Beach House Restaurant- Kauai
Our philosophy at the Beach House is simple - take some good old-fashioned Hawaiian hospitality, blend it with a Pacific Rim food experience and add an outstanding view to deliver an experience that delights all the senses. Our talented kitchen team makes the most of local ingredients by sourcing our fish directly from Island fisherman and our beef and coffee from neighboring ranches. We incorporate local fruits and vegetables whenever possible, and delight in being able to find new and innovative ways to use the resources that surround us on the Garden Isle. Our breads, buns, and desserts are all made from scratch in house and we proudly feature the works of renowned local artists throughout the restaurant.
fresh fish, kaua'i shrimp, local grape tomatoes, roasted garlic, sundried tomato white wine butter, fresh basil chiffonade
center-cut angus beef filet, maytag blue cheese & bacon butter, yukon gold mashed potatoes, local grilled broccoli, port wine demi-glace
Lobster Deviled Eggs
fresh lobster, farm fresh eggs, dill, lime
Very small dinner menu and only 2 dessert options. Noisy and crowded. Had to wait 20 min past reservation time.
This is a very typical large restaurant group tourist establishment. Service was not professional for price level. Ambiance is lacking for location. Tired facility in need of major upgrade / facelift. Food was of a quality you would expect at a much lesser price and equal to what what be served at a wedding or business convention. Not impressed at all after reviews posted.
Yes, the views are amazing but not from all tables. Our service was excellent at the bar and our table . I felt it was very pricey for rice, mediocre veggies and a piece of fish, $46. However, fish is getting very expensive and the fish was cooked nicely .the rest of the plate was disappointing. Mai tai was very good. They were out of the coconut creme brulee for desert. The decor in the restaurant is a bit tired.
Gave us a nice cookie w candle for my daughters birthday.
The only thing good about this restaurant is the view. We came for our anniversary and it took 15 min for our server to even come over, left water and then didn’t come back for another 10 min. He brought us the bread and butter after we already had our app, salad and meal that we ordered at the same time. Won’t be coming back for a meal.
Beautiful setting with good food and service!
Seated 30 minutes after our reservation time. Not cool.
Absolutely gorgeous view and location. Right on the ocean. Our waiter Adam was great. Very attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance set the mood. The food waS delicious and the drinks were “spicy”. This place is a must!
Location and view are amazing . The drinks were very good. Food was awesome. Great service and a great experience. Highly recommended
Birthday celebration was great! Signature mai tais & dinner we’re fantastic ! Evening sunset a 10!!
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Limited menus but each dish exquisitely prepared. Highly recommended
First off when you arrive and we forgot 1 mask they forced us to buy a mask to walk 50 ft to our table. The server was extremely rude, threw our check at us and we had to remind him what the fish was for the day. 4 people got the seafood linguini and was absolutely horrible. No one ate it. The mahi was not fresh and was frozen. They serve you like you are a catering restaurant. They added an automatic 20 percent tip and 10 percent to food staff. Would never ever go again.
A very nice place to have my birthday and first trip to Hawaii. The staff and our waiter gave Five Stars
Pupus especially ahi we’re great, proteins well cooked some outstanding. Rice was gross, sticky and tasteless as were veggies minimal salt used. Very good wine list with personable sommelier who will not steer you wrong. Sides torpedoed an excellent rating as they were so poorly executed
Wait was too long after the reservation time - 30 minutes
My husband and I treated our adult daughters and sons-in-law and 2yo granddaughter to dinner during our Kauai vacation. Our waiter was outstanding and his graciousness was evident during our entire meal. Everyone raved about their meal except for my husband and me. We had chosen the macadamia nut mahi-mahi which was delicious, but was served a cilantro rice side. The rice was dry and cilantro is not a favorite flavor for us - as well as many others. Because of the size of our party we we seated in the back, therefore not really able to enjoy the ambiance of the ocean view.
Our server Kevin was fantastic!! Very knowledgeable and attentive.
A birthday dinner with a gorgeous view and excellent service!
Excellent service and food
Ono was dry and overdone, but ahi entree was outstanding. Ahi tacos were also outstanding. Gorgeous sunset and setting. 4% kitchen service charge is a blatant surcharge for no good reason — should be absorbed in the food prices.
As always, The Beach House is amazing! The food was so good and the atmosphere is perfect. We brought a couple with us who have never been to Kauai and they were so impressed with this restaurant. We try to come every time we are in Kauai.
The Beach House has a beautiful setting, but the quality of the food has declined in recent years. I’m not sure if the chef is changing up the menu, but the Wasabi Fresh Island Fish barely has a hint of wasabi these days. The watermelon salad, which used to be our favorite, comes with overripe/borderline rancid watermelon half the time, and the dessert menu has changed several times, each time for the worse. The coconut crème brûlée currently on the menu is served in such a narrow container that the signature brûlée’d sugar comes out soggy instead of crisp. Lastly, because of the extremely long waitlist for reservations, we had to book a 4:30pm dinner reservation. The Beach House is renowned for their location, so every table faces the ocean, which meant the sun was beaming directly in our eyes for the entire meal. Thankfully I have learned my lesson and bring my sunglasses, but even then the glare is nearly unbearable. If this were a low to moderate priced restaurant, some of these aspects could be overlooked, but when you’re spending this kind of money, you expect a much higher quality experience. Coupled with the fact that it’s a 8+ week wait to get a sunset reservation for two people, and it is a very disappointing experience altogether.
We had a great table outside and a lovely wedding was taking place but we could still see the ocean. The sun was a little bright but manageable. Our server Kevin was attentive but not intrusive. The poke tacos were fresh and our meals lovely. Thanks for having port as last time we came it was not available. Was Kamaaina discount available? Dang we forgot to ask. Thanks for a wonderful evening.
2nd time here in a week. 1st time all was excellent...food, service, ambiance...2nd time food was excellent, ambiance was good (right on the beach) but inside noise level was loud.
"John" our server was hard to find. Breezed by and said I'll be right with you. Wasn't. Finally got back with menus, didnt offer us cocktails ( wife had one from bar, but I had none) Salads came delivered by someone else, not offered ground pepper...I sat until I saw John, flagged him down and asked if they had any ground pepper. He said "oh-he didnt offer you any?" meaning the delivered of the food.
He was just never around in the whole dining room-if I caught a glimpse of him, he was gone in the next instant. Very disappointed.
Great restaurant with a wonderful view! The staff were very helpful and customer focused. The food was great, we especially enjoyed the lobster deviled eggs appetizer! The filet was fantastic, the seafood linguini was wonderful as well! We will be back!
The food was excellent! Our waiter was the worst! Not the right career choice for him.
Our annual Anniversary dinner! The view is unsurpassed, service impeccable and food is outstanding! The best Mai Tai on the island.
Pretty overpriced for the quality of what you get. I don't mind paying more for a quality meal, but the food was average. $46 for a pretty basic ~5oz portion of macadamia nut ahi, rice and small side of vegetables, and a very touristy atmosphere. I think you're basically paying for the location.
The food was beyond fantastic…unbelievable! Service was excellent and the sunset can’t be described with words. The wood parakeets coming to nest in the palms at sunset by the thousands…is this real! We loved it!!!
The filet was sooooo tender that I literally cut that fat piece of meat with my fork!!! Craziness!! Try the drink with limes and coconut milk (forgot the name)….it tastes like lime cheesecake!! Absolutely great place for dinner!! ❤️❤️❤️ Oh, and you MUST try the wasabi potatoes….to die for!!
We always make a point to eat at the Beach House when visiting Kauai... it never disappoints!
Stunning! Amazing service and a fantastic menu. Food was delicious, atmosphere was cool and the ambiance was incredible. I had a blast at this place. Drinks were really good too!
We enjoyed the Beach House, and the food was delicious. Tony our waiter was very nice, attentive and provided good service. Our only complaint was the check-in process. The hostess failed to alert us when our table was ready (we told her our cell phone wasn’t working so text wouldn’t work) and we waited for thirty minutes while others were seated ahead of us. However, she was apologetic when we inquired about our table, and we were seated at a nice table for our dinner.
Overpriced but nice! I am sure during the day time the views are amazing! The potstickers were our favorites.
Food and drink very good. Very busy around sunset.
Very good seafood linguini
The restaurant had the most tender filet mignon I've ever had, and it had a great taste. My wife had a fish dish, which was great as well. I wish that they would bring back their calamari steaks from a few years ago though, and they were out of the coconut creme brulee. The hostess wished us a happy anniversary, but the waiter never acknowledged it at all.
