We have enjoyed dining at Bella Vie several times in the past few months. The quality of the food is outstanding, and the chef made special accomodations for one of our guests. The service was acceptable, though a bit disjointed since we had three people attending to us throughout the meal. Overall we had a wonderful experience!
Great food, great value in a picturesque setting. You won't be disappointed.
Bella Vie helpfully accommodated several of us for a small birthday celebration on the outside patio. We were the only ones seated out there, so it was nice to have that space to ourselves during our dinner, especially on a nice summer evening. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive throughout our meal, and were great about letting us bring in a birthday cake, which they completely helped serve. From drinks to appetizers and to the entrees, every person in our dinner party loved all of the food that they ordered.
The food was outstanding but the restaurant is somewhat seedy even though it's in a beautiful location. The interior could seriously use some updating
Slow service good food
Pleasantly surprised- good food and value
There was a party next to us that was very loud, so it was hard to judge the noise level. Our waiter was very attentive and the food choices were excellent. The only drawback was that the prices were a little high, but the portion sizes were good. We will definitely give them another try.
Great food and service. Would definitely go back. Great place to book a special party.
Excellent food and service and a beautiful view. We had a great lunch and good conversation without competing with the music and background noise.
Gross and will never go back
The food and service was excellent, the atmosphere was quiet cozy and serine. I was there on a first date and I’m sure we’ll be back.
Atmosphere was great - wonderful view of the water, quiet music. Food was excellent except for the Calamari which was slightly on the chewy side. Disappointed that they ran out of my favorite dessert Tiramisu but the Bonet was a pleasant substitute. Service was on point - did not feel rushed and they made sure everything was to our satisfaction. Menu was prix fixe so will return another day to experience the full menu.
Totally satisfactory all around. Excellent food good service nice ambiance. On the water. Get there early enough to enjoy the lake view. Would of liked a more extensive wine list.
Great food..nice place and good service! I would recommend every one to go there .
Went there for the first time during Restaurant Week. The food was very good and we had a table overlooking the scenic lake. Service was good but had to wait awhile for the check. We will be back.
My wife and I went there for restaurant week. Both the service and the food was excellent.
We were initially put off by the large TV in the dining room. That had a hockey game on. Next came the waiters “joke” when he delivered my husband a captain Morgan & Coke - my husband does not drink & only ordered a Coke & when he said to the waiter I just wanted a Coke he said I know I was joking - not funny. We then waited 45 minutes for appetizers (and watched two tables seated after us get their apps & entrees) I ordered the eggplant meatballs that were served ice cold in the middle. At that point we decided to leave. We told the waiter we wouldn’t be staying & would like to pay for our drinks. He never returned. We left money on the table & left- no one noticed
We originally had a 6:15 reservation but friends in our party were delayed. I called to see if they could hold our table and the woman I spoke to was more than understanding and offered to change us to 6:45. We did not expect a 6:45 reservation to be so crowded and noisy, but it was during Restaurant Week. We were seated immediately at our reserved table. Waitress was lovely, thorough and provided excellent service. Each course during dinner was outstanding. Owner/ maitre de (?) checked on us throughout the evening. There was live music, which all in our group of 4 felt was too loud for the venue, but apparently this is a “draw” for many of the patrons there, who appeared to visit regularly. We will definitely return, just not on a Thursday evening, if we want a quiet experience. Will also recommend to others. Looking forward to trying Sunday brunch.
We went during restaurant week for a birthday dinner, and have been to this restaurant quite a few times previously. The salmon with lobster sauce and short ribs were very good, as was the frito misto appetizer. The eggplant meatballs were outstanding! Desserts of tiramisu and pistachio chocolate flan were very good too!
We visited during Long Island Restaurant Week. The special menu had wonderful options, it was difficult to choose but we were not disappointed. The view of the water out the large windows was peaceful and beautiful. I would definitely recommend this little gem of a restaurant and we will be back.
Really a great find! What an incredible view! We had the salmon and chicken parmesan and the food was absolutely delicious. We can't wait to come back!
Good food. Good view. Service not rushed. Nice choices on the menu.
Long Island Restaurant week prefixe $29.95 is an excellent value. For the price of an entrée on the regular menu, the special included an appetizer, entrée, and dessert. Portions were large, good variety in choices, and portions were large. The setting is beautiful with a view of the lake from large windows.
Fantastic brunch. Excellent view by the pond. Our server was wonderful and the food was amazing. Great cocktails too’
Food was excellent. Everything from the salmon to the pork chops to the duck were done perfectly.
We enjoyed this dining at this venue. We liked the traditional Italian cuisine. The view of the lake is beautiful. We look forward to returning during the summer months to experience the outdoor lakeside veranda.
The food was great and it had a beautiful view of the little lake out back. But we were completely mislead. There was no indication that it was a forced pri fixed menu for Easter Sunday. We were extremely unhappy with this. If a restaurant is going to do that open table / and the restaurant menu should alert you before hand. We would not of gone there as my family paid for dessert no one wanted.
The dinner menu was varied and we had a group of 5 so there was something for everyone. One of our party is a very good cook herself and Loved loved the baked clams!
Service by Ruby was superb! Very helpful, friendly and unobtrusive.
Lovely place on a pond.. don’t let the outside deceive you!
Consistently excellent food!
Very nice place to dine. The view of the lake is beautiful and the musical talent was a perfect fit. Quite a romantic place to dine and have also family get together s. Management is also very pleasant.
Belle Vie is in a picturesque location overlooking a lake. The restaurant has a warm ambiance, professional, but not "stuffy" service and the food is delicious!
First time at this new restaurant, formerly Arie Melanie-- Excellent food- My wife had the special veal chop and I had the filet mignon- both were delicious and prepared perfectly. For appetizers, we shared the lasagna and Caprese salads--they split it for us in separate plates and they were both amazing .
Excellent wine list and full service bar. Can't wait to come back-- ask to sit near water.
Went late on a Friday night with my wife. Rooms are small so when there is a table of 8 in the room that were there it is hard to have a conversation.
Never would want to sit in room by kitchen, but others seem nice. Staff were all very nice and professional. We really enjoyed our meals as the Chef is very creative. Would have been more enjoyable if not for the big table by us, no fault of the restaurant.
Food and service is always good, sometimes better than others, depending on the day and time of your reservation.
The food was very good as was the staff. There happened to be some loud diners at the next
table that is why I rated the noise level at 1/2. Very nice evening, the view of the pond was lovely.
The view was amazing - the food and service as well. The nice touch was the owner greeted you at the door and at the table.
The Gnocchi was the best I've ever had. Our party of 7 vowed to return. I want to try the broccoli ravioli next. Not thrilled with the wine list. I would like to see Moscato offered. It was a bit pricey, but definetly worth it. It now rates with Mario's in Happauge with me for best Italian restaurant on LI.
Great service. Amazing views. Delicious food. What else more can one ask for.
Outstanding food, service and ambiance. 5 star. Definitely recommend.
The staff was excellent from the Bar to the waitress . This was a first for us , we were are party of 4, the food was delicious , the menu had many choices . I am already planning on making this my go to restaurant for the future. Felt very warm and friendly .. The view of the swans was just icing on the cake .
