We were here last year and loved it and could not wait to go back! BUT, we were very disappointed this time. We liked some of the dishes but not enough to go back. We LOVE Bestia by the same Chefs and have been there many times and we are never disappointed in any dish that we order. So why would we go back to just an OK restaurant. I am just not sure if I would recommend it or not!

The food was absolutely amazing and fresh. I could tell they use only the best ingredients and everything was so divine. The service could’ve been a little better my serve didn’t seem to knowledgeable but other than that I really enjoyed myself. We started off with the baba ganoush which was the best I’ve ever had. Next, we had the shrimp prawns and the heirloom salad which was perfect in every way. Last, we had the lamb shawarma! The pita bread was made fresh and we couldn’t stop eating it. I will definitely be back again. God bless the chefs ❤️

Love this place! Duck hummus is a must order and the scallop crudo is creative and delicious! The sommelier helped with our wine selection and suggested a small producer from Greece that we would have easily overlooked and turned out to be FANTASTIC! Leverage the knowledgeable staff for a tasty culinary experience.

Food excellent. Staff was excellent, from reservations to seating to service and everything else. Everything worked well. Noise level was somewhat high for comfortable conversation among all four of our party, but certainly better than most new restaurants. Will come again.

Quite frankly, I'm not sure what the rave is about. Very overpriced for what they serve. Babaghanoush, a staple of Lebanese, Palestinian and Syrian cuisine was tasteless and its consistency was not great. The portions were small for the value and the main dish -- the lamb -- was mostly fat and bone. Wow. Back in Beirut, this restaurant would be closed the next day.

Very disappointed considering these are the people who brought us Bestia.
So noisy ! Had to sit out on the patio where it was cold. And piping in rap music...I guess I'm just getting (too) old for that kind of scene.
What kind of Mediterranean restaurant runs out of hummus? Very disappointing.
They didn't have Mediterranean Sea Bass (Branzino - Bestia's was exceptional) and were featuring Dorade instead. It tasted great but there were so many bones, a good bit of it was virtually inedible.
Very expensive wine and entrees.
Sorry to say the only really good part was the breads.
My wife will never go back.

Loved the energetic vibe inside the restaurant. Would recommend to make a reservation outside if you want more privacy. Top must plates would have to be the grilled prawns, baba gonoush, hummus amba, lamb neck, fired pita bread, malawach and roasted cauliflower. Bummed out that they ran out of the tomahawk ribeye, but other than that everything went smoothly.

Everything was great expect service. Our server wasnt very present. He forgot to put in some our order so waiting long periods was not fun. By the time we got done with meal and wanted to order dessert our server nowhere to be found then a new server proceeded to tell us most of the desserts were 86 so that just made it even more of a bummer.

Much like Bestia, Bavel is going to be a long running hot spot and for good reason. The food is phenomenal and easily shareable amongst friends, family and romantic interests. Don't miss the mushrooms and lamb's neck as well as making sure to order extra fried pita to enjoy with everything. The atmosphere is loud and energetic, so don't come here if you're looking for a quiet corner, rather if you're looking to be loud and look cool. Just be sure to book your reservation well in advance.

I’m unhappy with our seating assignment. In my reservation o specifically asked for an indoor table. We were offered an outdoor table at our reservation time or the option to wait for an indoor table. I choose to wait but after 15 minutes my friend ( who was in town to celebrate her birthday) was hungry and over it. We were told we could sit at the bar for dinner or continue to wait. She chose the bar rather than wait. The food was great as usual, our bartender was awesome and the food service was speedy. But I hated that I made a reservation a week in advance with a specific request to sit inside and ended up sitting next to some chicks that just walked in off the street and sat at the same time as us at the bar. 😞

Tried to use a gift card and $9 (20%) was taken off and the waiter tried to explain why -- something about their system takes off 20% for gift cards for some reason. Maybe it's a Visa thing. It made no sense to me. The food was good but not worth $240 for a dinner for two (20% tip is included in that total). Had a reservation for 8pm and wasn't seated until 8:25. Had to wait in the "lounge" which was crowded and had seats with no backs so lounging was a challenge. Staff was nice and again the food was good but I wouldn't pay $240 for what we had which was mostly hummus, vegetables, and bread. If I ever have money to burn maybe I'd try Bavel again.

I made a reservation well in advance for a birthday dinner and when we got there they sat us in the bar area at an awkward small round table, I asked if we could move to a table in the main dining room and they were not accommodating. Very disappointed with that aspect of the service, it was a Monday night and we arrived on time and they were dismissive and rude and didn’t even try to get us another table. Our waitress was great and the food very flavorful and interesting. Only dish we didn’t like was scallops crudo.

The food was amazing, we especially loved the babaganoush and roasted cauliflowers. Our server was the best, super attentive, helpful with suggestions on the menu, etc. The place is really cool, the only thing I'd say is the music was a bit too loud. Overall we had a great experience and would highly recommend Bavel!

You cannot have a bad dish here. It can be expensive but there are enough options for both food and wine if you want a great experience and still keep an eye on your budget. And as always, the service is top notch.

We had relatives in from out of town so we wanted to take them to a special venue and had read about Bavel. The food was good but quite expensive for what it was. The hummus wasn't anything special and one extra piece of pita was $4.00 - crazy. Also the waiter talked up the baba ghanoush which was fine, but again nothing special. Lamb chops were tasty but nothing unusual there either. The most tasty thing we had was the oyster mushroom kebab. All in all it was a very loud and disappointing experience and a long drive as well.
