While the location can’t be beat, the food was so-so...service at dinner was wonderful, service at breakfast was seriously slipshod, hubby asked for sausage, got bacon. I asked for biscuit and got nothing. Waitress ndidnt get back to us until it was time for the bill. More training necessary.
The service, food and the entire experience really was great. Would come back anytime!
Service was excellent, but the food was mediocre. Got crab cake, but it tasted like burnt grease from the pan. It came with sweet potatoes, but they tasted the same.
We also got calamari, but it was rubbery and also tasted like burnt grease.
Drinks were good. The kids got french fries with their food and the fries were good.
Nice atmosphere, and pretty view of the ocean.
Overall, it wasn’t bad, but we probably won’t return.
The soup was extremely salty. The staff didn’t seemed surprised when we told them. Our waitress was phenomenal! She was very attentive. The value was definitely not up to par with the food. There were other places on the island that had better value and 10 times better food. The decor and the building are beautiful but the food has not caught up to the ambience.
It has expansive seafood menu but my spouse eats beef and there was minimal selection. He got pizza and that was not spectacular. the place was very noisy with loud live music and the service was slow and inaccurate. Daughter-in-law got a house salad with mozzarella cheese when she ordered Greek with Feta. My crab cake was rather ordinary. My son got a redfish sandwich that he enjoyed. My Prosecco came from its own miniature bottle so it was fizzy and fresh. I recommend it with the caveat that it is convenient, lively with a local charm but if you go, have lots of patience and evaluate what you are served carefully to be sure it is accurate. When we pointed out the salad error it was corrected.
Not a lot of options on Jekyll but this place is consistent. It won’t be the best meal you’ve had but there are far worse options - call it a “safe” play.
Beer overpriced $6-8 for a pint, fried shrimp, fried oysters, and steak (filet) were the best things at our table. The seafood capellini was not good (decide if you’re intending to be a wine sauce or pesto...it shouldn’t be both).
We had a very nice dinner. The Service was great, and it was nice to sit outside.
Great service in a nice beachfront location.
It took 10 mins to get our drinks. My husband never got a refill of his tea. I ordered a margarita. It did not come until we were more than 1/2 done with eating. I ordered at the same time we ordered our food. It was not the correct margarita as well. However, the server assured me it was. He never apologized for the lateness of our items.
Very friendly server. Decent beer selection. Great outdoor atmosphere with a pretty cool live band
Great food and service for a reasonable price. Great view of the ocean. Best key lime mousse ever.
Started out rough because the hostess said she didn’t have our table because she went to the bathroom and someone else sat people there. Ended great because the manager made up for the error and really provided great customer service. Keep the manager and train the rest of the staff on customer service.
Staff was very generous. Dynamic crowd with really good selection of craft beers on tap.
Well it was ok. Take heed of all reviews about slow service. At first they seated us fast and got first round of drinks quickly. Appetizers came out and were very good- we had Shrimp and grits lollipops which were delicious. The caprese salad was good. Then it all feel apart. We waited for quiet some time for lunch. She cAme back and placed drink order that I never got. Needed refills and made four trip before everything was correct. Finally, said something to manager to get drink after asking waitress 3 times for refill. Finally our food got to table and most was ok. I got the shrimp flatbread and it was lukewarm at best. Everyone else’s entrees were ok
Outside dining after a beach wedding. Food and service were excellent.
Ordered pizza for lunch one day and a burger another. Both were very good.
Had a reservation, hostess did not greet us as we walked in. Hostess stated she had no tables to seat us, there was plenty of tables. She did not speak much and just pointed to empty tables (?) and to screen on tablet, I tried to explain our reservation and how many was in our party. She had to go grab another server, which they whispered back and fourth until I asked to speak to a manager. The manager sat us right away with no hesitation. Our server was sweet, the few times we saw her. Drinks were not made well and were different every order, drinks took 15 minutes to receive, food took about an hour and came out separately. Food was great, but will not return or recommend.
Risotto was under done and they forgot our salad. Food was average and overpriced. French fries are amazingly good though.
nice breakfast, great coffee, intelligent waitstaff
Cocktails were good. Food was average nothing special. Very quiet when we were there on a Sunday night - no atmosphere.
It was good food, but we had a long wait. Not a major problem as we enjoyed the company!
Our first day for dinner was decent but service was slow. There was a junior golf tournament in town and they weren't prepared to be busy and didn't have enough servers to cope. Breakfast the following day was decent but again, not enough servers. Slow service! We tried beer and appetizers while watching sports on Sunday but they were out of all of their mozzarella cheese balls and all of their tv's weren't working due to the bad weather. Very poor experience and won't eat there or stay at the Holiday Inn next door as a result!
We were very disappointed in the quality of the food. Our soups were served cold. My French onion soup had more bread than onions.
My salmon over pasta dish had more pasta water than sauce and the salmon was in pieces more like scraps rather than a whole piece of fish.
Visited for Valentine's Day. The Steak and Lobster melted in your mouth. The salad with Apple, peaches and candied pecans was delicious too.
While the server was nice, she was sick and kept coughing and sneezing which wasn't good. The hamburger didn't come out as ordered either.
We had dinner reservations, and the Filet mignon was amazing. I heard from others that they only know how to cook Medium or Medium Well but that was ok by me, so for Rare people you might need to tell them carefully to be sure it is Rare enough for you.
We also ate breakfast here twice because we were at the hotel and the only other place really is McCormicks, which we went once and it was good.
Good service, decor, hot food, and they have a Gluten Free Chocolate torte, Decaf is good and hot.
Service was good. Food was average at best. We had the beach house boil. Food Was cold when arrived at table. Other members in our party said their food was really good.
Great steamed u peel shrimp- med size! Followed by 14 oz ribeye! Cooked perfectly as ordered! Also tried shrimp and grits! A little different with fried grit wedges in a great Tasso sauce! Delish!
Very happy with new chef and new menu! Hubbie also had gumbo and Caesar salad.
Mgrs kept visiting table to see if we needed anything! Big big improvement over last years, menu, food, service and wait!
Was a Early new years eve dinner for us! Left full, satisfied and happy.
Ambiance was great! And service was good. Food tasted good but my crab cake dinner was the smallest dinner portion I have ever seen! It was $19 for one crab cake a tiny side... I don’t eat a lot but it was tiny for the price. Seemed more like an appitizer than a dinner.
Beautiful location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Good food, better than expected. Indifferent service.
Friendly service, good food, and a great table on the Oceanside porch.
Steel chairs on concrete floors made a terrible racket sitting down or getting up, disturbing other diners. Specialty cocktails (Long Island Tea and Mule) were watery--no flavor in either one. Glass of "house red" was "off"---server subbed a better quality. Risotto had so much garlic it was nearly inedible. Low Country Boil was over cooked and lacked seasoning (typically Old Bay). Extremely disappointing and expensive (considering the quality) meal; would definitely not recommend. (Our server was great.)
We loved this place! Great food, reasonably priced, on the ocean. Who could ask for anything more?
Awesome grits! Everything was good! Inside dining or outside dining by the handsome outdoor fireplace.
Service excellent along with speedy of food. Food just had no taste.
Saturday Date at the beach. Was disappointed they didn't have she crab soup or gumbo.
Loved our first visit to the Beach House! It was super busy for July 4th but we were served quickly at the bar by Jacob and seated within 10 minutes of our reservation. The seafood nachos are amazing! Love the decor and the outside back deck plus it's right on the beach so for the 4th we had a perfect view of the fireworks!
Very Disappointing. Made a reservation a week in advance for the 4th of July knowing it would be very busy. Called the restaurant the day of the reservation to confirm our 7:00 reservation. The person we spoke to said another large group had also booked that time and asked if we could come at 6:30 instead. We agreed. When we arrived at 6:30 the hostess still had us down for 7:00 saying the day shift had not made the change. We waited for the 7:00 o'clock time. By 7:45 there was still no table available. By 8:00 we finally agreed to have them put together an outdoor table although we had reserved an indoor table. By the time we got our food it was 8:30 and it was most certainly not worth the wait.
Use of opentable was very easy. We had reservations. We were seated fairly soon in the bar area. After waiting a few minutes bar staff came over and said someone else would get our order but since we had been waiting she would get our drinks. After another wait our waitress came over and took our order. It took a long time for order. Our daughter-in-law ordered salad and entrees came about two minutes after salad. Food was good but service was not. We expected better service.
