Went before Bruins game.. had fried calamari for appetizer and veal cacciatore. Portions were very generous and both items were Cooke perfectly.. All at a super reasonable price.
Outstanding meal - Tony was amazing. Hands down best restaurant in Boston ❤️
A quaint little Italian restaurant with excellent service. Be prepared to be entertained by family stories and relishing in the past. You’ll feel like family and the food tastes like nonna made it. A must in the North End.
Excellent dinner! Restaurant has great ambience and the food was delicious!
Excellent place. Not as glitzy as some of the other places on Hanover street but maybe that’s a good thing-easier to get in. Amazing food. Piccata was the best I’ve ever had. Will definitely go back!
This is the real thing! Old fashioned Italian. The manicotti is outstanding. Chicken dishes have such tender and well seasoned meat. We loved the service and felt like we were made a part of their family. We will be back!
We have been dining here for over 30 years and Bella Vista never fails to delight.
this is a lovely little restaurant family owned and run. Food was excellent and staff was great.
Had a blast. They made us feel so welcomed. The food was amazing and the service was top shelf. Thanks for a great visit.
The very best food on Hanover Street! The service was exceptional with pleasant, friendly, and attentive waitstaff. Wonderful ambiance & a fantastic value compared to the overpriced fare at other nearby restaurants. If I could give it 10 stars I would! I can’t wait to come back next time I’m in Boston.
This is the Italian restaurant of memories: opera in the background, classic dishes, and the feeling of family. The pasta is fresh, the sauce is a lovely blend with the taste of ripe tomatoes, and the espresso is fantastic. Is it pretentious? No. Is it delicious? Yes. No photos, because we were enjoying everything so much that we forgot!
Amazing food, amazing staff and service!! We love this place!!
I’ve been dining at Bella Vista for over 20 years. I now live across the country, but at least one night each Boston visit is dedicated to the North End and Bella Vista. Their food is always delicious and likely one of the more affordable in the neighborhood. I also love that the same people (servers/hosts) are there to great us. I highly recommend!
Sold Italian food in the North End.
Family run. Good service and value.
The staff is amazing and the food is beyond phenomenal
Great food - friendly and attentive service!
Waiter was brusque, no eye contact, didn’t ask us if we wanted drinks before our meal. Food was adequate but we didn’t feel welcome.
Food was great , was not to expensive, good date spot
The food was good. The service was good. The decor was neither here nor there. Nothing remarkable or disappointing. Just there.
My fiancé and I visited Boston on a whim and knew we had to find authentic Italian food. We stumbled across Bella Vista and decided to give it a try. We do not regret our decision. The food, service and overall experience was amazing. Every bite of food melted in our mouth, the flavor was out of this world. Not only did we receive our food quick, we didn’t have to touch a thing on our table. Tony made sure that we didn’t need to lift a finger, except for our forks and wine of course. I highly recommend Bella Vista. We will be back the next time we’re in Boston.
Excellent food and experience.
This was our second trip to Bella Vista in 2 years. Food was exactly as we remembered it. Delicious and fresh, hearty portions for good value. Staff is friendly and unobtrusive, doesn’t rush old friends who like to linger over a glass of wine or cappuccino to catch up since the last visit.
Quaint Italian spot in north end that took off with traditional Italian style salad and concluded with an expresso. Bring your appetite!
A great restaurant with a true Italian family feel. Service was simply fabulous, food was delicious.
Awesome food. Attentive staff.
I highly recommend! Delicious food and fabulous service! A new “go to” for sure!
This place is a hidden gem, outstanding food and service.
Lovely old school Italian, treated like family, excellent food, lovely setting.
Overall great experience. Old Italian and delicious!
In my former job I dined here with clients many times over many years at this family owned, North End Boston gem. Their food is always delicious, authentic.
Our group of 5 last evening ran very late getting there but I called and Anthony was more than helpful in moving our reservation. Everyone loved their meal (as I knew they would). They are a beer and wine establishment, so if mixed drinks are a necessity, that may be an issue for some. But if you are looking for excellent Italian at reasonable prices, I recommend Bella Vista.
Great food! I’ll be back
Quite possibly the best Italian we’ve ever had in the North End…from the bread and oil, antipasto, chicken and eggplant/veal, chicken ziti broccoli, chicken piccata— all top notch! So reasonable too — cannot wait to return! Still full!
Great place in the North End with a menu offering traditional Italian dishes. It appeared to be a family owned and operated restaurant. Anthony, the owner was very attentive to our needs and the food was delicious.
The food was amazing, we have been to a lot of places in the north end and so far this has been our favorite even our kids agreed. We will be back, this is our new go to restaurant in the north end.
Had the best dinner, the staff is absolutely wonderful and the food is delicious!
Amazing food, great table…Thank you Tony for the unforgettable experience
I was a bit apprehensive when we arrived and there were no other diners in the restaurant but all fears were erased the minute we started to eat! The food was exceptional! Not the heavily sauced drowning in cheese fare you can see sometimes in the North End. The flavor in every dish came through - from the manicotti to the chicken saltimboca - it all tasted great. Portion sizes were perfect (I hate when you are served a disgustingly large amount to hide that there is no taste - not the case here!). Attentive service without feeling rushed. We will be sure to return!
I selected the restaurant as the first dinner for our anniversary trip to the Boston area. The staff was absolutely incredible at this smaller gem within the North End Little Italy district. They were not only friendly and attentive, they were great ambassadors of Boston, giving my wife and I great advice about the city and all it had to offer.
I can’t say enough about the food, from the antipasto salad to the pasta fagioli, to the breads and entrees. It was evident that everything was made with the care and that only comes from an effort of love in a dynamic not focused on volume.
I don’t take anything away from the other Italian establishments in the North End, but as far as I’m concerned Bella Vista represents the best in the neighborhood.
