This is a very relaxing and excellent venue that was featuring an awesome jazz group named Jazmyn on the Sunday when I visited and that really made the experience a very enjoyable one. :)
We sat at the bar and had excellent service from Carlos. The drinks were all absolutely fantastic. He also have great recommendations for food. I highly recommend visiting. All the staff were very friendly. Can’t wait to go back!

The food is so flavorful at Basso. We usually get a bunch do tapas, but this time we got a few & entrees too. The grilled calamari was cooked really well. The tuna on bread tapas was the most amazing, flavorful item I’ve ever had there! We ate every morsel! The bacon mozzarella was really good - my husband had that. I had a perfectly cooked halibut special that came with mushroom risotto. My only complaint was that it was missing a green veg- I would have liked some green beans with it. Our cocktails were really tasty & creative. Always a great experience.
I must begin where the dinner actually ended with the Tres Leches…UNBELIEVABLE!!!…I don’t think I’ve ever had anything more delicious…Rich, creamy and yet somehow light…I will be thinking about this piece of cake until I return…Don’t mistake me…The rest of the meal did not fall short…Delicious through and through…The service was also remarkably fast…It was my first time in Basso’s new-ish space…It will not be my last…FABULOUS!
We are Tapas, and the food was very mediocre. Think more food truck vs restaurant experience. Very pleasant and attentive service though.

Wonderful staff, nice room (with the added bonus of some good local jazz musicians booked to play regularly), but the food is mediocre at best. Come for a drink and listen to the music, but dine elsewhere.

The first time I made reservations, I arrived and my table was given away. I had to stand in the front waiting for over an hour and never got my table. Had to join another party so I could finally eat. The second time I made a reservation and requested a table in the front by the band, I was seated the furthest away against the wall. Don't go hungry. No value for money spent. Want a piece of bread? It's a charge. $32 risotto entry came with no salad or veggies and was only about 1/4-1/2 cup. Cappuccino $6.50. My husband had a salad. Our bill was over $170 and I had to eat when I got home. We certainly don't mind paying that, but the value has to be there. Room with a band is very noisy -- can't hear anyone speaking. Staff does their best to weave between tight tables. My husband said he'd never go back.
We went for Halloween music event. Everyone, staff, musicians, and some customers ( including us) are in costumes, and it created a whole atmosphere, it was really fun!
Love this place . I have been going to Basso since they were at the Norwalk location . Excellent tapas, excellent dinner and drinks. The new location in Westport is bigger and with a great vibe. The owner (Renato) is a great guy and the staff is the best. One of my favorites.

Outdoor seating is plastic. Food is good but not as good as other tapas in town.
Overall impression is excellent. Tapas were good as were the drinks. The reason for fair service note is that we were rushed out at an hour before the posted closing time. They turned the lights off!! We and another party were shocked.
We love Basso. Great food, excellent service. Definitely a bit pricy overall it’s worth it to go every now and then.

Basso is a fun place to eat. The food is very good although several things that we wanted were unavailable and we had a 7:15 reservation but we had to wait a long time for our order to be taken. Our waiter was very nice and helpful but overwhelmed. Basso clearly needs more staff.
Been there multiple times and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I think like most businesses they are struggling with being short staffed but everyone went out of their way and made us feel welcomed.

Food here is great. No complaints there. Tables outside are plastic and uncomfortable. Also very unsteady. Moved inside and much nicer. Our waiter was sub par. Very aloof and forgetful. Had to ask several times for everything we ordered, wine, water refills. Not a great experience.

Food was good, service slow and the restaurant was HOT and LOUD. Live music was polarizing; was difficult to hold a conversation. Place has promise but has to figure out what they want to be.
The food and setting are amazing. Fantastic wines and a great vibe. I see this as a real "hotspot" for dining. I had a reservation and was seated immediately and served a drink. While I enjoy dining and not feeling rushed, My guest and I had to flag down a server after waiting over an hour to order. I understand that there is a waitstaff shortage and I appreciated the service once we ordered. Everyone was very apologetic.
