Beauty & Essex- New York
The atmosphere of the space is both grand and intimate, moody and effervescent. Various rooms for lounging and dining unfold on two floors, like a large turn-of-the-century townhouse. Each room has its own unique elements that celebrate timeless jewelry designs and upscale jewelry stores.
The cuisine is multi-ethnic in inspiration, casually elegant, and designed for sharing at the table among friends and family. Where the Stanton Social"s menu is Chef Chris Santos' take on cocktail party classics and street foods from across the globe, Beauty & Essex is rooted in a bold bistro direction focusing on the reinvention of modern family style dining that is both whimsical and sophisticated.

Celebrated my 6 year anniversary here. Our waitress Ali was so sweet and accommodated. The food was delicious and came out quickly. I recommend the pink panther as a drink.
I heard rave reviews so I took my employees for dinner. Everyone enjoyed the meal and the service! This was the highlight of our weekend!
Had such a great time! The food, service and the outmoded was amazing!
As always amazing!
Went here for our anniversary and made reservation for 6PM— little did I know what “club” beauty and Essex was going to be releasing HUNDREDS of intoxicated people at the time my reservation started. I was being pushed and herded like I was cattle. It was by far the worst experience I have ever had. The staff had zero control of the people! I had to leave because I couldn’t give my business to them. Word of advice, end the club an hour before you accept reservations
Everything was awesome! Only complaint is that the music is a bit too loud. Makes it difficult to chat during dinner.
Love this place I’ve been coming here for the past 5 years. The food is always good and the ambiance is amazing.
Me and my girls had a fabulous time for my sister’s bachelorette!
Always great place to dine and hang with friends, will def be back
Took a friend in from Singapore and he loved it!
Great ambiance incredible food!
Everything was great!
Great food and service. Our waiter recommended 5 dishes to share for 3 people. We added vegetables and a salad to round it out. Everyone was happy and the food was great.
The place is beautiful, but extremely noisy- the sound system wasn’t working so we had 20 minutes of full noise. Very expensive for what you eat. Nice but not awesome
So much fun this is the place for a nice upscale dinner and the bar is second to none
This is a very scene-y restaurant and the noise level is high, but the food was wonderful. I'd highly recommend the tomato soup dumplings, pastrami carpaccio, bulgogi tacos, thai shrimp, empanadas and garganelli. Skip the dessert Wonder Wheel. It looks cool but the quality of the stuff in it was disappointing. The highlight were the donuts.
The service and food were good.
The tables are way too close together and the noise level was obnoxious. You can not have a normal conversation with your table.
Prob won’t be back.
Ambiance was fantastic, food was mediocre
Amazing food and atmosphere
The bar was overcroweded, I had a reservation and table was not available and took me 30 minutes to finally get some drinks.
Limited menu.. The DJ was awesome!
Romantic feel, candle lit and great service with great food. No complaints!
Amazing just amazing
This place is worth a visit for a lovely dinner experience, make sure to book in advance though! Trendy spot, can be very busy when you first arrive. We had a table booked for 7:45pm which was perfect, it gets much busier around 9pm. The food is really good, tapas style but was brought out in just the right amounts so as not to rush us. The drinks for us were not amazing, but good. This would not turn me off returning as the food is worth it!
2nd time visiting Beauty and Essex, but my 1st for the Manhattan location. Whether you're in Vegas or in the City Beauty and Essex doesn't disappoint. Vibe was definitely something that didn't go unnoticed, from the 80s and 90s type music, spacious, beautiful venue. Food and drinks were price worthy. $100 dinner for two, I'm okay with that.
Tuna and salmon were flavorless. Kale salad was the most flavorful part of the meal.
Cordial service, nice ambiance. The food was okay.
Such a pretty place and great food. Waitress told us that 2-3 appetizers would be more than enough for two people but it wasn’t enough and we were still hungry after our meal.
Snazzy venue, with tasty food options and drinks. The former surprisingly reasonable for the type of venue, the latter in line with expectations
Enjoyed the soup dumplings, a must have, the steaks tacos, and the Merchant cocktail.
Tasty but not exceptional, the empanadas, fish tacos, meatballs. Less impressive the shishito peppers
Always a great meal and with fantastic service! This is one of my most favorite places to eat!
Was an amazing ambiance, we ordered the beef tacos which were excellent and ordered the Mac & cheese, tuna, chicken meatballs which those items were fine but lacked the pizazz it needed. But overall it was good experience.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Have been several times and will go again
The Food and Ambiance are just amazing. Will definitely be back.
The waiter never check on us to see if we needed anything, or more drinks. I ask him for some paper napkins he never brought them. My plate that they brought out was dirty, the waiter never put my check in a presentation folder but the people next to us he did. He gave me my check and the immediately gave them theirs. Hmm!
Great atmosphere and even better food!!
the food was ahhhmazing. very delicious. the drinks were great as well, but very pricey. the restaurant in general was a little pricey for the amount of food you get but overall it was a great experience. the ambiance is so nice. the restaurant felt cramped and loud, but nothing that ruined my experience. would definitely go back.
Never disappoints! Food was excellent. Atmosphere and cocktails. Do go. I will always return
Be slow to order your plates if you aren't in a hurry. We ordered 5 sharing plates at once and they were out in 5 minutes, even though they say that the kitchen will stagger the orders. We had to eat very, very slowly or it would have been a quite expensive 30 minute dinner. Also, the air conditioner was blowing straight down on us and the food, which made it go cold sooner. We did not complain or mention it, so I didn't hold the server accountable. But other than that, it was a great experience and delicious food and I will certainly go back when I'm in NYC.
I came here for my girlfriend’s birthday and we both had an amazing time! You get what you pay for and everything was seamless from start to finish.
Love the ambiance and the tapas menu. Our server made some great recommendations and everything we tried was delicious.
Worst brunch ever. I rarely feel compelled to write reviews, but I felt so ripped off after eating at this overrated corporate box that I want to warn others. How is it possible to make a dish containing chorizo, jalapeno and cheese with absolutely no flavor? How can you screw up pizza? (Hint: call it a pizzette, and put eggplant slices on it that have been, fried, refried, and refried again so that they are unrecognizable as anything but a fried circle of breadcrumbs, then dump tons of flavourless cheese on top.) The only decent dish was the Lox platter, but it doesn't even compare to Katz's version a few doors away. The waiters will tell you to order "3 or 4" dishes for two people. That's too much food, unless you can't finish it because it's disgusting, which is what happened to us. I hate wasting food, but I did.
