Oh dear! We were staying at the hotel and having been previously thought we would book a rooftop table as weather was fine. Upon arrival we were greeted by a waitress who said "we are really busy so it may be 5-10 minutes before I can take your order". There were only about 10 people at the venue & two bar staff. After 15 mins she came & took our order. 25 mins after arrival we got our drinks. This member of staff constantly told customers they were so busy and the waiting times continued for drinks. There was maximum 15 customers throughout the time we were there. It wasn't relaxing watching her and her colleague flap around. The website advertises sharing boards but we were told they don't do them any longer. We booked the table thinking we would relax in the very lovely surroundings with food & drinks but it was shambolic to say the least. If the service is this bad with only a few tables occupied, I dread to think what it's like when busy!! Hotel Indigo's staff generally at the hotel are poorly trained and appear disinterested - it needs a good shake up before we go again.

I booked the table to celebrate my 40th birthday, I confirmed in the booking that it was my birthday. There was a long wait to be seated, we were then told just to sit anywhere and another couple were served before us even though we were clearly waiting. The cocktail menu was also very limited, although it was nice. Just not quite as special an experience as I was hoping for.

Booked for my birthday drinks catch up with family & friend last Friday afternoon at 2.45pm but had to wait until 3.30pm. When we arrived Beckett’s, there were staff meeting by bar area. So we had to sit outdoor area and waited for waitress to ask us for drinks. Then I had to go to bar to buy drinks, my family and friend came inside to sit as they were cold. But the manager at staff meeting says we not supposed to sit inside by bar area while they’re in meeting. It made us feel as customers not important and value. The staff meeting and training supposed to be other private room. It was little turn down my afternoon.

What a let down!! I first experienced the roof top bar when Hotel Indigo opened and it was a lovely place and had charm and class! It has lovely views and if it’s in the sun then yes it’s pleasurable. The sun was setting so we sat in the shade which was cooler! I revisited last weekend for my 50th birthday and it was dire! I reserved a seat and someone else sat in it, although the lady behind the bar asked them to move! No one really adheres to the reservation sign!! Massive que for cocktails but only a reduced amount could be made due to training of new staff!! Really on a Saturday night!! Waited 20 mins for a cocktail and if I wanted another one I’m sure as heck I’m not queuing up again! Totally crap to be honest, it has such potential but totally let down by lack of experienced staff, tables not cleared rubbish ok the floor! I wouldn’t go back! Please Hotel Indigo sort your hotel out! Not a classy place!

Have visited Beckett's on a number of occasions. When it first opened it was absolutely fantastic, lovely place, brilliant staff, and a good selection of drinks. A lovely place to relax and enjoy a nice drink in great surroundings. Overtime, however, it has gone downhill significantly. Visited again recently and was very disappointed. Very poor selection of drinks, unfriendly staff that clearly didn't want to be there, and the place was looking quite shabby. Such a shame that the standards couldn't be maintained.

Reserved a 9.30pm table for an 18th birthday for 6 people with family and we were all really excited about this “highly rated” rooftop bar in Exeter. Unfortunately, we arrived to an empty bar with no atmosphere and to be honest was disgusted with how dirty the place was. When I spoke to the bartender working, she explained very abruptly that they don’t reserve seats outside (so why give me the option online) and we should “just sit anywhere” and order at the bar. May I add she was the only person working in the whole place as her manager had to go “help” the restaurant, which was actually just as empty when we walked past. Feeling underwhelmed and let down, we left without purchasing anything and went else where. Not a great experience for such a special occasion.

We read the bad reviews but thought the pictures look great we will give it the benefit of doubt. We should have listened to the reviews, the location itself is great but the service was awful. We had booked a table but none were reserved, the queue for drinks was so long and took forever and everyone was complaining. They really need a new drinks/bar system or some extra staff and more than can make cocktails or don’t offer them! It has so much potential

A very disappointing experience, I’ve been before and the cocktails and staff were amazing, I booked a table for my best friend and I as it was her birthday as a surprise, we stood for over 15 mins before anyone acknowledged us and that was stood at the bar , the young lady that did couldn’t even smile at us told us to sit wherever, so we took a menu chose our drinks and I went back to the bar to order where I waited along with 2 other people for at least another 15 mins b4 a man behind the bar shouted next , I asked for a classic margarita and a coconut one , I watched him make them they were both exactly the same and tasted the same no coconut! Anyway £28 later they were completely un drinkable so sadly we left them and left the bar , we weren’t the only un happy customers up there , such a shame as super views from there and such a lovely place just let down by miserable rude staff who don’t make very good cocktails !! Will not be going back or ever recommending

The rooftop bar offers stunning views that make for a memorable setting. However, the service leaves much to be desired. Staff appeared disengaged and lacked the warmth and attentiveness expected in hospitality. With some training and a focus on customer care, this venue could truly shine.

There was no food being served only drinks as far as I could see Service was atrocious, empty glasses from previous people left for ages on our table Our reservation was not honoured, in fact someone was actually sat in our table We were told by bar person that reservations were not being done that evening despite me booking 1 several days ago, we were told to sit where you can Such a shame as it’s a lovely hotel and a great bar with a amazing view
