The corn ravioli, spinache dumplings, octopus, and roasted potatoes were excellent. Some of the dishes could have used a little less salt, but over all everything was excellent. Our server also made sure to communicate with the kitchen about one of our allergies to make sure the was able to eat everything, which was awesome.
Rude staff. Most of the restaurant is empty and there were multiple times for reservations but I was told the wait was an hour and a half. The food looked good but the staff was rude so I won’t be returning.
Always a favorite spot for dinner, we finally had a chance to try out brunch and we loved it. Great choices ranging from savory to sweet and all stops in between.
First time going and it was a great experience. We tried their Sunday brunch. The food was delicious.
Love Battalion! Such great food! Everyone there is always very friendly as well. Would highly recommend!
Food was decent for brunch. You get a good portion for the money but service was just ok. The waitress was not attentive and was rarely around. And the dining area temp was extremely cold. If you have an industrial interior the temperature needs to be increased so guests don't freeze. The front desk seemed a bit disorganized while taking reservations and checking in reservations.
Thank you to our waiter Jeff for your awesome service.
Incredible meal from start to finish. Cocktails are strong but balanced. Must tries are the burratta, spinach dumplings, veal, eggplant parm and the pana cotta. Every dish was wonderful, the drinks were great, service was very attentive. It’s pricey for sure, but worth every penny. Great for date night or special occasion. Ask for upstairs seating for a quieter table.
The setting at the Battalion looks more intimate in photos than in person. Not a good first date restaurant. It appears that all the tables for two are actually four-person tables. Kinda awkward. Zero intimacy. I noticed that when I scanned the room and noticed all couples on a date night sitting at a four-person table as if they were at a seance attempting to make contact with the dead to invite two more poor souls to join them at an upscale "Olive Garden." Apparently, on Saturday evenings, the resident DJ at Battalion likes to put the music volume up to 11. Food was 3 of 5 stars. Not bad; nothing to go bragging to your friends. In Texas, if you are going to put t-bone on the menu, you better know how to do steak. Negroni was weak; perhaps it was AA night. I don't know.
Best food & service!!!
Not best for elderly & disabled. Slow elevator, too dim lighting at dark.
Overall, very positive!
We absolutely loved this place and can not wait to go back soon! Looking forward to trying Sunday Brunch also!
We had a blast and loved all the food options to share! Waiter was fabulous.
We had heard so much about the restaurant; however, this was the first opportunity to dine there. Food was exquisite and the service unmatched. Arianna’s recommendations and attentiveness completed a lovely dining experience.
Dark, loud, and unremarkable food. You have other options.
First time at Battalion. Carter made the experience even better with his knowledge. We will definitely be back and will inform all our friends that they should go too!
The food is so fresh and well made and the service was superb. The restaurant design and decor is beautiful. Only complaint is the noise level. It’s not what I consider “energetic” but LOUD because of bad acoustics. Also, the lighting is too dark in the evening. The lighting needs to be turned up so you can see what you’re eating.
Amazing good, atmosphere and service!
The place is beautiful, the service is great , and the prices are very reasonable. However, I was a bit disappointed with the food. Although the appetizer was delicious (we ordered a mascarpone dip with a spicy sausage that was super tasty), my main course (veal) was disappointing. The sauce was cold and the meat was extremely fatty. My friends ordered the pork and were happy with it. Perhaps I need to try something different next time. The ambience is great.
Love the ambiance, good location, good food! A nice downtown brunch option.
The food was incredible. The service was a huge disappointment. It is also sad to see that a majority of the people don't care much about their appearance when dining out.
Everything was excellent!
Night out for a relaxing dinner. Our waiter made some great recommendations and the food was outstanding.
Food is amazing at every course. Cool atmosphere. Boise level wasn’t bad, and actually provided some privacy during the times when we may have been a little too loud. Not inexpensive, but a great value for the money.
First time there and i must say i will be back soon. Great service and the food was amazing.
All good. Little t
The food was very good. If I can be a little hyper critical, I would offer that the sauces were wonderful. The main food items may have been a bit flat on the flavor. The food should not depend on the sauce. That being said, it was a very good dining experience and I will go again.
It was my birthday. We had a 7:00 reservation and didn’t get seated until 7:25. I noted birthday on our reservation and they never acknowledged it, which was fine. Our waitress was educated on the menu and friendly. She didn’t come by too often but I didn’t feel we needed much either. The place was extremely loud and we felt like we were raising our voice at eachother. Food was so fabulous to make up for it all though. Wasn’t cheap, but isn’t the most expensive option either.
Slightly over priced. Pasta cooked perfectly. Very good service.
Food and service was fantastic (Carter). Our only issue was it was drafty/cold by the glass window. However, we will definitely go back on a warmer night.
Menu seemed interesting, some of the items we ordered were good but they served them at medium temperature. Wine was off, we ordered by the glass. The server was a bit obnoxious and always in a rush. If they do not want patrons coming in after nine they should advise their customers. As per acoustics, its a very loud restaurant with no heating provided. Overall a poor experience!
A really superb meal. The pork shoulder was wonderful.
Fun place but it was SOOOO cold! The food was good, the service exceptional.
Cool place in a renovated fire station. Amazing food and perfect service. Be sure to check out the restrooms.
The ambiance and environment were full of life and people having fun with friends. The food seemed small but had big flavor and filled the bellies of my group well. Taste and portion size we're greatly complemented by the price of it all, which was very reasonable. Rudy, the waiter, was pleasant and on point with refills, knowledgeable about the menu. Exactly what we came looking for in an Italian dinner night out.
Pork dish was a total winner. Spinach dumplings were a bit too rich especially with the pork. The grapefruit tart is one of the best desserts ever. We’ll be back
Really interesting restaurant location - in a converted fire station! The location is really close to downtown, but a bit out of the tourist fray. Very attentive service and good food.
Wonderful food and wine. Great service
Ask for Rudy. Amazing service, decadent food, amazing atmosphere!
Great food and great service. Definitely would recommend it to others!!
