Beach House Restaurant- Kauai
Our philosophy at the Beach House is simple - take some good old-fashioned Hawaiian hospitality, blend it with a Pacific Rim food experience and add an outstanding view to deliver an experience that delights all the senses. Our talented kitchen team makes the most of local ingredients by sourcing our fish directly from Island fisherman and our beef and coffee from neighboring ranches. We incorporate local fruits and vegetables whenever possible, and delight in being able to find new and innovative ways to use the resources that surround us on the Garden Isle. Our breads, buns, and desserts are all made from scratch in house and we proudly feature the works of renowned local artists throughout the restaurant.
Great dinner for our 49th anniversary
Awesome staff and amazing food. Hats off to the chef!
Amazing good! Our server Joshua was so great. He made the experience perfect! Very helpful and personable.
World class view and service by a true professional, in a lovely seaside setting. My guests loved their dishes and the attention to detail and knowledge by server was perfect. Cocktails were spot on, and of course the ever present ocean really sets the tone.
My wife and I went out to dinner and it was nothing short of fantastic! The food, the view, the atmosphere and the service are excellent. Cole was our server, he was friendly and also knowledgeable of the food and alcohol on the menu. Would go back again!
Food was excellent. Unfortunately it was a very hot evening and no getting away from the heat.
As soon as we arrived, every need was met! There was 14 of us and our table was ready early! We were invited to enjoy the beautiful surroundings on the rear lawn overlooking the ocean, were seated and informed of the fresh fish of the day and all specials. We were served well, always kept full of water, bread and butter, and were nursed into having a wonderful experience! The food was succulent and delicious! Service impeccable! We recommend The Beach House Restaurant to anyone and everyone!
Not exaggerating when I say this was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. From start to finish, everything was incredible. 5/5 will eat here again when I come back to Kauai.
We had an amazing time at Beach House! We were able to enjoy delicious cocktails, an appetizer, and our fabulous entrees all while watching a gorgeous sunset and surfers, right from our table!
Food was good as always, however very disappointed with our table. We made reservations 2 months in advance for celebrating a birthday. The birthday was noted on the reservation as well as a request for a table by the window. We arrived 45 minutes early and had a drink in The bar. When it came time to be seated for dinner we were seated in a booth a row up from the window/sliding doors. There were other people that came in without reservations and were seated by the open windows/doors. It was very upsetting and put a damper on the evening.
Great view of the ocean but very crowded. Appetizer and dinner entrees were pretty good but not outstanding for the cost of each dish. Dessert was my least favorite. They only served a variety of pies which were no better than Boston Square.
The food and service are excellent. The fish entrees are always tasty and are generous portions. The waiter was very attentive and friendly. Of course the sunset view is fantastic, along with the view of the local surfers. A special restaurant for sure.
Incredible food; fantastic scenery right on the ocean at sunset. Great place; don't miss it!!
We are in Kauai to celebrate our 50th anniversary. Our waiter, Caleb, was very attentive and made a big fuss over us. He insisted on taking our picture as well as treating us to dessert. We both had variations of the "catch of the day " and they were excellent.
We were seated quickly. Very nice setting. Service was outstanding. Enjoyed our dinner and sunset
We were there for our 32nd wedding anniversary. I noted that when I made the reservation. The hostess congratulated us when we checked in, but our waiter was border line rude and inattentive. He ignored my wife when she mentioned our anniversary to him. Our meal with a bottle of nice wine was over $200 and what start as a special occasion ended as a disappointment. Will probably not return.
We loved the view, sitting outside to see the sunset, but when we were seated and looked over the menu, it was so expensive and we brought our own wine which was $25 per bottle for corkage. I had a fish dish which was $46. No shrimp or calamari on the appetizer menu, all the dishes seemed to have the same theme of bok choy, and the dessert they served to my daughter for her birthday was coconut cream, which was partially frozen. We have been here several times and this was very disappointing. Will probably not come back for dinner.
Very disappointing. Reserved long in advance for a 10th anniversary celebration with my husband. Arrived to get seated in the back of the extremely noisy dining room, with service that felt more like McDonald's than a reputed fine dining establishment--very rushed and impersonal. This place is not for you if you're in search of a special, romantic evening in a refined environment. Totally overhyped, overrated and overpriced. We left after the appetizer to have a wonderfully romantic and high quality experience at Plantation Garden, not far up the street. Too many other fine places to experience in Kauai to waste your time here.
Spectacular sunset views. Food and service excellent !
We heard many good things about this restaurant and decided to give it a try when we got off the cruise ship. It definitely didn’t disappoint. The view and the food were spectacular. Make sure to be there when the sunsets as it was breathtaking. Our server was Edwin and he was absolutely the best! Even came outside with us at sunset and took pictures of us! If you have the opportunity to go here don’t miss it!
Amazing experience. Went there for our anniversary. Such a great view, excellent service and food.
Our server was magnificent, friendly, kind, attentive, and happy to share information about his home in France when I asked. Thank you!
There’s really no need to mention the setting, right? Unparalleled! It was our destination for celebrating our December wedding anniversary many times. Sadly, my husband died last December. It was bittersweet to return without him, but I’m grateful for the memories and new experiences. See you in December
Food was great! Or server, Pops is an old pro and was outstanding!
Just got married
Great location and awesome food!
Everyone was very relaxed, kind & friendly from valet, hostesses to our server Joshua who was a fantastic server. Great open space. Fantastic for viewing the sunset.
Visiting from San Francisco, picky when it comes to food. And we loved the beach house! Plenty of great tables to watch the sunset, get there at least 45-60 minutes before to get a good table, if you can. Food was delicious (had ravioli, the goat cheese salad and my husband had lobster), but service was even better. “Pops” has the most delightful, calm energy and even shared a little bit of local trivia. Never rushed us, made good food recos. Sit in his section if you can! Solid drink menu... not the best value, but thats to be expected I guess, in a tourist hot spot with a sunset view. Favorite meal in the south shore. Pro tip: if you don’t want to spend the $$ on dinner, you can get a drink and sit on the lawn out front to enjoy the same view.
This was a very wonderful experience. The food was excellent and our waiter was great. The view was spectacular. The whole place is open and we had a problem with flys, but I guess that would be expected with it all open. The view of the sun set was beautiful.
Great location and view. Noisy, crowded and rushed. The location and view is the draw and they know it. Food was mediocre for the price you pay. Cesar salad was bland and the pot stickers were no better than what you buy in the frozen food section of the supermarket. The pork loin was superb however We had a reservation but we’re seated 15 minutes late . We felt rushed as if they wanted to hurry us and turn the table over quickly. The place was packed though and very loud to the point we had a hard time conversing. Probably won’t go back.
Drinks on the lawn out front before our reservation watching the surfers and the beachfront. Sunset dinner reservation to celebrate my 50th and our son’s 11th birthdays. The cocktails were phenomenal, appetizers and entrees were delicious. Homemade pie for dessert. Our waitress took our pictures with the sunset behind us. We had a great view of the sunset from our table. The staff gave both me and my son birthday cards. It was a fantastic night!
Dinner was amazing! Joshua was an outstanding, professional & a very knowledgeable server! My filet was the best so tender. Paul The Manager on duty was also very personable and checked in with us routinely to ensure we had a fabulous evening!
Even though I booked 2 months in advance our table was mediocre. When the sun went down the lighting was too bright and even though they said they were going to turn it down never did.
Our food server had zero personality.
Good food in a brilliant sunset setting with excellent service!
Beautiful sunset views. Started with a very good Mai Tai, probably the best we’ve had on the island. Our entrees were all very good as well as the desserts. The wait staff were very accommodating and we never felt rushed. Very expensive but we enjoyed ourselves and will be back!
Most places that have a view , the food suffers. But this restaurant had both! Delicious!
We just had our wedding night dinner here! We got engaged out on the lawn in Feb and had to come back with our family to celebrate our wedding. Service was excellent, they even threw in some bubbly to toast! Every meal was wonderful, but I especially recommend the furikake crusted ahi. We will be back next time we are on Kauai!
Server was very good with my wife’s allergy. The booth kind of smelled though. Sunset was beautiful.
The Beach House Restaurant was not only the best view but their food was delicious and the service was great. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want a perfect sunset view right near the beach and their grassy area is perfect for sitting and talking and taking pictures.
Everything was great except that we were sat on the patio next to a wedding reception, which was incredibly loud. Not what you expect when going to a nice restaurant on the beach. We were not offered an opportunity to switch tables until our dinner was over, and spent the evening yell talking just to hear each other. In the future they should shut the patio off if they are hosting big events such as a wedding reception.
Great meal service & food with best sunset on island! Only issue: bar service...not sure why bartender unwilling to provide non-alcoholic cocktail option in a champagne glass so my wife and I could toast our 40th anniversary...disappointing
