Bashaw’s isn’t bad but it is definitely not worth the price. At a $125 fixed price menu I expect a lot more.
A quality steakhouse close to home without driving all the way downtown for the high end steakhouses. Dined here prior to Valentine's Day considering the weather forecasting bad conditions. Bashaws offered a prix fixe menu with 4 entrees to choose from. Glass of complimentary champagne with our appetizer...nice!
Enjoyed listening to singer specializing Frank Sinatra. Our waiter, Preston was great, trained and experienced! Plan to go back to sample menu's daily selections!
We had a fantastic time.......... Love Marco and the music
This is an intimate dining experience, the service was excellent (our server Alex made our evening) and the food was very tasty. Nether of us drink but I did look at the extensive wine list...impressive...That said: this is definitely a special occasion kind of place for us...
Excellent service, good food. It was way too loud however as we were looking for a more intimate dinner to celebrate our anniversary.
First time. No advance notice of Pre fix menu. Worst table for 2. $300 for 2 on high side. Probably won’t be back.
Absolutely amazing restaurant venue! Great Food! Great Music! Great ambiance! COVID19 Restrictions Managed Very Well!
It was expensive and I’d say it was about the top one or three meals in my life. I’ll go back. T
The Valentines set dinner was very good! The wait staff worked overtime to make sure everything was perfect. However, besides my lovely wife the best part of the evening was the wonderful Lady singer and all the old love songs she sang for us! Bashaws On
Amazing food and service. We will be back for dinner. Thank you so much for everything
Had a great Filet. Nice music by a Sinatra style singer. Nice ambiance. Prices probably about where they should be for a nice dining experience.
Awesome. Excellent Sea Bass and bacon wrapped grilled asparagus
Highly recommend
The steak was amazing and my wife had the Bubba shrimp. Just delicious! Chloe the singer was fantastic and a beautiful singer. Great date night!
It was definitely lively. Hard to carry on a conversation while social distancing especially with the music as loud as it was. I would tone down the mic a bit so you don't have to shout over the table at each other. Thanks.
Great relaxed and elegant dining. Live musical entertainment and attentive care. Bubba Bashaw knows how to make his guests feel at home.
It was overpriced for what we received. My boyfriend got the ribeye and I got the shrimp pasta, we also got the shrimp cocktail. Let’s just the say the only good thing was the bottle of wine.
I feel bad but my bf makes a better ribeye at home and I could have gotten my pasta from the frozen aisle at HEB and saved myself. The service wasn’t that great either, our waiter took forever to take drink orders and get our food to us. But he was nice and feel like maybe they were over staffed so we still tipped 20%. We tried it, we won’t be back.
Service saved the night. Steak average, bar average, price above average. Not a Perry's or Eddie V's but priced like them
It was quite a special treat to visit the newly opened Bashaw's. Certainly something different and very enjoyable. it's not every day in Austin now you can hear a real live musician sing and play at a baby grand the old Sinatra classics while dining on very nice food. Service was good.... and really enjoyed meeting the owner, Bubba Bashaw, who greeted us like old friends, was a wonderful host and sang as well with his excellent Piano player! Thanks Bubba and staff!
ps. the Asparagus wrapped in bacon, the Lobster Bisque, and the Cheesecake were outstanding! Thanks.
This is an awesome establishment, great ambiance, great music, terrific service, great tasting food, tremendous wine! Owner came over to introduce himself, it was a great experience that I Will highly recommend!
Amazing vibe, incredible music with a top notch lobster bisque... order Marconi’s Old Fashioned for a nice south of the border twist to the classic.
A superb dining experience . My husband and I both had the filet mignon which was cooked perfectly . The potatoes au gratin and wedge salad were both delicious .
Our servers Michael and Marconi were both phenomenal, as was the ambience, cocktails and wine. We are looking to returning soon.
We can't wait to go back! The vibe is so chill. The Staff and food was amazing!
Excellence from the moment you arrive until you walk out the door!!
Chief is Amazing. Waiters are Wonderful. Entertainment is Great. Overall Phenomenal!!! Absolutely Phenomenal
I’m close by in the Northwest Hills area, and I really want to support Mr Bashaw’s restaurant concept. Unfortunately I felt that the mark was missed.
Steakhouse & Seafood claim was way off. Too many excellent and less expensive food options in the area.
I would like to leave a suggestion in this virtual box.
Reframe ... A Supper Club ... Goes along with the Rat Pack decor..Basic Food,... mixed Drinks and Wine... and Keep The Music island make room for dancing !!
Some of the suggestions will be possible after we all get the vaccine!!
Great place for nice dinner. Support this local olace
The other reviews seemed spot on in highlighting the issues. While having another high-end steakhouse in the area would be a nice welcome, this restaurant failed to live up to that. The steaks were overpriced for what was received. The filet was over salted and sauces were overpriced and disappointing as well. Menu and availability of items seemed to be having major issues. Service was well-intentioned, but failed to deliver the level of quality and consistency you would expect for a place with high-end prices. Decorations, ambiance and entertainment were nice tries, but ultimately don’t meet the level needed given the restaurants location and limited upgrades. The potential (and need) is there, but they need to focus on delivering top quality food and service in order to survive and succeed.
More than I was expecting. Delicious food. The steak was perfect. Just perfect! The piano music so great and the service was kind and professional, this guys are really into make you fell an amazing experience.
This was our first time dining here. Met Bubba (the owner) a very nice and friendly man as was the bartender and wait staff. The food, ambiance, and entertainment were awesome. A few kinks from the kitchen but understandable for a new place. Portions were plenty with prices comparable to a high end steak house.
Food and service did not match the pricing. They have a lot of kinks to work out. We decided to leave after the appetizer and dined for dinner at another establishment. Will give them another try down the road if they survive.
This wonderful neighborhood restaurant was outstanding! We celebrated a relative's birthday and she was delighted with everything. We were welcomed personally at the door by the owner himself, Bubba Bashaw, donning a tuxedo. Our table had a happy birthday banner and the staff was over-the-top accommodating, attentive and personable. That night the entertainment was a Frank Sinatra tribute artist who sang happy birthday at the end of our meal. A complimentary dessert was provided for the birthday lady and the food was amazing. We all had filet mignon and the seasoning really stood out. We shared family-style green beans that were also stellar. Our shared key lime pie was also terrific. Our pre-dinner cocktails were perfection - my cosmopolitan was one of the best I've ever enjoyed and our Spanish red wine was delicious. GO THERE and enjoy a wonderful experience while supporting a locally owned business that had the gumption to open up during COVID-19. The decor was elegant and fun with vintage photos of Sinatra, Marilyn and others. We will definitely be back for date night, special occasions and whenever we can.
Unlike no other steakhouse in Austin, exceptional prime beef and uncompromising service. Love the live jazz and decode with Frank and Marilyn. Highly recommend you experience it in person.
I am really glad this restaurant opened close to where I live. I love the concept of a supper club and the Frank Sinatra vibe.
I had the filet steak and my wife had pork. Both were excellent, although the steak was just a tad over salted. The service was pretty good, although I did not get the garlic sauce I ordered for my steak.
I a little expensive and the menu is limited, but overall a good experience and we will eat there again.
We had a 7:30 reservation. We ordered about 7:45 or so. One of the sides we wanted, they were out of (the green beans), so we went with our second choice. I ordered a Caesar salad, with dressing on the side. When they brought it, it was dressed with extra dressing on the side. They brought me another one, and the lettuce was pretty wet. But at least it didn't have dressing on it. My husband ordered the lobster bisque. He said it was pretty good, but it was not hot in temperature. Next, we waited for our meal, and waited, and waited and waited. Finally an HOUR after we ordered, the waiter came to tell us they ran out of filets. Like they didn't know that when we ordered. So, my husband went to plan B on his entree, which was a ribeye. I had ordered the sea bass, but they never brought it since my husband was still waiting. They said they would prepare his ribeye right away, but 30 min later, it still wasn't there. In the meantime, the manager and the owner came over at different times to discuss the situation with us. To their credit, they did say the meal would be comped. But by this time, we had now been there 2 hours and never received anything other than soup and salad, so we just got up and walked out. Oh, the table behind us were seated after us, yet they got the filets they ordered. And the table by the window also got their filets. How is that possible, when we were told they were out of them?
Another thing that bothered us. They say they practice social distancing. But it was so crowded, the tables were barely 2 feet apart, much less 6 feet. We ate outside, thinking it would be a little better. But the space between the tables was so close, that the waiter had to move to another area to let diners walk by.
This was one of the WORST dining experiences we've ever had. If they don't fix their problems quickly, they'll be out of business in 6 months.
The new neighborhood steak and seafood restaurant has much to workout during their opening months. While the steak was fantastic, the other items where just okay and the whole meal was incredibly overpriced for what we got. Service has kinks to work through as we waited for a long time to receive our order. The poor people behind us, who had the same res time as we did but were sat first didn't even get their food.
We happened to be there on a night in which they had live music but they could not figure out how to get the music playing outside till much later. The entire restaurant was cleared out by 9:30-10.
The restaurant is NOT practicing social distancing as they restaurant was PACKED and tables felt on top of each other. We opted to sit outside and even then it was crammed.
Excellent service and food. The ambiance was exceptional. Felt like dining in a high end New York restaurant
The venue is about to open on Saturday. The staff was excellent. The owner, bar manager and greeter all came to our table. We are so excited to have Bashaw’s in the neighborhood. Still growing snd adapting to requests of the patrons but what a great future. Where were the oysters? Lol. The absence of oysters did not diminish our experience. We want to go back for Wedge Salad and their shrimp cocktail. 😍 we wish everyone well! We will be back!!!
I played here their second week being open, so I was biased to expect the food/service would be good...but still I was blown away! That lobster mac. Yum. Ken is a super gracious server.
The stage is equipped with a baby grand and a drum kit. The music is broadcast throughout the restaurant and the patio accompanied by a video monitor. The PA set at a great level (though as a musician I would love for it to be a little louder 🤪) for conversation to still continue without being drowned out by the live music.
My New York based Italian friend admittedly can be picky when it comes to steak, and he raved about how the meal came out perfectly cooked ready to eat at the perfect temperature, and he wholeheartedly approved of the cheesecake.
Bravo Bashaw's! A blessing to find ya.
It's always refreshing when I try a new restaurant and it's a homerun. Bashaw's was one of these rare experiences. 1st the ambiance was perfect. Lot's of Sinatra and Rat Pack memorabilia on the walls. Music was of the same genre and just at the right level. Lighting was what you would want for a romantic dinner. Service was impeccable. My filet was perfectly prepared. My wife's entrée was equally exquisite. Wed through Sun they appeared to have live music which we will be back for. Definitely a strong recommend if you want a great romantic dinner or fun outing with friends.
The staff was nice but not very well trained. Food was suspect and way overpriced
Great dommer amd entertainment. Our server, Hannah, was terrific!
