New place, gave it a shot. Food was less then desirable, lacked flavor and very small. The cease salad “house made dressing”, I think was non-existent but was over the top on anchovies. When asked how everything was and discussed the above, no apology or mention of removing the salads ( not eaten). Plenty of “suits” walking around doing nothing, while the working staff busted their a””. Not one manager or even hostess asked us how the food was nor said have a good evening etc.. Won’t go back unless the menu/food is updated and there’s some attention to detail/customer. Don’t mind paying the cost but delivery and execution should be on point. Just my opinion

The view is stunning. The food is not the quality that you would expect for the price. The waitress was not very attentive. We had to get our own water and ask another waitress for items not brought to the table. Our waitress still received a large tip built into the bill.

I had a wonderful experience at Bee & Butter. The ambience was inviting and quiet, setting the perfect tone for an enjoyable meal. The service was impeccable, and while the food was beautifully presented, the portions were on the smaller side and a bit pricey. However, the quality of the dishes was undeniably impressive. I'm eager to return for another delightful dining experience.

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary with a nice dinner. The patio was okay, but the flower pots needed tending with their lack of foliage, and the tables could have used a vase. The service was good. I feel like the entrees should include a salad and some kind of bread for the price. I chose ravioli and lobster which arrived a bit cold, and had only about 7 ravioli for $36.00. My husband had a burger and chips. The chips serving was very small as well.

We were super excited to try the new place in town for our anniversary. Made reservations a few weeks ahead of time. Chose outdoor seating when I made the reservations. Showed up and was told they didn’t have any outdoor seating left and we’d have to be inside. Then why even give the option to choose if they’re not going to even honor that and give away your table to whoever and seat you wherever they want…… 🙄 Service was wonderful and quick. Food was excellent. However, we were very disappointed to receive such small portions. Especially when your paying $40ish an entree you would expect to at least be satisfied/full, not leave still hungry. Live music was nice but extremely loud. We sat directly beside each other just so we could talk and that was still hard to do. Glad we tried it and got it out of our systems but we will not be back.

Moderately good food but way too pricey. They describe this restaurant as Fine Dining, but the servers haven't been trained to serve correctly by placing food and drinks to the RIGHT of the person. Pre-plated food should be served from the right, beverages as well. Lovely ambience with a guitar player playing soft soothing music. Nicely decorated restaurant with several choices of where to sit.

I am pretty disappointed with this restaurant. I went here with my friends for a nice dinner (I had missed lunch that day and was looking forward to a good meal). I got the mezzaluna with lobster and the portion size was just about the size of an appetizer. It was okay. Still hungry after, I ordered the pineapple upside down cake and it was as dry as a slice of toast and I didn’t finish it. I told the waitress this as well. I would have thought they would have taken the cake off the bill, but they did not. This may be a high end restaurant, but I don’t think it’s run like one. I don’t normally eat at restaurants like this, but being a local, I wanted to try it out. Sitting outside was beautiful but I won’t be back for the food.

My son said the best steak he has every had. Food was incredible! Music was a little too loud to have a conversation. I am concerned that the menu is somewhat pretentious for most and u will lose out on clientele. I think the menus could add some young adult friendlier appetizers, shareables, and meals to bring in more of the college crowd next door so they can take their special someone out to the bar and nibble. You would not be lowering the quality by doing so. Drinks were fantastic!

The cornbread and crab cakes are delicious! We celebrated my boyfriend’s 24th birthday and had a wonderful time. Lauren is a great server and we felt well taken care of! I highly recommend making a reservation :)

The reviews were correct the portions are extremely small. The swordfish came out cold and all they did was microwave it and sent it back out. The wings were great. The steak was good also. The dessert the strawberry rhubarb was tasty but missing something. Probably won’t go back for awhile. The service was the best part.

I had the 18$ burger and it was the BEST BURGER IVE EVER HAD. Hands down would return 1000x to eat the same thing. Loved the outdoor seating and the design of the entire space. We will be returning many times in the future.

First time visit with our family of 5 encompassing 3 generations. The setting was really lovely - a warm evening, gentle breeze, beautiful view. We sat outdoors, and the roof provided shade but is high enough that the feeling was very open. Servers were friendly and efficient. Food was delicious. Portions were moderate - plenty big but unlikely that you will need to take any home with you. Good selection of beverages both with and without alcohol. Prices are high - but it's a nice location for a special occasion dinner. If you are on a stricter budget consider heading there for drinks or dessert - it is definitely worth a visit! Also a great place to bring your out of town visitors.

The views from the rooftop bar were great. The service was good and the food tasted good but nothing outstanding. The portions were way too small. We were still hungry after our meal. The price was way too high, especially for the size of the portions. We aren’t planning to dine there again.

Food was slightly expensive in our opinion but it was tasty and luckily enough the proportion was very nice, no too small and not too much. I have food restrictions and allergies so the waitress did a wonderful job making suggestions to help and checking with the chef that what I ordered was correct. The view was beautiful and it was a wonderful date night for me and my husband. We did enjoy cocktails, which were very yummy.

Delightful, southern-inflected meals and drinks. Very attentive staff. Beautiful setting, though the deck needed more protection from the sun, and the selection of sports on the TVs -- octagon matches from Las Vegas, no less -- detracted from the dining ambiance. It was pleasant to see how many customers dressed up a bit to make dinner feel a little more special for everyone. In every respect, Bee & Butter outshone the restaurant in the campus hotel down the road at Virginia Tech.

We were on the rooftop for July 4th fireworks and it was fabulous! We could see fireworks from Christiansburg, Blacksburg and Radford. The place was packed and only two servers were handling the crowd in a very friendly and professional manner. We LOVED the pimento cheese appetizer and smoked fish dip that we ordered. The wine selection was nice and we absolutely enjoyed our evening at The Highlander. We will go back again soon to spend time on their amazing patio - comfy variety of chairs, couches and barstools to enjoy the view.

Great meal tonight and excellent service! The Spring Vegetable Agnolotti was delicious and beautiful with tender pillowy pockets handmade pasta stuffed with fontina and just the perfect balance of fresh peas, crema an a sparkle of EVO. I ordered the Smoked Trout Dip and it was perfect for a hot summer day starter paired with a cool glass of Chardonnay.

Nice new facility with a million dollar view from the rooftop. Although the place wasn't full it took 75 minutes to get food. Water glasses were emptied at least 3 times and we had to ask for water. Food was excellent and deserts were fantastic.

The view was outstanding, but the music, combined with other patrons' conversations was so loud it was hard to hear each other speak. The food was good, but some of the portions were on the small side for the price. The menu descriptions could be better. The pork chop looked amazing (my friend reported it was delicious). I wished I ordered it but the description scared me away. Maybe add some photos? The appetizer dips didn't come with enough bread/chips to finish the dips. When we asked for more, there was no mention of a charge but on the bill, we were charged an extra $2 each. There was a special on wine that was confusing because the menu prices were incorrect. Overall it was a good experience. I recommend you ask for a more secluded table if you want to have a conversation.

Very good. Didn’t rush us at all and server was attentive and proactive. Provided us menus when we were deciding on several things throughout the meal (drinks and desserts). It was quiet even though we were right in front of open kitchen and by bar.
