Beach House Restaurant- Kauai
Our philosophy at the Beach House is simple - take some good old-fashioned Hawaiian hospitality, blend it with a Pacific Rim food experience and add an outstanding view to deliver an experience that delights all the senses. Our talented kitchen team makes the most of local ingredients by sourcing our fish directly from Island fisherman and our beef and coffee from neighboring ranches. We incorporate local fruits and vegetables whenever possible, and delight in being able to find new and innovative ways to use the resources that surround us on the Garden Isle. Our breads, buns, and desserts are all made from scratch in house and we proudly feature the works of renowned local artists throughout the restaurant.
Wasabi-Buttered Fresh Island Fish
fresh catch, lilikoi lemongrass beurre blanc, bok choy & lawai oyster mushrooms, cilantro sesame rice
Lobster Deviled Eggs
fresh lobster, farm fresh eggs, dill, lime
fresh fish, kaua'i shrimp, local grape tomatoes, roasted garlic, sundried tomato white wine butter, fresh basil chiffonade
Everything was fabulous.
The least I expect from a restaurant of this caliber and this price range is that it honors its reservations and that it has paper towels in the men’s room. The Beavh House failed both criteria last night when we attended. We were told when we checked in for our 8.15 PM dinner reservation that they were running about ten minutes late. There were two other couples sitting in the same waiting area who were awaiting being seated. Ten minutes turned into forty hours. That’s very bad in my book.
Worse yet. I went to use the men’s room, and after I washed my hands I searched for some paper towels. Two dispensers were empty. I’m fact, the only paper towels I could find were the used ones that were thrown on the floor. You’d think the manager would check on the bathrooms regularly.
After we were finally seated after 45 minutes, we ordered from a really small menu. I asked our waiter about the lack of selection, and he indicated that the kitchen is understaffed and can’t fulfill a more robust menu.
We ordered the filet mignon with a blue cheese sauce, mashed potatoes and broccoli. The mignon was perfected prepared, as were the potatoes, The broccoli was practically raw and inedible. The waiter apologized for that, but I couldn’t believe we were the only ones who had complained.
We ordered a chocolate tart and asked the waiter to split it for us. It arrived intact on one plate with no knife to split it. It was delicious though.
To the bill, there’s a 2% surcharge added, which I think is tacky in a high class restaurant such as this.
Racous atmosphere are people are a bit tipsy drinking from the excellent bar waiting for their table to open up
Incredibly fun spot to enjoy dinner, cocktail or both! The location on the ocean with sunset views can’t be beat. Creative cocktail menu. Food is good but nothing outstanding.
The Beach House is our only "must do" every time we visit Kauai.
Wonderful service, great view and phenomenal food! A must go to restaurant!
Food was best we have had on the island, fantastic
The Beach House has an absolutely stunning location and the ambiance of the restaurant is lovely as well. Our service was excellent. The food was so so at a top price. I know it’s a tourist trap but still very happy overall. Don’t skip out on the Mai tais while there either!
Great food. Good service. Gorgeous view.
My food was just ok. I had a salad and deviled eggs. Should have ordered the fresh fish. Not impressed.
Noisy. Food was ok but expensive. Very crowded.
Delicious and oh my the views!! The mai tais are to die for.
Mark our server was excellent!!!
Food and atmosphere are awsome. The open air feel is great with nice views . The appetizers are a great way to start.
Excellent service, delicious food, and every table has a view of the ocean. Make reservations just before sunset to watch all the parrots fly in.
The only reservation that we could get was at 8:30 and it was completely dark. Perhaps the food and the only Beyonce would have had a different impact if it had been light outside
Unreal views, food options are limited but everything on Menu is amazing!
The food was amazing. Seafood and steak.. sublime.. thanks you for a wonderful Anniversary
This place seems drastically overrated. The view was outstanding, the food was mediocre and the service was dismal. We had a gorgeous view from our table, right at the windows, which were opened, however there were dozens of people taking photos on the lawn right in front of us, so the would-be view was obstructed. The food was drastically overpriced for the quality. I had the beets. It was $31 for a plate of vegetables, which would be fine if there was any effort put into it. There was no seasoning, so it was disappointingly bland. I easily could do better in the tiny kitchen in our rental unit. Our server was almost non-existent. Long wait to get drinks. Tried to order a second round but our server was nowhere to be found. Tried to order drinks from someone who refilled our water and they didn't know what to do. So we had to flag down our server.
My daughter didn't care for her entree. Don't blamer her, it was terrible. We tried to flag down our server to get her something else, but he was MIA. Someone else cleared our plates. We told her that our daughter didn't care for her food. She had only taken two bites. The person who cleared it say "oh, sorry about that." That was it. We were going to get dessert, but we couldn't find our server, so we decided to go elsewhere for dessert.
We paid the tab. On our way out, I let the hostess station know how terrible the service was. She shrugged and said "sorry." No one working there seemed to care at all about delivering a quality experience. It's not a cheap place. I could handle the prices with mediocre food if the service was quality, but the food was poor and service terrible, so you're really just paying a substantial premium for the view, which was obstructed by dozens of people snapping pictures. My POV: Skip The Beach House!
We highly recommend this place for freshly caught fish and kauai beef. Best mai tai! Location is perfect too.
Wonderful place to share a special time! Staff were all attentive and fun and the food was great!! Drinks too !!
Gorgeous view, great food, excellent server. Had the lobster tail. It was delicious.
Very nice. Sarah was amazing!
We did not have a great table in a restaurant where they have so many tables with gorgeous ocean views
I made an early reservation for 6 of us, and when they walked us Out to the far corner of the patio away from the ocean I was quiet about it as our guests just arrived on the island after a long day of travel and I didn’t want to cause any issues
Service was great
But the food was not wonderful
Lobster deviled eggs were runny/ watery
Goat cheese salad was over dressed
Lobster tail comes with no sides
They brought a bread plate with mashed potatoes
Just such a lack of effort...
Our food came out super fast. We ordered and five minutes later it was on the table. Too fast for us. If we would have know that would have waited 15 minutes before ordering
Great food, service and view.
Service was great and everyone felt it was their best meal on the island during our trip
Absolutely gorgeous location and space. Food was first rate as was the service. Even if you can’t get a reservation, you can have drinks on the lawn in front of the restaurant on the water.
Service was slow. The place felt like a tourist trap. Ambience was poor
wow! incredible everything. a must. best fish dish I have ever had. ambiance was amazing
Fantastic place to eat. We booked reservations late so we got one of the 3:45pm slots but was not disappointed. The server was very kind and the fish was incredible. Highly recommend. My husband and I had drinks/entree (no appetizer or dessert) and were there about an hour and 15.
Fantastic fish. Cooked perfectly. Great service from Dave.
Always a favorite when we are on the island !!
Visiting Kauai, not impressed with food, dry fish, and view wasn’t that good.
Once we were seated, the experience was very enjoyable - beautiful scenery and a fun atmosphere. Additionally the server was very helpful and friendly.
The initial check-in was not as great. There were three young ladies who were more busy chatting among themselves than helping the guests. And when we asked for one of the several available tables in the main area (which we had requested months ago), we were told they weren’t available to us because there were three of us and the tables seated four - never mind that they were seating us at a four person table in the back of the restaurant. When we requested a different table, we were told it was probably too hot for us. And when we politely indicated that we were willing to take that risk, we had two of them randomly come to us to say on our way to our table (fifteen minutes later) that we would be really hot. Very strange. And it was not hot. For whatever reason, they clearly didn’t want to sit us at a table in the main area despite several openings and that really soured the experience for us.
We would recommend to a friend but only because of the beautiful location. The food was good but our shadowed by the seemingly petty hosts.
Great views. Terrific service. Would recommend just to watch the sunset
It was our 5yr anniversary and we had just renewed our wedding vows. This could not have been a better place to finish the celebration. Romantic, quiet, awesome service and the best food on the island. We are foodies and have eaten at MANY fine dining restaurants and the filet was the best I’ve ever had! Kudos to the chef!!!
Best view on Kauai
Great location and great food - ahi taco’s were delicious
