could not stay, had no place to sit or later times available. Will not be back. Ever.
While the food was very good, unfortunately due to COVID restrictions, we were seated outside on the patio. It probably wouldn’t have been that bad but there were no fans outside or misters so it was a very “sweaty” experience, to say the least. Perhaps this will change going forward but it would make sense to check first on whether they have placed any fans in the patio area.
We always eat here at least one time when we are out in palm desert. The food is good and love spring local business. The staff are always kind. Highly recommend.
We made the reservation on Open Table for Monday August 3rd, received a confirmation only to arrive at the Restaurant and fund it closed
Solid value for Italian restaurant. Good location on Country Club Drive.
Was in town for business and spent the night. Was looking for a good meal after a long hot day. The service was excellent as well as the food. The Chicken Parmesan I ordered was as good as any I've ever had plus the portion could feed a small family! Because of COVID the atmosphere was a little lonely but that's what we're dealing with right now. I definitely reccomend it!
Very slow service. Scampi overcooked. Beans undercooked. Pasta mediocre. Marinara did not taste like marinara.
Entrees were delicious but the appetizers were lacking. We had the best moscato ever! Service was excellent.
Very attentive and pleasant staff. They took our temperature at the entry and made sure there was appropriate separation of tables and guests. Food was excellent. I would highly recommend.
It's always great!
The service and food is always good.
In light of the Coronavirus an attempt to put their best face on a bad situation - there was no need for cheap plastic table covers instead of paper; oil and vinegar in a cheap small plastic containers, really? There are better solutions.
We were their on a Tuesday evening early and it was very quiet. The food as always was very good. We had carpaccio- gnocchi- and veal piccata. All excellent. Hopefully they will get busier as people get to know they are bCk open. Had their masks on and pay attention to social distancing.
Have been there several times. Food and service is great.
It was great! Great food and wonderful service
Authentic Italian food. Great Value. We will be back.
We arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation. However, we were seated immediately. It was our first time visit and we would definitely return. We were celebrating a birthday and received a delicious slice of cake and happy birthday song. A nice touch.
The hostess seated us later than our reservation. The dinner was good, but the waiter and hostess made fun of us when we asked for Creme brûlée saying it wasn’t a French restaurant. The web site shows creme brûlée as a dessert. They should probably fix there web site and not mock their customers.
We have been many times in the past- the menu has changed and we were slightly disappointed
They do a terrific job each time with great food and wonder service.
a big disappointment. not good at all. would not go back. also pricey for what you got.
Unfortunately the restaurant said they didn't have our reservation and we were stuck with a 30 min. wait for a table. The Hostess was clearly overwhelmed and people who had reservations after us were seated before us. One we had a table, the service was great and the food was really good. I'd go again, but not on a weekend. I'd also phone to confirm your reservation.
I give 4 stars for the main course and chocolate cake desert...read on.
The bread was stale and tasteless.
I had called weeks in advance and requested a quiet corner table. Hostess was great and they knew about the request, however when we arrived we had to wait15 minutes to be seated. As I mentioned the hostess was really very nice. She rates a 4.
However our celebratory night out was off to a bad start initiated by our waiter.
Aside from his demeanor (not friendly at all) he positively butchered opening up a very special bottle of wine we had brought to celebrate. I told him the wine is special. He grabbed it and began to open it. I asked him to take his time, be very gentle. I told him its an older wine. He continues to butcher the opening as he looks at me telling me he knows how to open a bottle of wine. He broke off half the cork!
The pasta was fresh and delicious and the Osobucco was excellent.
The chocolate cake was one of the best, and the wine we brought lived up to our wishes, it was outstanding.
I also cannot rate a restaurant based on a very bad waitperson.
The restaurant is nice, open, a little loud but the food is good and because of that we'll be going back.
We had reservations for Valentine’s Day and once we were seated, we told the waitress there would only be 2 of us as our friends had to cancel. The hostess then came over and said we had to move to a smaller table as they had other larger parties coming in. We preferred our existing table and said so but she insisted we move to the less desirable table. Shortly thereafter, another couple arrived and the hostess seated them at our first table. They proceeded to tell waitress they were alone. Seeing the dilemma, the hostess and waitress left an additional place setting on the table to make it appear someone else was expected. Then our new waiter came to take our order and said we needed to hurry as they were booked! This wasn’t the case as plenty of tables were available throughout the evening. We spoke with the manager about our experience and he wasn’t apologetic. The hostess admitted to the sham of the additional place setting too!
Very small and cozy Food as always fabulous. Servers are the best
Bella Vita is a gem of a restaurant at Cook and Country Club. Very friendly, great service, and delicious food!
Nice selection of various Italian cuisine. Service was spot-on, very attentive staff. Priced right, not overly-high like some other restaurants capitalizing on location. Nice wine list also. Not necessarily a "must-visit" but a nice place to dine nonetheless!
Excellent food and atmosphere. The friendly staff also adds to the ambience.
Service was attentive but far too fast. Food was excellent.
Be prepared for a totally filled restaurant for 6:00 reservations. Very difficult to hear because there are so many people seated at the same time. Food was just "okay".
A wonderful meal and great service in a charming place.
WE love Bella Vita and so did our friends..I think our waiter was new and unsure of himself..but overall it’s the same friendly and yummy Bella Vita
good place for honest food with quality and freshness
All in all, a very good experience (as always). The one thing that was a little disconcerting was that our server seemed to be "pushing" us as soon as we sat down. That was not the evening we were anticipating and expected at Bella Vista.
We try to visit once or twice each month as the food is superb. Authentic. Delicious. If you like osso bucco this is the place. The meat sauce is excellent, the pasta . . .what more can I say. YUMM!
It's a never-ending story here in the Desert: a decent restaurant flirts with disaster during the season. Service was rrrrrrushed!! It was Saturday night and busy and they were obviously trying to turn the tables over quickly. A waiter introduced himself as our waiter at the beginning and we never saw him again. The evening was a constant stream of different people doing different things. The highlight came as we were halfway through our appetizer and two waiters came bearing our entrees. They attempted to rearrange plates and remove what was left of our appetizer and only stopped when I objected and asked them to hold the entrees in the kitchen. Rude!! We are year-round residents of the Desert and have visited this restaurant many times before. We won't be back before the summer...actually...since you didn't have any time for us in January...maybe we'll just let you miss us in July...
Friendly staff and wonderful Veal Parmesan. Crowded and noisy.
Excellent food - straight forward Italian restaurant menu but the service and the food was wonderful. We are traveling across the Southwest but ate here 2 of 3 nights because there was enough variety in the menu that we wanted to try different items. The veal & chicken & oso bucco were excellent and the clams with angle hair pasta in a white wine sauce were all as good as any Italian restaurant in NYC or Boston. Our server, Ruben, was as good as they come - attentive but not hovering. This was a great find in the desert!
