Beerbistro specializes in cooking with beer and providing a wide variety of beers to pair with each dish. On the menu, you’ll find a suggested pairing with every item, from appetizers and small plates to sandwiches, salads, main courses and pizzas. The motto at Beerbistro is "changing the way people think about beer," and it does that every day.
Start your meal with a creative appetizer or small plate like the Scotch egg, cheese & lager fondue or potato truffle perogies. Next, indulge in a sandwich or main course like the signature Bistro beer burger, lamb shortloin or snap pea tagliatelle. Beerbistro also has a variety of innovative pizza options like duck confit and hog wild pizzas. If you’re in the mood for seafood, choose from a range of mussles steamed in beer broth and served with fresh baked sourdough bread.
We live in Mississauga and we dine there when ever we are in the city for a show or other event. It's always a treat and the fries are amazing!!
Best place in Toronto for lunch and dinner, great menu, great beer choices. Excelent for all occasions. The fries/frits are out of this world, among many menu listings. Would recommend the Beer Bistro to locals and visitors alike, for a great dining and beer experience.
I always go to Beer Bistro when I am visiting Toronto. And I always sit at the counter. The bartenders are very helpful with info about the myriad of beer choices - they know there products. The food is delicious. Since my wife can't eat shellfish and we don't have it at home, I always have the mussels - a classic Belgium dish. As a change of pace on the second night I was there, I had their version of the Nicoise salad. Creative and tasty. The generous serving of smoked trout in the dish made me happy. FYI -it's not a salad bowl with tons of lettuce.
We always make sure to eat here every time we come to TO. Best fries ! And always accommodating food allergies .
Most of the time great service, except this last visit when the waitress was on a rush and rush us every step of the dinner!
This was a great restaurant for 2 adults and 2 teens. Great food for all and some interesting local and international beer choices.
Food was delish, had Belgian frites, El Diablo mussels and Pear cider... The staff was friendly and gave great recommendations on the beers to try. The only thing I wished was that we didn't have to wait an hour for our food... Otherwise, it was a fantastic dinner!
The fotos was way too salty!!! I had the steak frites and my friend the salmon... My other friend had the pork chop and it was blend...
Not only do they have a tremendous beer list, their menu is fantastic as well. The wild hog pizza was fantastic, however, some may find it a little too sweet. The Kobe beef tacos were sublime! The big winner of the night was the pulled pork and Gouda poutine. It is only available on their late night menu, and is possibly the best poutine I have ever had. I will definitely be back to try more dishes.
This was my second time at the beerbistro. The location gets quite busy during lunch, I suggest making a reservation if your party is more than two.
I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. its always good but messy as well. Service was great, the waiters really welcome you in & take care of you.
Would definetly attend again.
We did not drink beer, so the specialty of the venue was lost on us. The food was enjoyable, but not spectacular. I ordered the buffalo cobb salad. Some of the items listed on the menu for the salad did not appear in the salad.
The noise level was low which was good for conversation; not sure if this was because the restaurant wasn't full.
The service was very good
The fries are outstanding, and one serving is enough for 3 people! They have an extensive beer list, but they don't neglect the non-beer drinkers as they also offer signature cocktails. The restaurant was busy, but the vibe was great and it was not too noisy. This is a great place to grab a bite and drinks with friends.
Great food and great beer selection. Strong value for the dollar. Can't really ask for more.
I came to this restaurant for dinner with my sister and mother before heading out to a musical. I'm usually not the biggest fan of muscles, but I heard good things, so I ordered the spicy thai (I believe it was) muscles. They were very delicious and fit for a foodie! I am converted...plus, the sourdough bread was amazing! Oh....and of course, delicious beer! My only complaint is that the waiter was pretty short with us, and was already half walking away when we asked for something....it was clear he was not very passionate about his job...although he was quick in getting what we asked for....could have been worse. Overall, good experience, but would have preferred a friendlier server.
Our server was excellent. She was new but worked really hard and was knowledgeable on the menu.
Great food, fantastic variety of beers, and wonderful recommendations built into the menu.
We would definitely go again!
I had a hankering for Beer Bistro's mussels - New England style (1 of their 5 options for mussels). Had this dish when I was last there about 3 months ago, and it clearly stuck in my mind it was so good the last time, and once again it did not disappoint. It's a bit paradoxical to label such a small meal as rich and hearty, but that the sense I was left with on both occasions.
Maybe that had something to do with the accompanying order of Belgian Frites (cooked in duck fat and beef fat). Wholly decadent but kind of obligatory with every visit, tho with such a generous helping it's a dish that should be shared.
The Bistro was packed at 9:30pm on a Monday, with an animated and somewhat loud crowd, that thinned out a fair bit around 10. A great atmosphere, helpful wait staff, delicious food, and I almost forgot the 150 beers, ales and ciders to choose from, soon to grow to 225 according to our waitress.
The freshly made pizza was outstanding. The salmon was very good but somewhat undercooked to our medium-well request. The kitchen quickly cooked it a bit more and all was well. Also our bill was adjusted.
Food and serve was good. Good lunch spot with coworkers but would not recommend client lunches.
Food and portion size were ok, not as good as I had expected. Burger was tiny. Fondue was good, but kind of spoilt by the dry hunks of white bread that came with it. Could have been so much better. Beer was great, as was the service
We had an amazing experience at BeerBistro and would recommend it to anyone! The food was delicious and unique (duck fat fries, duck and goat cheese benedict served on potato pancakes.....wow!). Not to mention a beer list that can't be rivalled, with unique drinks for those that might want to try something a bit eclectic (perhaps a beermosa?!). We started off our visit by being late due to traffic, the staff were wonderful and helpful. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about all of the menu items and all of the beers.....our table sampled many of them and left it to the waitress to provide dealer's choice, no one was left unsatisfied. All of the food was cooked perfectly and seasoned with awesome flavor. We would go back again for brunch or dinner!
We thoroughly enjoyed out night in Toronto following a fantastic dinner at BeerBistro. The service, quality of food, portion sizes, and menu options were all commendable; we opted to try the Belgian Mussels, Sweet Potato Pizza, and Caesar Salad alongside a selection of local and international beers. Our server knew which beers to recommend as pairings alongside our meals, and her service was both polite and professional. The atmosphere was lively, though not so loud that you felt uncomfortable. Overall, I would return to BeerBistro the next time I am in the city and would recommend this establishment to a friend.
We went to Beer Bistro for a lunch with a potential new client. It was packed but the we could still hear each other clearly, and the energy suited the group we were with.
The beer selection here is great, as you'd expect, and the food is really good as well. I had the Belgian Muscles which were fresh and tasty, especially with a big chunk of bread.
I'd definitely reccomend booking for lunch.
The beer selection is great! We were surprised at how good the food was as well. The Kobe beef tacos are a must!!! As are the truffle perogies and the Blanche De chamblay mussels!
The interior is a bit outdated and the chairs aren't that comfy but the atmosphere ... Packed with constant flow of people made up for it.
Stumbled across beerbistro on Yelp. Read some reviews. Checked out their website. Used OpenTable to make a reservation. Beer list is outstanding. Server was knowledgable and pleasant. Food was wonderful. Will be back.
I tend to order beers that I have tried before but since they have tons in selections, why not try something new and different so I asked the server to 'surprise me'. He served me something I would never order but I love them all! You may wanna try this way, let them surprise you and have some fun! Cheers!
It would be helpful if staff wrote down ordered items rather than coming back to the table to ask once again what was ordered. It saves time for staff and eliminates errors.
A very good spot for a beer snob. Much to choose from with a solid menu to compliment the beers on tap. Definitely worth a visit.
Try the Belgian Frites. You haven't had fries until you have had these beauties that are fried in duck fat! Simply awesome.
What a great place to hang out with friends in an age appropriate environment with a very vibrant atmosphere. The food is great, tasty and plentiful. The beer list is to die for and tasty.
I made a reservation and we were seated quickly and efficiently. Our coats were taken, and hung and, at the end of the night we were assisted in putting them back on. A lovely gesture.
The people that come here are hip, good looking and fun!
We booked here as it was really the only choice at Yonge & King, in spite of the fact that I'm not a beer drinker.
If you ARE a beer drinker, this would be awesome - they have an unbelievable beer menu and very knowledgeable servers. The surprise was that the food is very good as well - all on a beer theme, but very tasty with a good selection and variety for different tastes.
They have a "bar" and "dining area" and my only criticism was that it was loud everywhere, but if you're looking for that kind of vibe, this would be a good choice.
I always enjoy the beer bistro. They have a great selection of beer and the food is amazing. My favourite are the frites and mussels. The ambiance is also nice. Good for group dinners.
This place was great before a leaf game. Tons of beer to choose from. I am not a big beer person but found a fruity beer which was really good. Prices are amazing for beer and food! There frites are a must for 6$! Great upscale bar feel but not pretentious...would go back!
I took my friend to the beerbistro for her birthday lunch and overall it was a pleasant experience. Service was excellent, food was good, and the atmosphere was lively enough, but quiet enough that you didn't have to speak over each other, or listen to other people's conversations. The only suggestion I would make is to not sit people at the small table next to the kitchen doors, especially when there's room elsewhere in the restaurant, as it's very distracting with the servers coming in and out all the time, and when you get up to put your coat on you run the risk of colliding with the kitchen doors and the servers, which almost happened. I also noticed that there was no rating for pricing at the top, but if I had to rate it I would give it a "2" for "Fair", as it's a bit pricey for what you get.
I would recommend this restaurant to others, and would go back for "special" occasions.
We had an early dinner; Beef Tacos to start, and the Steak Frites and Diablo Mussels for mains. Uniformly delicious. Fantastic beer selection, and the service was just right (friendly and attentive). This was my second time here, but first meal, and I will definitely return.
My wife and I had tickets to a concert in Toronto and were looking for a restaurant that was close to the hotel/theater that also had some gluten free options. We reviewed the menu and everything looked great. Reservations were openly available in the time slot I was looking for.
We were right on time for our reservation and were immediately seated. The restaurant is pretty small and is mostly a bar area. The wine selection was ok and they had an incredible selection of beer. We had the Belgian Frite to start and they were incredible. My wife had the Bistro Burger and I had the Chicken Curry and they were both excellent dishes.
The restaurant was MUCH louder than I expected it to be so if you are looking for a place to have a nice dinner conversation, this is not it. Even after dinner, we went to another bar for drinks as we couldn't hear each other very well.
Great staff. Friendly and always welcoming. I have been coming here for years and am never disappointed. They menu changes continue to keep things fresh. Great burger and pulled pork as menu staples. Diablo mussels never disappoint as well. Love the beer matching to the food. The bread and buns for the sandwiches & mussels are also very dangerous (in a good way)! Highly recommend the Beerbistro, and sitting at the chefs table is also a great experience.
Went for brunch before a matinee. The restaurant wasn't busy, but it took a couple of tries to get our order of frites. A senior waitress finally stepped in and not only took the frites off our bill, but presented me with a gift wrapped copy of their cookbook which I had said I wanted to buy. So, needless to say, I left extremely happy. The food was good, although my omelet was a bit runny for my taste - I love moist, but this was fairly runny. First time having brunch there and they have an interesting menu. The eggs benedict was quite good. The French toast was deemed a bit too sweet by one of my friends, but I didn't try it, so not sure - it looked delicious.
A first for me - the waitress asked us if we wanted to tweet that we had ordered the frites. I do love their frites, but nobody at the table were twitterers. I've been asked to contribute to Trip Advisor as we were leaving a restaurant, but this is the first social media request made during the meal. Not sure how others feel, but don't view this as a positive dining trend. Understand the importance of social media, but personally not a fan during my meal.
Love this place.
Beer Bistro is a gem. Rarely do you find a place that serves such unique beers and amazing food. You usually get one or the other. At Beer Bistro you are never disappointed!
Food is always spot on, service is a bit hurried but attentive. Great vibe from the open kitchen, just a little tight fitting between tables as it felt like our neighbors could reach over and share our meal.
Good spot for an informal business lunch or lunch with colleagues / friends
