   The food and atmosphere were very good. The waiter was a nice guy, he just seemed depressed, like he really didn’t want to be at work. Frankly, we felt bad for him. Not sure if it was a personal matter or his work environment.

   For this caliber of restaurant ($50 lunch per person) we expected top notch service and what we got was a server that was course, with an untidy appearance and shuffled/ dragged his feet making a distracting sound whenever passing by. We initially had a pleasant server with professional appearance that took our orders and then a new server appeared stating to each table to be sure to ask him if we needed anything since he was training the other server, when actually she should have been training him! The food was mediocre nothing to stand out about it. We had to ask other servers for water and coffee refills. We were brought someone else’s bill soon after we ordered before food was brought and then again when through eating. The only thing that was exceptional was the seating, outside on a beautiful day. We are locals and have visited many times and were surprised at how things have slipped here. Other thing of note, there was a head hostess and 2 assistants standing at attention at the entrance, while all 3 were very professional and cordial, there was a napkin or paper dropped on the floor right in front of all 3 and rather than pick it up they all walked around it for the 10 mins we waited to be seated. Strange! Overall I would say save a few dollars and go to Aldo’s! We will be from now on!

   Our initial experience was the apathetic valet who did not permit us to drive our 97 year old mother to the entrance. Once there, our table for 3 was not ready so we waited 10 minutes and then were seated across from the bar on the main path. I had requested “Please seat us in a quiet area as our mother is 97 and hearing impaired.” They confirmed they received the message in the reservation but they were very busy today. Our waitress took our drink orders and then we waited for 23 minutes for our drinks. The Bloody Mary supreme was excellent. We received our brunch orders 49 minutes after we sat down. Our eggs were perfect, the bacon was excellent, the grits were nicely prepared. My egg and bacon croissant was slathered in mayo and I put the soggy croissant to the side. I did not realize they put mayo on eggs. A Becca’s gentleman walking by noticed and asked me if my meal was ok. He promptly ordered a fresh toasted croissant delivered to my table a few minutes later by our waitress who, again, didnt speak with us. When we left, we ended up standing outside for 14 minutes waiting for a valet to bring our car. He was not concerned about the delay and did not open doors or assist the 97 year old woman nor the 70 year old lady. Although all 3 meals were very good, and the place was lovely, for $140 food, $ tips, $8 valet, and unacceptable delays I would not recommend Becca’s unless you don’t mind inattentive service and lengthy delays. Again, food was great and the gentleman who saved my meal was considerate and attentive, but it just isn’t enough to make it worth a recommendation.

   Tonight was way off for the standards I have come to expect from BECCA. Three of the menu items were out of stock, the Rockfish had a substitute, the porkchop and the lamb were also unavailable. My entree was to have been served over cous cous, also out and was substituted with a generous portion of mixed vegetables However the entrees we ordered were very good.

   Service was slow and spotty. I’m not sure if due to understaffing or slow kitchen or just not caring. Our waitperson forgot an item we ordered, food was really slow, and attention was spotty throughout the meal. I just had the impression she would have rathered be anywhere else.

   Was extremely loud,hard to hear my Wife next to me.Seating arrangements very close to other diner's.Table and plate to small, Food very good.When we went to leave the valet guys informed us that it was $6,and we could add more money to tip the valet,ha.So it cost us $11 to leave, and then we were blocked by other cars.I won't be going back.

   Our waitress was very helpful in explaining the different choices on the menu. My husband was delighted as she left a pot of hot coffee for his use, which lasted him the entire meal. He raves about the Becca burger—one of the best in Virginia Beach. The spice cake was outstanding!

   Once again I have tried the crab cake and have found it to be very different from the lump crab recipe used in the past. I was in hope that it may have been improved but it has not. In the future I will not recommend it to my guests or order it for myself. The crab soup is lovely and Oysters Becca were impressive, but not to the Chef, go easy on the breadcrumbs in the top.
