The only outdoor restaurant we’ve ever visited with no heaters in the evening. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and were charged for a bottle. Onion soup was not good. First time I’ve ever not finished it as an appetizer. Food was ok, but got cold very quickly in 50 degree weather. Not a great place to recommend.
Great food, speedy service.
I have s always loved this place but have never been for dinner. Dinner was fine but lunches and breakfast have always been amazing. The service was great but the wines by the glass were super-limited and while other than the mussels, the food was very good but the mussels were worse than I can do at home, way over-cooked and shriveled.
The osso bucco was incredible.
Super cute place and the food was pretty good but the service was awful.
Food was disappointing.
The food just isn’t that great. Everything else is wonderful.
Food was fine although bouillabaisse was way too salty. Bison pasta was delicious, seared tuna salad with stir fry and rice good. Regular salad was undifferentiated and boring. All in all food thats too salty, almost ineatable for that price a deal breaker even though ambiance and setting is very nice. Don’t need to come back.
The food is great…just be prepared to wait an extraordinary amount of time for it to arrive. Our first course of French Onion soup arrived 50 minutes after ordering. Portions were small for the price. Food is tasty and presented well, but the service needs help.
The food was excellent, especially the pasta special and the bison bolognese. Dessert was excellent also..
We were surprised having eaten here in the past and enjoying lunch which was creative and tasty.
Dinner was unremarkable.. onion soup- bouillabaisse and salad were ordinary with little favoring .
Skip for dinner . La host aria and Clarke’s bouillabaisse is 100 x better
The waiter was not well trained. He was also probably stoned.
Pasta is cheap yet pasta portions were small. The pasta bolognese bison at $38 was watery. They did not drain the pasta adequately. Salads were ok ordinary as well as onion soup. Aperol Spritz we’re good
Food was very good, especially the very unique salad. Out door tables are lovely with the big umbrellas, but some heaters and/or lap blankets would be a big improvement.
The restaurant was very accommodating when we changed our reservation. Julia was an excellent server. The drinks are well made and the food is very good. Cauliflower soup is a must! We were disappointed that they had run out of curry and it was only 7pm. They had something for everyone.
Honestly hate to report that while the service, ambience, vibe were great.... and so was my cocktail, the food was disappointing. My wife had Stir Fry Piccante and I had Braised Guancette. As always when food is disappointing, you wonder if you ordered badly, and there may well be better items on the menu. But the Stir Fry was lacking in zippy flavor and the guancette hit one savory note at first bite, it didn't wear well. It was very gummy, the heavy sauce paired with equally heavy pappardelle. The dessert -- panna cotta -- was good!
Outstanding place! Been coming to Aspen for years and have never been here. Excellent food, very chill setting. Service was awesome, the perfect combination of attentive without being overbearing.Highly recommend this restaurant!!
We love the bear den! So cozy and delicious
Great spot inside or outside people-watching. Delicious food and intimate ambiance. Nice date place.
Really creative tasty dishes. Incredible cocktails and just the right blend of scene without squish! We loved it
We were there for over an hour - never got service never got a menu.
We had a lovely dinner, great selection for all the palates that encompass our family.
Only place is aspen you can get a cortado! Also delish food and super cute vibe :)
The food was good but not worth the price at all. Limited menu , small portions . Nice ambiance.
A lovely, intimate Aspen restaurant that serves delicious pastries and breakfast items, through excellent dinner options, appetizers and wine/cocktails. The service was superb. Quiet, not glitzy or pretentious. Will be back!
As usual, everything was great. Best coffee shop/restaurant in Colorado.
Food was delightful and they were accommodating to diet . Service is also excellent
Amazing cocktails and apps in a super cute cottage setting! Perfect for apres!
Food is great but the service is slow and the drinks are not worth the price. Much better cocktail options around bear den. Ambiance is also lacking. Super quiet and weird music. Service was slow despite not a ton of people there. Recommend for takeout or if you are here for a bit and are looking for another good option.
small but concise menu, rotates at the time of day. Cocktails and wine list available. Excellent light/mood/ambiance for the inside, and cozy settings on the outside. Waitstaff is professional. Pastries/baked goods are fresh from the kitchen, and breakfast is full of flavor, good-med sized portions, as well as the other meals. Really love the feel of the place, and flavor of the food overall. price is appropriate to similar restaurants of the area.
This is one of our favorite! Adorable inside and out. Food and service is wonderful. The pasta is so good!
Amazing restaurant. The food was incredible and the staff was great. 10/10 would recommend.
Super cute place with a. Lovey menu and delicious food
The brunch meals are amazing!
Bear Den is quiet and quaint. Counter, dine-in, and outside dining are available. Reservations are needed for seated service. Menu offers quite a bit from light pastry bites to full breakfast/brunch options. The Bloody Mary was delicious--the dill in the mix was exceptional and perfect change of pace. Heads up: service is slow so best not to be in a hurry.
We had heard about this place last time we were in Aspen. We never got a chance tinted it. This time we drove in for the day and luckily, with all of the Covid restrictions, we were able to grab a table for brunch. Two of us had the sashimi tuna stir fry. AMAZING! And one of us had the version of a breakfast burrito. Also delicious. We asked for bread and butter and it too was delicious. Not sure what they put in the butter. So good!!
I ordered a meal with lots of veggies and noodles. There were no vegetable mentioned on the menu on my plate or hardly any veggies at all. Noodles were a cold gelatinous clump. Very small portion. My partner's meal was as described and pretty tasty but very small. The bloody mary's were pretty good. They call themselves a bakery but there was no baked good in site. Nice location and we got a sweet table. Not worth the time or the money. Sorry.
